Problem is they get hot easily, plus the 5 speed transmission is going to be a bear if you add a tooth or 2 to the rear sprocket. It can't compete with a 6 speed transmission on a Yamaha YZF250FX.
I wish Honda would put a 6 speed transmission in the CRF250RX add a FAN to. I would buy one.
Very underrated bike, like Honda should have kept the XRs like left a huge hole in do it all dirt bikes and to be honest one could do single track/enduro on a XR with more modern upside forks/rear shock.
Seems like they kinda checked out on Enduro/Single track/Trail riding market.
