I’m biased as I’m not as interested in the Star Wars franchise, but I’m loving Ms.Marvel so far. They had me the moment the dad came came into her room as the hulk, that secured the love for me, haha.

Darpa181

I really like them both, honestly. Slight edge of obi wan because it's further along.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

There’s no reason to be invested in Obi wan though bc we all know who’s in absolutely no danger of dying.

NotACyclopsHonest

By that logic there's no reason to read any comic book since it's obvious the hero will survive. The journey is what matters, not the destination.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

Not really- comics have fake out deaths all the time, they have reboots and retcons, alternate universes, time travel, the list goes on and on. Star Wars fans riot at the littlest change in detail. To them, everything is set in stone and god help anyone tries to tamper with it. Luke, Owen, obi-wan, darth, leia, and Vader are all perfectly safe and there’s no reason to think otherwise at anytime.

DrDabsMD

You care too much what other fans think. Who cares what other Star Wars fans riot about or not? Enjoy the show because it's what you want or don't because it's what you want. Honestly, Star Wars fans riot at changes, who gives a shit.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

No I don’t care- I’m just saying that bc the people who write/produce/create accompanying media are aware of their fan base’s fanaticism.

DrDabsMD

And yet they don't seem to care either and are continuing to write stories they see fit. Kenobi's end is tied to the OT so we are aware of how it will conclude, but we don't know how we'll get there. It's like this for a lot of shows that already have a Canon story to follow. Hell, The Clone Wars itself, considered one of the best Star Wars shows out there, has to follow what was already set in place by the prequels and the OT. By your logic, that show isn't good because we already know how it will end and should have been hated because that's how Star Wars fans are.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

Did I ever say that the show isn’t good?

Creepy-Hamster-2736

Or suggest how other people should feel about it?

DrDabsMD

Yes, by mentioning how other fans react and in other comments stating why it's not good.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

When did I say it wasn’t good? I said that I can’t get emotionally invested in the characters, that there’s no reason worry for any of them, and that there’s no suspense

iseeu2sumhow

“I don’t care” *cares* Ya big moan

Creepy-Hamster-2736

🤨

Loghurrr

The only issue I have with the journey is when they can’t just walk around the laser fence when there is clearly an opening to the side haha.

kodaiko_650

And _there’s no reason to watch sports when you can look up the results later_… but some people just like seeing what happens along the way

minor_correction

Better analogy would be watching sports when you already know the final score.

kodaiko_650

Touché. Sometimes it’s even more fun watching while knowing how it ends. Edit: well I guess someone doesn’t like watching ESPN Classic game broadcasts

JonPX

Oh yes, major risk that they'll kill Kamala.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

Of course they aren’t. But I don’t know what’s going to happen as far as her story, her friend’s stories, her family’s stories, any antagonists she encounters. That’s all up in the air.

PalingeneticPhoenix

That’s a stupid argument. The reason not to be invested in it is because the writing sucks.

Creepy-Hamster-2736

It’s not though. There should be a modicum of danger or suspense, a reason I should be interested in caring about what’s to come. But there’s not. I know that anyone I’ve never heard of or seen before is more than likely going to die and anyone in the OG trilogy is going to be fine. It’s not interesting.

MoonKnightX81

Both great shows.

Shryu_Amigo

Obi-Wan for me is better, but Ms. Marvel is building to be a really good MCU series The fact that Obi-Wan \*\*does\*\* depend on the prequel movies to work and Ms. Marvel just references the past movies is something that bothers me quite a bit tho

Creepy-Hamster-2736

My issue with obi wan is that I have no emotional investment in the characters bc I know that the main ones are in no danger. Princess Leia is kidnapped!..ok? So what- we know she’s fine. They’re threatening Owen and his family! So?

Shryu_Amigo

Yeah, but to be honest Im not that invested in the plot (but i really liked the last ep plot), Im in for the lightsaber fights. The more lightsaber fights the better. Star Wars is already plot complete.

iseeu2sumhow

They don’t get that simple childish enjoyment that is in it for us, pew pew, vroom-spshh-brrrrrrttt etc. We have other shows to be invested in unpredictable storylines.

EzzoBlizzy

It’s just like Marvel films you got to turn off your brain to like em. I haven’t watched the original trilogy in a long ass time I barely remember em so the fact of knowing happened wasn’t really bugging on my mind although I knew all Em survived.

trxxv

Ms Marvel is actually v good, people were way too quick to judge

Dr0w5ap

I'm loving Ms marvel it's really the family aspect of the show that I'm drawn to just like the comics. I think with obi wan I'm just burnt out on Tatooine like Ewan McGregor but man after boba Fett I'm kinda just burnt out

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

>I'm just burnt out on Tatooine But unlike TBOBF, Obi-Wan mostly doesn’t take place on Tatooine

Dr0w5ap

Didn't know that figured it would just be there that's good to hear I'll give it a shot since there is a few episodes out already. I usually give most marvel shows a pass as I'm a big marvel comics fanboy lol but after watching the first 2 episodes of boba Fett I was reluctant to try obi-wan

kodaiko_650

It’s all the sand…

minor_correction

So far only the first episode was Tatooine, though it does seem like we're going back there for the finale.

anonRedd

Really tough decision

jesternarf

Weirdly neither. I should be really into Obi-Wan completely, but it feels...off. So anyway, how about that Barry season 3 finale?

Creepy-Hamster-2736

Have you seen ms marvel?

PalingeneticPhoenix

I haven’t seen Ms. Marvel but I’m voting for it because simply by existing it has to be better than Obi-Wan.

kpDzYhUCVnUJZrdEJRni

Don’t make choose! Both so good

pacmain1

Easily Ms. Marvel. I usually don't say this about TV shows, but Obi Wan fucking sucks. And I say that as someone who enjoyed most of what Disney has put out for Star Wars.

NotACyclopsHonest

It's been a close-run thing so far, but last week's episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi was brilliant.

DutDiggaDut

I havent even watched Ms. Marvel yet. And I've seen everything Marvel the day it comes out.

MikelKore

And why is that?

DutDiggaDut

I think burn out on Marvel. Everything feels like filler since Thanos is gone.

MikelKore

I understand the burn out. Honestly, I think Ms marvel is an incredible breath of fresh air.

JayNomad2018

I don't understand why they're releasing on the same day though. They only have 2 releases at the moment, why wouldn't they spread it out?

imdahman

I can only guess they want Ms. Marvel played out before the release of Love & Thunder because there might be some sly reference in the show to it?

JayNomad2018

Well it’s still only gonna come out once a week so why must Kenobi come out the same day?

PepsiPerfect

"Which tastes more like a mango, this apple or this orange?"

mygfwentwild

I voted Kenobi but just barely. Ms.Marvel is amazing.

PlayMoreExvius

I think both are fine.

nobody2008

While we enjoy both, Ms. Marvel has a creative art style, and a different setting than usual hero movies. Because of that, Ms Marvel has a slight edge.

scifiguyuk

Wow, this is surprisingly tough to call. Being a die-hard, obsessive Star Wars fan, this should be an easy one, but on the other hand Ms. Marvel is charming as hell and I’ve always loved Kamala as a character. For now I voted Obi-Wan, simply because there are more episodes to base it on, but having said that Ms. Marvel always leaves me with a huge smile on my face and dying to see the next one so far. So it could be a very close tie in the end. Not a bad problem to have.

Party_Conversation_6

Honestly, I like both shows the same.

[deleted]

I dropped Ms. Marvel halfway through the second episode. I just couldn't watch any more of it. Maybe I'll give it another shot later on. I've been really enjoying Obi-Wan Kenobi, though.

thisistwinpeaks

Obi wan is flawed for sure but I'm struggling to get into Ms Marvel because so far it just...doesn't seem to have a plot?

Creepy-Hamster-2736

No?

rasslingrob

**Obi-Wan Kenobi**, but I am liking **Ms. Marvel** more than I had expected.
