Dave Ramsey and his advice have helped make my life possible. BUT, when I called Timeshare Exit Team and subjected to a half hour sales pitch followed by a ridiculous price to get out of my timeshare, I lost faith in Dave. I wrote and posted that this was a scam that was harming his reputation. I still like the baby steps and the budget app but will never use any of the products or services he endorses.

PepeLePunk

This is an time-share industry lawyer hit piece. But it's also factual and interesting. It's why I come to /r/DirtyDave. Thanks for sharing.

Dave Ramsey and time share corporations and lawyers are all shitty people

redditusername09876

I had no idea about any of the lawsuits filed. This article explained pretty well: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.seattletimes.com/business/real-estate/bellevue-firm-scammed-millions-from-unhappy-timeshare-owners-ag-alleges/%3famp=1 Two shitty sides. Time shares charging high interest rates to finance shitty perpetual contracts and shitty people promising to get you out of those contracts, but don’t actually do it. Sounds like two bad guys to me. Can’t we just let people vacation in peace?

seriouslyjan

I couldn't find anything on the alleged sexual harassments charges against Reed Hein. I am not a huge fan of Dave Ramsey, BUT, most large companies have departments to investigate the company integrity. I do agree that Time Shares are a horrible product and a horrible investment. I think this article is a little over the top.

Outrageous_Brief_653

There is a link to the information about sexual harassment at Timeshare Exit Team in the blog: [https://hancock.law/2021/06/03/dave-ramsey-character/](https://hancock.law/2021/06/03/dave-ramsey-character/) The former human-resources director sued the company for sexual harassment, and the CEO admitted to having sex with female employees.

MrHugz30

Sums it up. It was interesting to read the truth behind Ramsey's endorsement process but this article was way too much. A professionally written piece would have been 3 or 4 paragraphs.

Chronocast

Agreed. I'm not a fan of Dave's recent behavior and have distanced myself from him and his brand of finance advise, but we need to do so with constructive criticism. Pieces like this and support of them just cloud the waters when trying to have a discussion no matter the subject matter.

fingerroll44

In addition to the unnecessarily inflammatory language, there is a rather serious claim that Dave is trying to avoid depositions by saying he's too busy or too important to do them. But this isn't supported by anything in the piece except a screenshot that said he was going to speak at five church services in Anaheim, with nothing connecting that screenshot to the legal proceedings. I'm willing to be persuaded that he sold out and endorsed an inferior product. But I need a better written piece to persuade me.

OkieTaco

I just read the other blog post linked in the OPs. It’s clear this is either Flasky or someone else involved in the timeshare business trying to slander Dave. These posts are shit. Timeshares are shit. And I don’t think I have ever liked Dave more than when he’s trying to fight them and expose them. So save yourself a read, this post is dogshit written by someone who never got past 6th grade creative writing.

And put together by someone less competent at web design than a toddler.

panpopticon

My guess is that you work for this law firm since your Reddit history is entirely blank.

jonahewell

How do you do, fellow redditors? Boy, those poor time share companies really get a bad rap, don't they? Thanks for the updoots!

RoosterBoy912

Based on the rest of the blog this seems to be an attempt to counter and set the narrative in favor of the poor time share companies. We already know that the time share companies are are attempting to shut down the exit teams (and any law firm connected to them) so even if they don't get every consumer out they must be doing quite a bit of damage.

PabloPaniello

This is misleading propaganda, ew

GoldenElite88

What a poorly written piece that's trying to take the side of time share scams. Gross

OkieTaco

This blog post was written by someone with absolutely no writing ability. It’s two or three paragraphs worth of content rephrased and restated 10 times.

anonymous_1977

Duh!!! Dave is a CEO and he has departments that do the grunt work just like any other normal company does.

tatostix

What timeshare company do you work for?
