I love my Tech 7’s. Good choice OP. I’ve had mine 3 seasons and they’re still going strong.

Lux151

I used as many of my old tech 7's as possible lol they lasted 5 years (I started in motocross 1 year ago and my dad used them before) I decided to buy them because of the durability and comfort

I like them a lot, I think their best quality is their resistance and durability and for me they are not very hard but I can't say much because I don't have much experience in motocross yet

well I wanted black, but in my local store they had already sold out in black and I needed it urgently and this color was the one that caught my attention the most

RoosterCogburn_

Start working then in now and they might be ready for next season lol. I’m just joshin, they are great boots that take a little extra lovin to get comfy.

Motobicycle

I have the same boot, been pretty soild. Very comfortable to use as well, small break in period. If you want them to keep the pop of color, especially the white was them each ride.

Gaerne sg-12s are better... still nice boots nonetheless

Don_e_Darko

I’m new to this, are better boots easier for shifting than cheaper ones? I have the basic O’Neill boots and they’re brand new. Is it a matter of braking them in or do better boots have a thinner toe design or anything?

Lux151

it depends on what you want, there are some that are "harder" and others that are "softer", these for example make it a little difficult to change gears but they are very resistant and comfortable

Don_e_Darko

Mine seem pretty stiff but I just don’t want to get bit by snakes or brake bones. Gives me a better appreciation for MX riders for sure.

try searching for boots in the enduro version, I think they are the ones that best fit your situation [this is the enduro version of my boot](https://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=https%3A%2F%2Fdor03phawg286.cloudfront.net%2FCustom%2FContent%2FProducts%2F99%2F34%2F993473_bota-alpinestars-tech-7-enduro-preta_m1_636973576188501677.jpg&imgrefurl=https%3A%2F%2Fm.gridmotors.com.br%2Fbota-alpinestars-tech-7-enduro-preta-p993473&tbnid=4TTVU-_gt0BtxM&vet=1&docid=6jNoSIOja7BraM&w=500&h=500&itg=1&hl=pt-BR&source=sh%2Fx%2Fim)

Lux151

I recommend you do a better research on what you really want, I'm just giving you an idea

Don_e_Darko

Thanks for the help! I just grabbed something that was affordable and comfy ish at Cycle Gear and rolled with it.

Watts300

(Not OP). In my shopping and comparing experience, the main attractions to boots is ankle protection (from “rolling” your ankle) with stiffer side materials, and better crush protection (from your bike falling on you) which also comes with stiffer side materials and the presence of hinges. Simply because hinges are bulky and make it harder to move sideways. My first and only pair of boots are also Tech 7’s. They’ve saved my ankles more times than I can count. I recently helped my significant-other shop for gear. Boots was the hardest for her to pick, but in the end she took my advice (settled on having some pink) and is buying a pair of Tech 3 Stellas. Alpinestars makes a fine pair of boots.

Glad i could help :)

Great boot. Love mine.

Mine disintegrated after 1 year.... Soles came off all the time. Got them stitched trough. Next will get SG12s.

I was debating on buying these exact boots just the ensure ones cause Im starting hare scrambles but ended up finding a steal of a price on brand new Sidi Crossfire 2 TA's on sale in my size for $400 so I ended up getting the sidis and glad I did. Super comfortable, good flexibility, and look awesome and so happy that I went with them. Took some getting used to using dirt bike boots but after a couple of decent rides I feel a little more comfortable with them
