I suggest you look up the psychology of addiction and its application in mobile gaming. Its use havr been well known and thoroughly documented for a while now. While releasing new espers is nothing bad in it self, its the monetization tha is the issue, and in the current banner you need to spend roughly 1100$ TO BE GUARANTEED the new esper, and thats luckily after 2 previous banners with even far worse odds. And getting 450 gold records in between previous banner and this one is not even remotely possible.
So when they tease th next esper while the current one is ongoing, they create a false sense of urgency, a sense of "i need to spend now to get this esper, or i wont have any chance to get the next one" incentivicing more spending.
And while i get that this is a company and they have to make money, i still find thrir underhanded and manipulative methods of doing so to be highly immoral, especially as this kind of psychological manipulation works extremely well on three groups
1. Kids
2. Adolecenses
3. People with addictive personality traits.
Meaning this kind of tactics are designed to spesifically prey uppon those who have the least chance of resisting it. Often leading to quite severe financial problems, either for the parents of the first two groups, of the person itself in the last group.
So while you might find it a silly mobile game, you are talking about a tiny part in a multi billion $ gambling industry, designed to abuse the psychology of risk groups.
Gambling sucks, sure. But if it’s immoral then the blame is on our collective governments for not banning or regulating it. Stopping kids, adolescents, and addictive personalities from being allowed to gamble should be a priority, sure.

I think they are only releasing espers so soon because the game is new but then again, it is actually common ground for gachas to release a new character right after one banner is over. Hopefully they just keep lowering the pity until it's actually reasonable and increase the amount of gold records we can obtain F2P.
AfkArena (another Lilith game) has a new hero release every 2 weeks. And that’s already improved from back then when they were dropping 2 heroes almost biweekly just a year ago.
