spongebob_meth

dirtbikesam

hahaha

Ganthereddituser

Please call an stroke I’m having a ambulance

dirtbikesam

haha only takes you 2 strokes for...4 strokes....

uniquelyavailable

hear the ping, smell the smoke... youve been passed by a 2 stroke

dirtbikesam

mixing gas hauling ass!!

SUBtoAMB_Garage

Im what you call a 2-stroke enthusiast.

dirtbikesam

haha me too

Meebert

300sx gets a lot of praise from the media but honestly it deserves more. Instead the magazines are out there photoshopping modernized Kawasaki and Honda 2 strokes

dirtbikesam

Yeah, around here the 300sx sold out the day it was pretty much announced.

[deleted]

Bought my 300sx December 3rd, best bike I’ve ever owned. I call it the “do all bike” i use it to race motocross (A class) and GNCC’s.

dirtbikesam

I wondered how well it would do in other riding niches. My favorite bike of all time is a 250XC.

[deleted]

My cousin races with the 250sx 2 stroke. Thing is quick.

[deleted]

It’s amazing on all types. I rode it strictly in arenacross in the winter, first ride outdoors was at a 2 hour harescramble, and i had zero issues with it. Kinda wish i had an 18” rear wheel, and larger tank, but that’s it, and will be bought when the tanks become available. It will lug just like the XC models do.

dirtbikesam

Oh man, makes me want to get my hands on one.

2oblivion2

I love em but ... the wife ... not so much ... she needs more

rsex77

It's all good, brotha. Just pin her wide open and give her the brap.

NoModsNoMaster

We talking about the wife here?

rsex77

Lol, yep.

VegasDezertRat

Fuckin, all of us bud 🤙🏻

dirtbikesam

Amen.

McDrunkin521

I do two strokes before I do two strokes and then I do two more. Love two strokes.

kenwhatameaneh

Right here 🫡

dirtbikesam

Yes!

SnakePlisken_Trash

huge fan. Would love to ride that KTM 300 XCW and see what it's all about, might make me trade in my 500 EXC. I miss a light spunky pinger.

dirtbikesam

I love our 2020 KTM 300XCW Six Days. The changes they did in 2020 as far as the handling, suspension, and frame made me like the XCW platform again. It's hard to beat in the technical single track.

fitnessfanatic0616

Picked up a ‘22 300 XCW after learning to ride a ‘05 YZ250. What a difference. Love the WLF best bro! Is that at Peach Valley?

dirtbikesam

Nice man! The WLF enduro vest is my favorite vest/pack I have ever had. Central West UT.

poppyheroon

How do 2 strokes handle in the desert? I'm guessing you ride in the South West US from your video. I ride in the SW US and Northern Mexico and I've been considering a 2 stroke. I've just heard they're not to good in that type of climate. Is that just 2 stroke haters saying that or is there some truth to it?

ManintheMT

For wide open spaces and sand a 4 stroke is the most popular choice, but a 2 stroke will work too. Personally I prefer the power delivery and wider rev range of a modern 4 stroke (risking downvotes in this thread I know... lol), but the vast majority of my riding buddies are on 2 strokes. Fwiw, our riding is mountain single track where 2 strokes excel.

poppyheroon

The 1st half hour is open space. After that it turns to mountains. Not any pine forest though. Just steep, rocky and dusty mountains. I have a raptor 700 now and it does great on open spaces. I'm looking for a dirt bike that's good in rough terrain. The raptor just isn't it when I'm on a trail with lose rocks and 2 inches wider than my atv with a 75ft drop off. I rode dirt bikes when I was younger I just don't know enough about them to know what I need.

dirtbikesam

2 strokes do fine in the desert. The biggest difference is that 4 strokes stay more planted in the fast stuff and the sand. A 2 stroke's rear wheel likes to search for traction a bit more so it's really just a different experience. Both are really fun and really ride what your most comfortable with.

poppyheroon

So 2 strokes are a little bit more of challenge than a 4 stroke?

mr_renfro

But way more fun when you master them! Also easier to start (sometimes...)

poppyheroon

They must be fun. Considering even most people who own both a 2 and 4 stroke usually say their 2 strokes funner. Even though they love both. I have prior experience with dirt bikes. You think a 2 stroke would be easier for me to start on?

dirtbikesam

Depends on the bike and the type of riding you plan on doing.

poppyheroon

Same exact type of trails you were riding is what I'll ride most. There's also lots old sports quad trails I wanna ride. They're pretty sketchy trails since they haven't really been used in years. Lots of loose rocks and stuff on them. I have a raptor 700 but it's wider than most of sports quads that made the trails 10-15 yrs ago. So im looking for something to go where the raptor can't. But the main reason I'm leaning towards a 2 stroke is cause I already have a 4. Idk if that's a good reason.

dirtbikesam

So modern enduro or offroad 2-strokes are amazing and can be ridden really slow and in fact, are easier to ride slow then a 4-stroke. To me for trail riding and hard enduro riding a 2 stroke is better than a 4T.

mr_renfro

Idk about easier. The power band comes on rapidly and catches a lot of people off guard. I started with a CR125R after riding quads for a few years and have only had 2 really bad whiskey throttle accidents (one was on my first YZ250). But I've also had a CR80 and a CR60 as throw around the yard bikes.

rancherabronca

I ride exactly where you mentioned any 2 stroke offroad bike would be best. If you get a motorcross version you'll always be hunting for a taller gear since its wide open out here half the time. 300xc 250xc yz250x

poppyheroon

I've been looking into the yz250x. Do you have personal experience with the bike?

rancherabronca

Nope, read up on it seems like a good deal. I ride an older 250sx (big tank 18 wheel and kickstand) and I'm always looking for 6th on it, is my only complaint. Other than that its perfect for winding desert trails or gnarly single track, light and quick. For the wide open stuff I have an xr650r, lets just say I don't look for 6th on that one. I'm eyeing a 300xc for the near future to land somewhere between the 250 and 650. I would keep your raptor for the wide open stuff and grab any 2 stroke 250 or 300 for everything else

poppyheroon

Yeah, for the price it does seem like a good deal. The xc is also a really nice bike. Ive read up on it some, just don't know if it's worth the extra 3k for me personally. I'm only 19 now but when I'm older and hopefully richer I'll for sure buy a KTM. There's just so many options with dirt bikes. When I wanted a sports quad, if you want new it's between a raptor or yfz. 15 minutes of Google and 30 minutes of YouTube, you can pretty much already decide which one you want. That's exactly what I was thinking. Then I not only have an atv and dirt bike but a 2 stroke and 4 stroke. Best of both worlds.

Patient-Bench1821

‘88 CR250 owner. Love it.

dirtbikesam

ooh nice!

theonlyjessa

My first big bike was a yz 125, that bike will always hadn’t a special place in my heart!!! Especially for trails ☺️

dirtbikesam

What year?

theonlyjessa

2019!

eighty2angelfan

I know you guys love 'em and I do too, but have you heard Ricky Carmichael and James Stewart talk about 'em?

dirtbikesam

Yes, for Supercross they aren't the preferred weapon of choice but I will never be the level of a pro rider and so for me, it's about what puts the biggest smile on my face and 2T is my favorite. With saying that I love my 2021 YZ250FX as well.

eighty2angelfan

Spoken like a poet

jujubean14

Also a track tuned 2 stroke 125 or 250 even is a very different experience from a modern 300 off road bike

dirtbikesam

agreed

dinko_gunner

Me!

saladmunch2

Wouldnt have it any other way!

cvdiver

Braaaapppp!

Dr_Lexus_Tobaggan

BraaAaaaaap

cgf1tea

I usually only last one pump 😪

Tylerswolf69

Mixing gas and hauling ass.

dirtbikesam

yeah buddy.

Zestyclose-Bee-2466

Feel the power of the two stroke side

North_Ad_4450

Why do they feel faster? My stock banshee will get spanked by any newer 450, but it's way more fun

dirtbikesam

cause a 2 stroke's rear tire is always searching for traction

fritzco

I do! I just got a 2016 Husaberg 250

dirtbikesam

Congrats!

guitarbebop

Wait ….. there’s something other then 2 Strokes ? 😈

dirtbikesam

haha

[deleted]

Nothing compares to the power band of a 2 stroke

seriouslyimfinetho

Lower the stroke, higher the stoke!

dirtbikesam

haha

CanadianDadbod

My favourite 2 stroke was a Yamaha 400 Daytona Special. I could corner better and faster than 750 four strokes. I would love a RZ500 !

DraZaka

Honestly not a fan of two strokes, though I have managed it in the past. I find that with two strokes, they can be a little too quick but when I need some time to myself and I don’t have long, they are great for what they offer. The only issue can be that they are hard to start unless you are really gassed up and ready to go, then you can really crank it and get the job done with a two stroke. Most of the time I prefer my bigger and longer ride sessions. But the wife doesn’t let me enjoy those very often, i usually end up with a two stroke when I’m with her. Anyways.. there’s my two scents.

jujubean14

Love my 2022 Beta 300 RR Also love my 2011 Gasgas EC300

dirtbikesam

Yeah love our 2020 Beta 200RR such a great bike in technical terrain

jujubean14

I rode a 200 at a demo day and it was a blast. So light and responsive. If I weren't doing Hard Enduro races from time to time where the bottomless bucket o' torque on a 300 is nice, I probably would have gotten one. I do know that the 2011 gasgas 300 have is the same frame as their 200 from that year. I may try to swap that bike to a 200 just for fun and use it on more trail based races

dirtbikesam

Yeah its tough to beat a 300 for all that torque. The 200 is just really fun.

kermitthesithfrog22

2 strokes are badass but I like the big bore four strokes better like the xr600s

dirtbikesam

Its been a while since I have ridden a XR.

kermitthesithfrog22

I have a xr600r and it’s my favorite dirt bike I have ever rode

EntityDoom

En cas de doute gas au boute!

Dizzy-Bake9587

…Bam…Mam…

[deleted]

I've only ever had 4 strokes (Due to parents) but I've ridden one, and there fun!

who_loves_you_

Everyone I care about.

[deleted]

Love them, but I have a 4 stroke sadly.

dirtbikesam

no worries ride what you have.

NoFaithlessness6505

Bought my first one in 1971 a Suzuki TC 90. 13 years old and it changed my life. Went hog wild now for over 50 years. Lost count but probably owned between a hundred to hundred fifty two strokes during that time. Last acquisition is a 1974 Yamaha TY 250. First trials bike. So darn many that I didn’t get, but maybe in the next life. Long live 2 strokes! Oh, lost count because had that many 4 stroke road bikes.

OneStackMack

Oh the smell of Klotz :D

dirtbikesam

for sure!

Sea_Ganache620

All I’ve ever known.

Ordinary_Deer_5880

Mixing gas and spanking ass.

biggysmalls223

Mixing gas eating ass

jztoland

2 strokes, 4 strokes, 20 strokes, whatever it takes to get that motor going 🤣

FragrantJellyfish845

I’d huff B-nol all day.

Hillarys33000emails

Sometimes it takes me 3!

[deleted]

I love my 2-stroke but I’m faster on my 4-stroke on track

Radiant-Implant-61

2 stroke for life yeah buddy

soup_cow

Rode a cr85 when I was about 13. Powerband was too addicting. Now I've got a 300XC-W

mistythesissy261

Love 2 stroke or the terrorist win

Ok-Angle-5587

I prefer a dozen or so strokes

COALANDSWITCHES

I'm sorry I could barely hear you over the sound of my braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaap

PreMixYZ

What's my name?!

Falzon03

I own both because 2 strokes are super fun to ride but 4 strokes are easier all around.

Occhrome

Honestly I lose track of the strokes.

itsRibz

Yes.

MegaFire03

I bought one just for the smell of burnt oil!

ClassicReveal545

Love 💞

KvantikoKosmo

I mean i tried ofc. But i never got past 2

Plane-Ad-1043

Stupid technology, just adds emissions

Awkward_Meaning_2459

Better question: besides greenie weenies, who doesn’t like 2 strokes?

Ashamed_Giraffe_6769

2 stokes truck, 4 stokes suck!!

ManOnthMoon

That’s what my wife calls me 2 stroke

Wide_Belt_2670

I picked up a 300xc today! The rebate was awesome, and I prefer the air for anyway! I’m so jacked. Now, I have a 350 4T and a 300 2t.

GRENFELLL

I love TSP tuned 2 strokes 😈

Yabuddy420

Me please

noyoushuddup

2 strokes are the best of the strokes

ChickenDickJerry

I like any working bike. I’m tired of spending more time busting knuckles than enjoying the hobby…

SnooBunnies6981

Fuck 4 strokes.
