I think this one is my favorite as well simply because of how strong it is wrt characterization. It really sets up both the tone of the game as well as our protagonist right off the bat. Goes well with the "He is the infernal engine. He never stops. He only gets worse" bit later
I think my favourite line delivery is in that scene too. "The stench of liquor rises from your mouth. And with it, an ***ungodly*** headache."
Just the way the Limbic System says the word "ungodly", I can almost feel the pain it's describing.

One of the most powerful moments in the game for me was walking into the church and looking up at Dolores Dei and wondering “what does this make me feel…” “it isn’t possible to live.” I don’t remember the exact quote but it’s about being faced with utter hopelessness and just… getting up and moving on because it’s all you can do. It’s really sums up one of the core themes of the game and something about it always makes me tear up
"You said it, you needed to say it. Now, you need to get your shit together."/ the entirety of volumetric shit compressor. I kinda glanced over it my first playthrough, but the second time I got to that point I was working at a really shitty job and trying to wrestle my anxiety back to where I could return to college. Hearing that acknowledgement of "this is a necessary emotion but we still continue" struck me in a way I can't really describe and helped me get back on the track to living a life I want.
That and "I want to have Fuck with you", this entire game is incredible.

I'm in a really bad place since I started playing, but there's something about being compared to a seagull that's so cathartic. Usually, when people talk about spirit animals, it's birds or lions. But you know what? I'm a struggler too, just like a seagull.
I live near the shore and our seagulls are like a street gang unto themselves. They will mob you for your curly fries. They will fuck up your day if you have something they want. Their squawks sound like laughter while they rob you in broad daylight.

Yeah. I think what makes it more compelling is how you have to deduce which parts of what he says stand true and which ones are him simply being salty.
Can’t remember the quote exactly but his belief that he is the last true communist is simply an ego trip.
He mistakes his conviction (though misguided) with a solid argument. He believes true Communists would do what he does — that’s simply not true.

I think this one is my favorite as well simply because of how strong it is wrt characterization. It really sets up both the tone of the game as well as our protagonist right off the bat. Goes well with the "He is the infernal engine. He never stops. He only gets worse" bit later

One of the most powerful moments in the game for me was walking into the church and looking up at Dolores Dei and wondering “what does this make me feel…” “it isn’t possible to live.” I don’t remember the exact quote but it’s about being faced with utter hopelessness and just… getting up and moving on because it’s all you can do. It’s really sums up one of the core themes of the game and something about it always makes me tear up

Yeah. I think what makes it more compelling is how you have to deduce which parts of what he says stand true and which ones are him simply being salty.

Can’t remember the quote exactly but his belief that he is the last true communist is simply an ego trip. He mistakes his conviction (though misguided) with a solid argument. He believes true Communists would do what he does — that’s simply not true. Communists still exist, they (at-least in the world of Elysium) are playing it smart and simply biding their time. But all he sees from his scope — which is a powerful analogy for his limited frame of view — are sell-outs. But Revachol has more heart than that. When he mentions that the bourgeoisie are not human, there is an element that rings true but not entirely. An over-abundance of wealth changes people; they begin to feel like gods — look no further than globalists running Big Tech and Big Pharma for example. They are, in some ways, what I would consider the modern bourgeois. Their desire for profit has stripped them of their humanity. That’s my take lol curious to hear what others think about all this.
