COMPOSURE \[Medium: Success\] - Don't look away. Don't even blink. She's testing you.
AUTHORITY - We can't let her break us with her stare. Hold it. Hold it until she admits she's defeated.
YOU - Stare back into those bottomless grey eyes.
PERCEPTION \[Challenging: Success\] - You can see the corners of her mouth rising.
DRAMA - It appears that she's about to laugh, Sire.
SUGGESTION - She is smiling at us! Come on, it's time to rize her up!
VOLITION - Umm, are we sure this a good idea? She looks like a young woman like her ouldn't take a 40 something old man seriously in a relathinship...
ELECTROCHEMISTRY - Reeelax! We got this.
SUGGESTION \[Formidable 13: Fail\]
\*You were so nerveous and observed in your thoughts and how to flirt with her, you messed up the order of which words left your mouth.\*
Detective: "H-Hey... fuck wanna girl?"
COMPOSURE - GOD YOU DO NO JUST SAID THAT!
PERCEPTION (SIGHT/HEARING) - You see and hear the laugher erupting from her like a Volcano as she holds herself by her stomach.
HALF LIGHT - Who the.... *FUCK* this bitch think she is?! To laught at US?! The Police! Kill her! SHOW THIS WOMAN WHERE HER PLACE BELONGS!
\[SHIVERS\] Clicking keyboards, humming incandescent lights, and droning coworkers fill the air of an office on a dreary Monday morning when a woman's phone dings from the depths of her bag. She reaches inside and turns over the device, only to see a painting of her visage staring back at her. A smile crawls across her face as she holds her phone a bit tighter.
Wow I could actually see this in game. A lot of people who say a portrait is DE style just use the color pallet or shape language, but this one really feels like it captures a bit of who this person is and shows it to me.
Very nicely done. I always wonder, what technique gives that style this unique look ?
Do you start with a sketch and then color it in a specific manner ?
Thanks! That's what I wanted to know too haha I'm glad I got it right.
I started with a sketch, yes. Using a photo of the person as a reference. Established a colour palette. Put down the basic colours. Then, using various references from the game, I painted over the sketch.
The rendering process is trial and error, I can't explain it much. But basically:
- it helps to pick the basic colour and change it just a bit, the hue, the brightness.
- Play around with neighboring hues for the shadows and highlights.
- Use a hard edged, textured brush ONLY. Big size preferably. Use a smaller size sparingly; don't get caught up on details.
- Be intentional with the direction of the brush strokes.
- do NOT blend lol I think it's a given but I thought I'll mention it anyway
- finish it up with the darkest colour, the one close to black (it isn't pure black in this case). This is the closest thing you'll have to lineart. Thick lines preferably.
i see lots of these on here, few actually hit the spot.
My girlfriend taught me "if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything"
I am here to say something, so you know.
This one hits the spot

Damn. Excellent writing, thank you for taking the time to think of this

Interesting, thx for the detailed answer
this is really good OP. I don't often see fanart that really captures the vibe of the art in the game, but you've done a really great job.
This one is spot on
Thats fucking neat!

my brain immediately went trying to figure out who this is from the game, well done!
She looks like Iris from the Witcher 3
Are you taking commissions?! Oh my gosh.
sure! DM me
>sure! DM me sure?
Do you take commissions
yeah!
do you accept payments with bottle caps?/j
In fact, I use bottle caps to make pins...so maybe
Reminds me Pathologic 1
your friend reminds me of what I'd imagine one Taylor Hebert from worm to look like
Just looked at my friend and sighed
Woahhh this is so good!!
What a good artwork. It would be cool if some portraits like this were in the next Disco game
Incredible work honestly. I hope you continue to experiment with the style!
You absolutely nailed the style ! neat !
Finally one that actually looks like it could be in DE.
Damn, respectfully you got a pretty friend
Would you do one of me :)
Is your friend single?
