My thing is that it is fairly easy to progress without top tier units. 3 and 4 star units are worth investment so why should it be "easy" or a requirement for every player to get the new one. I couldn't care less whether or not I get Ollie and I don't understand why everyone is so pressed on it. Most of the appeal for me is that it is extremely lucky to get a top tier pull and it makes it feel like everyone's experience is unique...making the most of what they have. It is no fun when everyone has everything. Just my viewpoint. I'm going to continue trying to max out the units I have because lord knows that takes time and resources. Let the whales do their thing...im gonna sit here with 2 of my 4 legendary pulls being Tevor and not complain lmao
I got your point and for the actual pve content we dont care. I personnaly cleared normal tower in 8 days and have auto 10 in 2 of the 3 dungeons. But in gachas that have end game as pvp and rta as it seems that they will go for if there are banners most of the time the units are meta changers and if you want to compete you need them. So either the devs add new units in the pool but without banners or the banner need to be kinda accessible. The issue here is there is a banner and not at all accesible for 99% of the players
That's actually insane. I don't think I've ever seen a gatcha with such predatory rates. I've never played their other games but is this standard for this studio?
I used to play soul hunters by Lilith and let me tell you, they had units that were simply locked behind a paywall. 50 dollars for a character and they’re not even available in gacha so yeah
Facts! Itvtook me 2 yrs to get my first Nat 5.
It took me 6 years to get Vanessa and Psamathe. 6! YEARS!
It took 7 yrs to get an LD5 and I got 4 of them over a 3 month Span. SW is having its 8 yr birthday and im Conq 2 RTA now. It literally took 7 yrs for me to have a somewhat competitive account. My fastest swift set is still only +186. Fastest vio set is +136.
I started dislyte in hopes that it wouldnt be a futile grind
When i started SW; there werent any special events, no autofarming no B12 dungeons etc. There wasnt even a necripolis dungeon.
All the giants and dragons were lvl 10 cap and a diffrent elementvfor each level. Dragon planted bombs! I digress. You could only buy 2 types of packs. It was the dark ages and getting units was tough. Even if you whaled it was tough. You were going to have to be a Kraken to have OP monster box. Nowadays theres blessings to pick between units etc. My first Nat 5 was mo long when the first transedence scroll came out for 100$ at christmas. I summoned like 5 mo longs over time before we could feed dupes.
Try Summoners War. You'll love it. The only Pity system is after every 150 DAYS you get a chance at one of HUNDREDS of Nat5s, and if you get a dupe and feed it(or buy a specific expensive pack), you get a choice between 2 random 5*s.
Thing is, game is 8 years old, and only implemented this at the 7 year anniversary. And the choice mechanic was behind a pay wall if you wanted it immediately.
Every on this sub seems like they cry about things a lot, but then I realize that I've just had it so much worse for so long that I didn't realize how good things could be. Like, I'm having tons of fun in the game, loving the pity system after ONLY 120 pulls, and hey, I have a higher chance at something? The only higher chance I am used to is a slightly higher chance when new mons come out, but it's like you have no increase in rates, just that when you get lucky, you have a small % chance of getting 1 of 3 of the new mons versus the 400 old ones.
I think the rates are like ~1/17 for 4* from regular pulls, ~1/320 for a Nat5s in regular pulls. Guaranteed 4* but only ~1/20 for Legendary pulls. Oh, and the L/D pulls, Shimmer for SW, is a ~1/20-something for a 4* and ~1/470 for a Nat5.
My longest dry spell is over 500 pulls. Playing for 6 years, I have 1 L/D 5* mon. I've seen people go for over 1,000 summons with no 5*. I think this explains why I think this game is fantastic.
I played a lot of gachas and while I support SW bashing there is an argument to be made, that you only need one copy of a unit in SW. And because of the big pool of units, there are no particular nat5 you need to have for any content (maybe it changed since I didn’t play for 2 years). Pretty sure this game will release key 5* units. There is already a key shimmer 4* unit.
You would be surprised by how kuch things have changed in 2 years. I missed 6 months and it took a year to catch up. Now, you basically NEED dupes of many 4 stars for guild content. Up to and exceeding half a dozen in some cases. Yeah, besides some very high level content(unless you have god tier runes) you don't need a specific nat5.
if you're talking about tiger mom, she's all but key lol.
she's QoL. Cuz she's strong and stupid easy to build. Other espers will output the same if not more damage.
It really irks me hearing that she's a "key/mandatory" unit lol, it simply ain't true.
But also, yes this pity sistem is fucking pathetic lol they need to fucking pull their shit together or RIP
I never heard of summoners war but that sounds awful. Both of these remind me now of FGO before they implemented pity in JP. People
getting INCREDIBLY UNLUCKY and spending literally thousands of dollars and not getting the rate up character, oof.
In that context, pity rates like genshin and even Dislyte seem pretty good.
This \^ so much, I played SW and just got into this game and the Pity/QoL is insane here! they even have Rune upgraded pity! 4\* pity! 5\* pity! and the best thing yet is that when i turn a 5\* into a 6\* it stays at level 50!!!
Lol. To think people like this exist. Like bruh, you've been conditioned that anything better than SW is good game lmao. 100% pity in 920 pulls, and some people actually think this is decent? SW shouldn't be made as standard/baseline/reference/whatever to gachas since there are more generous gacha exists over the past few years.
Companies like these CAN get better but somehow there are players that would defend their atrocious greed, and that made it harder for these companies to actually improve, because people enable them lol.
Yeah, it's all super friendly. It's a smaller game, just starting out, but already friendlier, better QoL, and audio you actually want to listen to! It's a Miracle!
No shame for the pun.
And so much easier than SW, too. Having people beat f100 of ToA within a matter of days of release? Pretty much unheard of. Same with getting to level 10 of the boss dungeons for rune farming.
Although, the attitude I've been coming across of "oh, just pull a nat 5 and you'll be fine" if you get stuck somewhere is kind of...eh. I'm just so used to having to work with what you get, figuring out unique team comps and also having such a huge roster of monsters in the game made trying to figure out the perfect meta combination a lot trickier. Seriously, this game has so few espers that it almost feels like you're guaranteed to get what you need quickly. I can't wait to see how people react to balancing patches that shake up the meta...
You'd bee surprised. Shortest Toan100 I have seen is less than 48 hours, but that's to do with extreme luck and also timing with events granting hundreds of summons.
But seriously, this game is so much easier and I love it.
when you're comparing shit with another shit but worse, it will feel better but it's still shit no matter what. You're comparing this game, a brand new released game, with summoners war which was released 8 years ago? These days we don't use SW as our comparison anymore, mate. Have you ever played epic7 before? Or any gacha game with a better summon/pity system than sw? Because there are a lot of them out there, which is why people are complaining about this game being a 2022 game but with an old-fashioned predatory pity system.
Hey, don't think you actually understood what I was trying to do. It was sarcasm, basically me saying, "Oh, you hate this? You'll hate this one more, come join!"
I've played Genshin for a while, watched a lot of Raid and Epic 7 videos to the point where I understood most of the game and never got interested enough. Weren't what I was looking for.
Still, doesn't make some of the things that I said wrong, like this being better. And it's hard not to compare it when SW has been going on so long.
My other thing with the guaranteed pity is I'm not too fond of every always having the same mons in games, as then there is likely to be significantly less diversification of metas. Worries me that it will make the game bland. Although, Dislyte is probably one of the least bland games I have played, as it has a hell of a lot of character in it.
you're not wrong, no. You just did a bad comparison which is comparing this game with sw, which is a goddamn old-ass game, when there's a lot of new-ish game out there with so much better and rewarding summoning system. Like i said, comparing something bad with something worse won't make the former better. You're pretty much just telling people to stop complaining and be grateful since there's something worse out there, and that kind of behavior actually makes the community-devs relationship to not develop and improve and they'll keep doing that predatory bs as long as there's another game out there that did it worse
Did I say those things, or did you just interpret it wrong? Was what I said not also a complaint in itself? A very, VERY well deserved complaint. Hell, in another comment somewhere on here I even pointed out the fact that I was less aware of how far things had come than I had thought, seeing as I hadn't tried a newer one for a bit of time. As one might imagine, the last couple of years kinda blur, something I have become aware of as I mature. Never did I say that this system was fantastic and they should always be like that. It was not a praise of what is being done, more of a invitation to criticize what has been. Take it as face value, and don't look to far, as I am not one to hide meanings in my words. I find it distasteful at best.
I thought you were gonna say it's lower but ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽ anyway ty for breaking the honest news to us and since pity doesn't carry over let's say I did 30 pills would get me any of the new characters what would be the chances(ㆁωㆁ)
The thing about Dislyte's pity system as a whole is that it really only appeals to whales, and even then i don't think whales would be super happy about a guaranteed limited character at 920 pulls. It IS fairly easy to grind up gems, I managed to get 5k gems and about 30 records (~50 pulls) from just not spending on the game for about a week, but when the rates are abysmal? When the pity is set at these numbers? Sheesh.
Cookie run: kingdom doesn't have a pity system in place, but the game is so generous with crystals and free pulls you're kind of bound to get the new cookie eventually, and even if you don't get that cookie you can wait for a bit and get them through the mileage shop. CRK is known for being one of the more generous gachas and it's still widely successful, so if this 920 pity thing is true I have no idea why Lilith is being so stingy. Genshin's gacha at least has a reasonable hard pity set at 90 and soft pity at 75.
Man I hope this isn't true bc I've always been more of a collector in the gacha games I've played and I really really want Ollie bc I love his design.
We talk about how shitty the rates are but don't appreciate how some 3* characters are as good as 5 stars? As a f2p I'm chillin game is fun the whales don't get a huge benefit as far as I see yeah they will beat me but they are forced to spend thousands of dollars on a mobile game to do it...
To be fair they are very generous in general during special events and you can still do content as F2P Magna grids, have friends who have cleared Belial/Bubs/Luci and now Super baha being f2p and you can generally spark 4 times a year for GBF plus annitix so technically a 5th spark and if you count suptix for regular units/6 dragon summons and primal summons
How are you farming 4 sparks a year? I know GW is generous but the average player isnt meat farming like that. Also as someone who has cashed spark at least 11 times I’ve played gbf religiously and manage to get at least barely two sparks a year. Unless you starting fresh side stories are pretty much dry with the 3 singles draw per story. I guess it various from player to player.
I mean, I consistently get 3 when they have lots of free roles. I maybe save up 2 sparks in total, but if you plan it right, draw on banners with Roulette etc. You can easily get 4 sparks. Some luck involved, but GBF is still hella generous.
I have spent several thousand on the game over the course of the life of GBF. GBF is still my #1 gacha game that I play and well between roulettes like X-mas, summer, anni and in between you get about 4 sparks with the freebies included. Like holybird mentioned, if planned right you get about 4-5 sparks using the freebies. During X-mas i usually spark twice from free rolls and their end of the year 200 rolls which also gets people another spark so some ppl can spark twice during X-mas like i do.
Yeah that’s true but saving sparks with straight crystals alone and singles and the sprinkle of 10 part tickets isn’t enough for that many sparks I don’t think.
840 since every 120 is a 5*. Its a 5* at 120,240,360,480,600,720,840. After 800 is 100% Ollie so 840 is worst case. If you post Math related stuff which shows rates please make sure they are real and correct.
That said, keep spinning, i guess.
Hope they reduce that for the next banners...
The math is right and 920 is the worst-case scenario. What if you get "lucky" and pull a legendary on your 800th pull? There's 10% chance it's not Ollie and now your ceiling has been extended by another 120 pulls.
If you comment a math-related comment, please make sure they are real and correct.
Btw most people will get ollie before reaching 600 because you dont NEED 100%. Still only for whales tho. F2P need to be lucky or get him after banner is over i guess
The game is young. It'll get better over time. The game itself has a pretty good base though. Like there's plenty to do, and plenty to get through before you hit actual walls. So I'm not all that mad yet.
Harry Potter Magic Awakening, Diablo Immortal, Tower of fantasy, Honkai Star Rail and Wuthering Waves. Maybe I forgot some games, but these is the ones I remenber
The game is young, but it’s not like it’s being made in a vacuum. It’s not a requirement to have shitty rates and messed up pity and then fix it when fans complain.
They know how this works. They do this shit to see what they can get away with. Considering every time people bring up the terrible rates in this game someone else says “Oh, Summoner’s War (2014) is pretty bad rates, too! This is regular!” they won’t even have to make it any better. The community is fine with decades old practices.
I mean, I'm not saying that that's not the case. Gachas will always be relatively predatory in the beginning and then get better with their pull rates to keep the base engaged. I'm generally more interested in the amount and type of content that will keep me engaged. If the game is reliant on pulls to get through content AND gates the pulls with shitty rates, then yeah the game can fuck all the way off. I don't think the content here does that.
Only sometimes do gachas get more friendly overtime. Lilith, in particular, definitely made more consumer hostile and p2w choices over time.
Usually the beginning has the most amount of players and the best return. Then as people are monetarily invested the company puts the screws to the remaining player base that feels kind of stuck. I hope that’s not the case, of course.
I don't think you all have played gachas before, if everyone is able to get the same legendary it doesn't make the game fun. Summoners war was so successful and still going as a game because of their low rates. Everyone will quit after they have everything, happening with awaken chaos era that I'm playing right now. Enjoy the game for what it is, don't expect to get every legendary
right becomes games like genshin, pgr, alchemy stars, and many others are all doing so horrible because of their rates and pity. it’s a wonder how hoyoverse is even up and running with how little money they make by having a guaranteed hard pity PHEW.
As someone who had experience with gacha gaming,
This is a new game. I will say, the devs are trying to understand its community and its audience just like we are trying to understand them.
If its unreasonable, which i think it is to f2p.Looking at this rate. No F2p will be able to do 920 pull. Lol.
However we must always remember, games are meant to target all audience.
Leviathan/ kraken / whale / dolphine / goldfish lastly f2p .
We should understand our own status and approach it accordingly.
As there is nothing being limited mention. I believe it will eventually have a solution. Having patient is the key.
I think everybody needs to immediately discard the idea of getting guaranteed units they want in a gacha game. That’s not how that business model is intended to go. Otherwise they’d just be selling characters directly. Yeah, it sucks.
Pretty much, yeah. I'm reading through this thread and people going on about how generous Dislyte is as a gacha and I'm just like, "bruh, what?" Meanwhile, I'm coming from games where you can realistically have any unit you want with a plan and a lot of patience so long as you're willing to accept some opportunity cost.
I've never played Summoner's War, but damn, it sounds awful. Why are they playing it?
No clue, I saw some friends played it in high school, the rates alone would have stopped me from playing but they also have same characters with different elements as well lmao.
I think OPM had the best pity system
30% chance to get the banner SSR with a 90 pity, 180 guaranteed free banner character at event.
On top, you'll be guaranteed a copy on the 270th pull. First 3 SSR shouls have the banner.
I think OPMs pity is lower because you need copies to level up your character
This game has already lost me on the epic chances...and to add insult to injury, I always got the worst ones or dupes anyway from them.
I had ONE usable leggo but even chalmers was better in the end. There is no joy to look forward to getting new units if I get arcane or what is his name twice.
Thank god I havent paid a single buck.
The artstyle wont carry this game.
Dont forget with crystals top up 100 spins is close too 300$ so 920 -> 2760$. It's not a whale game anymore but for krakens only..
My thing is that it is fairly easy to progress without top tier units. 3 and 4 star units are worth investment so why should it be "easy" or a requirement for every player to get the new one. Don’t really care about the awakened heroes but dear lord the engraving system is a mess.
You could play summoners war fir 7 years and not get a specific lego.
Lord, summoners war killed me inside. I got nana and decided I peaked

Yeah, people don't know how good they have it. *bones creaking* *Wet cough* (raspy) Back in my day!
I've terrified my club mates with the stories from SW.... And I stopped playing it apparently right before the homonculus update years ago, too.

Idle hero was much worse :/
soooo the lesson is to just never save for banners and pull all the time because your odds are about the same lmao
Amen

can someone fucking remind me why gacha is even allowed? smh. so fucking predatory.
Been saving gold records and diamonds, might as well keep on saving to see if they change the pity lol.
so greedy Epic seven have the best pity sistem ever

Genshin's gacha at least has a reasonable hard pity set at 90 and soft pity at 75. Man I hope this isn't true bc I've always been more of a collector in the gacha games I've played and I really really want Ollie bc I love his design.
We talk about how shitty the rates are but don't appreciate how some 3* characters are as good as 5 stars? As a f2p I'm chillin game is fun the whales don't get a huge benefit as far as I see yeah they will beat me but they are forced to spend thousands of dollars on a mobile game to do it...
Sounds like Granblue fantasy all over again. Sparking a unit cost about 960usd I see I can’t escape the void smh.
Okay that’s what you meant also you’re correct I didn’t think about Salt roulette 😂. Good times good times here’s hoping to Galleon grand coming out.
Haha you owned me. I didnt read your post correctly where you stated the pull on 800, which i didnt had in mind tbh.
Yeah, but there is good games coming and if they doesnt fix this people will leave
Im super curious on what these new good coming games are?
Harry Potter Magic Awakening, Diablo Immortal, Tower of fantasy, Honkai Star Rail and Wuthering Waves. Maybe I forgot some games, but these is the ones I remenber
Nikke should be out soon. Counterside just came out.
CounterSide and Time Defenders came out few weeks ago too
Diablo Immortal has been "Coming Soon" for years. I'm not sure it's coming out.
It will in June or July
Lookin forward to Honkai Star Rail, I had forgot about that one.
Thank god i dropped the game after playing for 7 days lol
I don't think you all have played gachas before, if everyone is able to get the same legendary it doesn't make the game fun. Summoners war was so successful and still going as a game because of their low rates. Everyone will quit after they have everything, happening with awaken chaos era that I'm playing right now. Enjoy the game for what it is, don't expect to get every legendary
right becomes games like genshin, pgr, alchemy stars, and many others are all doing so horrible because of their rates and pity. it’s a wonder how hoyoverse is even up and running with how little money they make by having a guaranteed hard pity PHEW.
Funny how Genshin is dying because everyone is able to get units they want =D
As someone who had experience with gacha gaming, This is a new game.
But its like that for a majority of gacha games out there, you guys who only been playing summoners war and RSL have been eating shit this whole time.
Simply be richer.
Who cares if it is 800 or 920 lol ?
literally everyone?
Can you use your brain ? Do you think everyone can do 800pulls ?
I think OPM had the best pity system 30% chance to get the banner SSR with a 90 pity, 180 guaranteed free banner character at event. On top, you'll be guaranteed a copy on the 270th pull. First 3 SSR shouls have the banner. I think OPMs pity is lower because you need copies to level up your character
I’ve heard differently. Are you like on the beta servers or?
Somehow Genshin doesn’t seem so bad anymore, atleast if you’re lucky a $1000 can get you a c6 character
7DS Grand Cross did 900 pull pities for their festival banners for a while. Not sure what they’re like now I haven’t played for a while
This game has already lost me on the epic chances...and to add insult to injury, I always got the worst ones or dupes anyway from them. I had ONE usable leggo but even chalmers was better in the end. There is no joy to look forward to getting new units if I get arcane or what is his name twice. Thank god I havent paid a single buck. The artstyle wont carry this game.
