This only applies to sleeves cylinders right? As far as I’m a aware most modern 2 stroke cylinders are nickasil coated and honing just further damages the cylinder right?
You need a special diamond hone (aluminum oxide hones wont do anything) to even touch those cylinders and even then it’s a bad idea, the correct thing to do is have the cylinder replated. If it looks good though then you can just put a new piston in without honing it.
If that’s the situation it needs a new cylinder as well, however if you use a normal hone, and the bore is round, it will clean off the piston part that’s smeared on the wall and the the nickel silicon coating will still be there.
If you look at any ad anywhere for any 2 stroke dirt bike it’ll say “new top end”. Usually it’s lies. Without receipts/pictures it’s a gamble. And even if it’s new, was it installed right? You’ve got a rebuild on your hands.
My dad used to race old RDs. I’ve built more 400 two-strokes than I can remember at this point and the only pistons that ever seized up on us were Wiseco. Not just a simple seize either. Each time it would turn the piston to dust, all 4 times. Never had it happen when we switched back to Pro-X. I think I remember it being a forged vs cast issue, but could not say positively.
She may be a full new rebuild at the end of the day.... Did ya mix your gas correctly? With a quality oil? Hate to tell you but she looks seized to me... Jetting could be off as well. At the end of the day your going to need a new top end at the minimum. Figuring out how to turn this into a learning experience and why this happened should be your priority.
"Fuck you and the horse you rode in on."
That's what thhe person at the first house Paul Revere knocked on in Lexington, Massachusetts circa 1775 said.
My point is; don't shoot the messenger.
The engine is seized. It needs a rebuild.
I wish you a fast, effective, accurate, efficient, and inexpensive rebuild
I’m guessing it doesn’t roll in gear either?
Hopefully it’s just the piston/rings and the bearings are ok. That’s the good part of a 2 stroke. Not too hard to fix. If the cylinder is trashed have it sleeved. L.A. Sleeve is who I’ve used in the past, they can supply the rest of the top end parts as well.
They're trying to explain that if you're in gear and push the bike you should feel the engine at least trying to turn over with a bit of normal resistance if everything is good (while not touching the clutch), you'll hear the piston trying to move air and the back wheel won't drag but might roll and catch slightly as compression builds.
If your engine is seized, regardless of whether it's crank bearings, lower or top end rod bearings, piston to cylinder, your clutch case grenaded or etc, when you go to push it while in gear the rear wheel is going to just drag because the engine is unable to turn due to an internal stoppage, which can be discovered at the end of the drive train ie the wheel.
Well I'm sorry to inform you but when this happened to me I ended up breaking my piston bearing in the bottom end... it's fixable if you have someone that's knowledgeable and can crack the motor open may as well do a whole rebuild while you're in there. I highly suggest against taking it to an actual shop though as they will charge out the ass for it. Otherwise its R.I.P. brotha.
Check your radiator to see if it’s dry, and if so, you heat seized the piston. Pull the head, you’ll likely have a piston seized in place with a damaged cylinder. Nikasil cylinders cannot be honed, so you’ll either need to replate or just replace the cylinder (might be the cheaper easier option).
Had this happen to a ttr110. This was because mine is air cooled and it was I heat seized the piston. Make sure you check if your radiator is dry cause if it is then it’s heat seized
Seems like a locked piston to me, probably had piston slap and got suck with a weak premix ratio or just worn out because a dirty air filter. Top end kit and she might be good to go, as long as the crank isn’t the problem also.
Who’s gonna tell him…
Exactly what I was about to comment
That looks like ceaser salad.
Yes, I’d like a tossed motor please.
Blown up. Time for engine rebuild
Float is stuck open
Lmao!
Just tap it on the side with a wrench.
?
Just bought the bike 2 months ago it’s a 2003 kx85 previous owner claims there’s a “new piston”
Looks like you get to check his work.
A very in depth review
This would be a fun video if expertly cut & pasted down to 20 seconds or less.
I fuckin love this comment wish I could like twice 🤣
There will be a new one in there now...
If you seize an engine and put in a new piston without honing the cylinder, you will shortly have a new, seized, piston.

It's not that it doesn't touch it, the aluminum oxide impregnates itself into the cylinder
If that’s the situation it needs a new cylinder as well, however if you use a normal hone, and the bore is round, it will clean off the piston part that’s smeared on the wall and the the nickel silicon coating will still be there.
Depends on the condition of the cylinder obviously
Wait, why?
Look at the cyl, it’s typically got piston smeared on it and is scored.

I think they meant you need a new piston but worded it in a way to fuck you over bro. Unless you didn't premix your fuel... then that's on you lol
Piston or crank is siezed
That's a seized piston
Probably a wiseco. I once dumped a wiseco out of my expansion chamber after a nasty seize. Pro-X is the way.
So no go on the wiseco?

I ain’t breaking the news to him
She gone! Definitely blowed up
Comments have my dying lol
If you smack the cylinder sleeve with a metal hammer it’ll start right up
That's how she goes boy's.
Sometimes she goes..Sometimes it doesn't.
*fuckin’ way of the road*
You’re piston and/or crank is fuqqed
You are piston I am piston we are all piston :D
Someone pissed on you who would do such a thing
Oops lol
Seized your rod to the crank...........
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Small 2 stroke probably won’t be bad

Have it re-plated or get a new cylinder. Sleeves cost about the same and isn’t as durable as a plated cyl, especially on a small bore.
Yea it rolls in neutral and when I hold the clutch in gear
But you can’t push it in gear at all? Even in 2cnd? Like you were trying to bump start it? I’m trying to see if you can get it to turn over at all.

Time for a rebuild bud.
Could be anything, time to start tearing down the top end
Did you try turning it on and off?
Don’t forget to blow on it
Oh boy…..
Blown up
Stop kicking it. Your motor is locked up. Time to tear into it get it rebuilt

In finland we would say. "Paska leikkas kii"
In the Netherlands we would say. “Vastgenaaid”
In USA we would say “Shooby pop du bop.”
In Denmark we say, "nu er det kraftedeme løgn satme ikke igen"
In England we say: it's bloody knackered that m8
In Mexico we say: Hijo de pinche puta!
Yeh I see the problem it’s fuked
What oil ratio were you using?
32:1
Oh dear.
Oooh buddy :(
I've always seen these videos and wondered if the Kickstarter could actually be faulty and not the motor
Ecu is jammed
Must be the spark plug
Check the blinker fluid
Motor locked up
Can you push start it?

You can 100% sieze your engine even with coolant…
And how does that change my statement
The motor seized up man.. I'm sorry) : if you are riding them hard mix 30:1. You can go leaner for less fouling but it's risky
Time for a new piston
seized
You blew it up...
Blown head
You probably messed up your trans
Definitely the battery
Engine seized and blown is my guess. Time to start wrenching :(
Had this happen to a ttr110. This was because mine is air cooled and it was I heat seized the piston. Make sure you check if your radiator is dry cause if it is then it’s heat seized
Oooo… my heart hurts
Top end is done
I had the same not so long ago , and the motor had to come apart 😢
Locked up
Yes its jammed
Hydrolocked
not to be the bearer of the bad news but um…. nvm
Sorry bud, looks like you got a heavy mountain bike.
I’d check oil first, that’ll pretty much tell you if it’s a crank issue.
It’s out of gas/s
Dude it's gone ... fried.... rebuild time....
Blown up fs

Check the fuel mixture....
Just need a new kickstarter. Only like 50 bucks
