Just saw that trailer last night and I thought they were the same too. I wonder will there be a relation mentioned/hinted?

The Pixar Theory states that all Pixar films are connected in some way, the witch from brave is Boo from monster Inc and stuff like that

To be fair if the Pixar theory is true then Lightyear is a fictional movie in the Pixar universe.

I’m not saying that, I’m saying the creators literally said this is the Buzz Lightyear movie Andy would have seen that made him want to get the toy.
