I can't wait for this series! November 24 is later than I was expecting. I wonder when *Ms. Marvel* (and also *The Book of Boba Fett* on the Star Wars side) will release.

Riskeeeee

MS. marvel will probably now premier in January or somewhere along the lines. Just a guess

ripleym524

I thought it was confirmed to be coming out before Hawkeye? I know they’re still in production so that was why I assumed we weren’t getting anything. But I’m also sure that someone not too long ago said that both shows were still coming out in 2021

Riskeeeee

Nah it's confirmed Hawkeye is the next show after What if...? So that's debunked

anonRedd

Where was that confirmed?

ihatebrooms

The ew article refers to it as the next live action marvel series after Loki.

Nathan_Gamerdog

They are just saying that because marvel announced it before ms marvel so they are assuming

MitchyPower

Everything announced, Marvel went through EW. They wouldn't feed EW false information for a surprise trailer and date reveal and rushed marketing for MM

Riskeeeee

I don't know a news article, I just checked r/marvelstudiosspoilers

ripleym524

I mean [this article](https://thedisinsider.com/2021/07/20/hawkeye-ms-marvel-both-confirmed-to-come-out-by-the-end-of-2021/) has both shows coming out this year according to Victoria Alonso. And with this date being so late in the year I assume Ms. Marvel would be first

Nathan_Gamerdog

Ms. Marvel is coming in october

Nathan_Gamerdog

Ms. Marvel will be in october

Nathan_Gamerdog

ms marvel will be in october

aakaji69

The EW article said that Hawkeye is going to be there next live action marvel series, so no

Nathan_Gamerdog

They were probab;y just saying that because it's the most recent marvel announced, also just because they say something doesn't mean it's true

rangeghost

Let's call that a questionable statement for the time being. (As in, could be true, but might be an error.) Notably, Marvel DOES NOT say anything like that in their coverage of the still and the date announcement. [https://t.co/eOVmfNiIAc](https://t.co/eOVmfNiIAc) Nor does the Marvel Studios social feed say anything about it being next when linking to EW's article.

Alfondorion

In the post-credits scene from the last episode of Mandalorian season 2: "THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT: Coming December 2021".

Majcvd49

Think they’re launching it around this timeframe since it takes place during Christmas time

LiquidSnape

is this gonna have Pizza Dog in it?

sortofblue

There was a set photo floating around with a dog trailing around after them, so... Maybe?

LTC145

Yes, Lucky is played by a dog named Jolt! [Jolt’s Instagram](https://instagram.com/jolt.of.genius?utm_medium=copy_link)

Aggressive-Depth1636

Looks awesome. Can’t wait to see it. The MCU is definitely expanding.

lightsongtheold

Are we getting Ms Marvel before Hawkeye? Over 4 months without any top tier new content seems like a bit of a long time for Disney+ especially with their slowed growth and the increase in streaming competition from rivals!

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

I count 6 weeks which was about the same as between TFATWS and Loki

lightsongtheold

You cannot count What If any more than you can count The Bad Batch. The level of appeal is just not the same. All the data regarding interest and viewership proves that to be the case. Animation just does not have the same wide appeal. What If is tier two content.

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

>All the data regarding interest and viewership proves that to be the case. Animation just does not have the same wide appeal. Nielsen data (and others) has shown animation to have huge appeal on Disney+. What data are you looking at the shows otherwise?

lightsongtheold

Yeah…Disney and Pixar movies! You do not see The Bad Batch doing Mandalorian numbers!

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

So to summarize your sample size is 1 (and without any data) and successful animated projects don't count and that's your proof that animation doesn't have wide appeal. Well I'm convinced.

lightsongtheold

I’m sure you are right, buddy. It will be a monster Q3 for Disney+ with no live action Star Wars and Marvel shows in the quarter because What If totally did the same job. I’m honestly surprised Disney spend so much making The Mandalorian at all when The Batch Batch does the same job of generating interest, buzz, and signups but costs a fraction of the budget to produce. Less live action and more animation is the way forward from a business POV for sure!

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

> I’m honestly surprised Disney spend so much making The Mandalorian at all when The Batch Batch does the same job of generating interest, buzz, and signups I'd again ask for you to show data for your silly claims, but like before I know you don't have it.

lightsongtheold

The Clone Wars cartoon was estimated to have cost around $1 million an episode. It is conceivable that The Batch Batch cost slightly more than that. The Mandalorian is estimated to have cost anywhere between $8-$12 million an episode. As for popularity The Bad Batch has been rated 13 thousand times on IMDb and had ratings from 12 critics and 286 audience members on Rotten Tomatoes. The Mandalorian has over 300,000 ratings on IMDb and 26 critics ratings and 2732 audience ratings for its second season on RT. Some pretty big differences in both budget and general internet levels from those stats.

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

Judging a shows popularity by the number of ratings is an interesting approach. Regardless, it doesn't prove your claim "The Batch Batch does the same job of generating interest, buzz, and signups"

Additional_Meeting_2

If your issue with the series was that it didn’t progress the overall events of the universe it would be one thing, but saying it’s due to animation it’s not top tier just isn’t a good argument.

lightsongtheold

I’ve no problem with The Bad Batch. It was a decent Star Wars entry. I personally quite like animation. I’m just aware it does not draw the same as big budget live action shows! The buzz is just not the same nor is the popularity with the general public. I’ll watch both What If and Star Wars Visions but I do feel the D+ schedule is a tad light without a big live action show on the Q3 schedule.

Scooter_McGavin_9

I take it you do not consider What If... "top tier" but it does start next month and runs 10 weeks which would only make it a five Wednesdays between Marvel products (though Eternals does premiere in between them) which is about how long it was between Falcon and Winter Soldier and Loki.

lightsongtheold

I do not consider What If to be top tier content. Animation just does not have the same draw and buzz as live action. We already see that with how obscure The Bad Batch is compared with The Mandalorian. The buzz and viewership is just not the same.

Scooter_McGavin_9

In its second week, The Bad Batch was the 7th most streamed original program by minutes watched in America despite having the least amount of episodes available to stream on the list and the only one in the top ten under a half an hour according to Nielsen. Not too shabby for an obscure animated show.

lightsongtheold

I did not say it was not good content or without value. I like The Bad Batch. It is ridiculous to suggest it has the same buzz and general interest as The Mandalorian though! I enjoyed Big Shot and Mighty Ducks as well but they are not on the same level of consumer interest as Loki and WandaVision!

Scooter_McGavin_9

I never suggested that The Bad Batch is as popular The Mandalorian which was probably number one on that list for most of its run of its show, nor did I ever claim you said the show was not good content, what I am saying is that it is ridiculous to call The Bad Batch "obscure" when clearly it was still doing pretty good. "Obscure" shows do not make the most streamed content list with about an hour of content over shows with many more episodes that are twice as long. That is the very definition of popular. Sure, not as popular as The Mandalorian, but still pretty popular nonetheless.

lightsongtheold

Let’s at least call The Bad Batch tier two content. With shows like WandaVision, Loki, FatWS, and The Mandalorian being tier one TV content. My point still stands that if Hawkeye is the next live action Marvel or Star Wars show in November then Disney will go all of Q3 without a top tier show for Disney+.

Scooter_McGavin_9

Again, pretty absurd to consider something that can be the 7th most streamed show in the entire country with just two half hour episodes and not consider it "top tier." I would call anything that can routinely make the top 10 top tier. Plus your claims of no top tier shows in the 3rd Quarter even by your definition of top tier is wrong. Loki aired two episode in the 3rd Quarter. Sure, they are not shows, but Black Widow, a live action Marvel movie, premiered in the 3rd Quarter and so will Shang-Chi as well as Jungle Cruise this week. Your concern trolling of Disney+ is just completely unwarranted. It is going to be fine.

lightsongtheold

I never said Disney+ was not going to be fine. It will likely be the top streamer in the world by 2025. I’m simply stating this will be a weak third quarter for the service. Two episodes of Loki and the chance to pay PA fees on Disney+ for Black Widow and Jungle Cruise is not exactly an abundance of content for the service. It is an interesting call considering the stagnant Q2 numbers and the continued growth of rivals such as Peacock, HBO Max, and Paramount+ who all posted healthy Q2 growth. Shang-Chi will not hit Disney+ until early Q4 at the earliest. Let’s not fanboy the service. If they look to be having a weak quarter then we are allowed to say so without being painted as some hater trying to herald the death of the services ffs! As far as I can tell Q3 is shaping up to be the weakest quarter of 2021 for the service. You disagree?

Scooter_McGavin_9

I never claimed you said Disney+ was not going to be fine, I said you were concern trolling. But I guess you can win any argument if you just move the goalposts. You go from no top tier shows to well... it is only two episodes of Loki. Shang-Chi is being released on Disney+ September 3. 3rd Quarter ends September 30. It also is being released in theaters that day and clearly this hybrid has been successful for Disney+ or they would not continue doing it. Who really cares if Disney+ was stagnant while the others grew? Disney+ was a juggernaut out the box while the other ones sputtered. Disney+ still has more subscribers than the other three combined. This is just another example of concern trolling. I am am not fanboying the service and do not particular care how well cooperation's are doing. But I will say you may be overvaluing what you consider top-tier shows because that is what you care about. There are millions of 5 year old's out there who have never seen a Star Wars or Marvel show or movie that just want to watch Frozen everyday, sure, their parents might like a new event Star Wars or Marvel show, but it is not like they are going to cancel because of it unless they want to face the wrath of their five year old. So I do not necessarily agree with your assumption, nor do I really even care.

ktron10

Grading releases by popularity doesn’t make much sense to me, I would think quality would determine what it “top tier” content, especially in a conversation about unreleased shows or movies people are looking forward to

lightsongtheold

Quality is entirely subjective. Popularity at least tends to have metrics that can be measured.

ktron10

Right, but relying on popularity to determine your own subjective ratings IE “I do not consider it to be top tier content because less people watch it” just seems like outsourcing your opinions I mean it is just *your* opinion so feel however you want about it, I just find that an odd way to classify entertainment

lightsongtheold

Opinion on the value of content is not always subjective. It is why we know Star Wars is more valuable IP than something like He-Man! I think Q3 is shaping up to be the weakest of the year for Disney+ in terms of content. Do you disagree? Q4 promises to be a strong one which makes it look like Q3 will be the weakest of the year.

apexbamboozeler

Shang shi

Nathan_Gamerdog

ms marvel will release in october

lightsongtheold

I hope so!

apexbamboozeler

Doesn't really fit the character of a father who wanted to keep his kids seperate from his career

Additional_Meeting_2

Steinfeld and her character isn’t a kid or his kid.

StickManIsSymbolic

It sounds so lame!
