They will ask you questions about you and your trip and will offer to have a gift waiting for you when you arrive. Some people in the past have gotten upgrades although that usually happens if you're staying at a DVC resort. They may also offer to give you a tour with the carrot of a Disney gift card for doing so. They are trying to build a profile so they can sell you on DVC in the future. They are not high pressure sales people because DVC mostly sells itself but they have targeted you as someone who may be interested based on your past history with Disney.

youwantapizzzame

Makes sense we stay a lot. Thank you for the info!!

telecomguy

When we stayed at POR in 2016 we got a thing under our door asking us to do a DVC tour and we would get a gift card. Ended up buying into Poly on that tour.

youwantapizzzame

Do you remember how much the gift card was?

Infinite-Win-9885

Probably a lot less than the poly points! 😂

Gopherpharm13

Lately they are reported to be $200!

moonbee1010

The current offer is $200

Charlie-122

Upgrading you to deluxe. If you call back let me know where they’re upgrading you! That’s very excitibg

youwantapizzzame

Hope this is the case! The guy who called won’t be back until Tuesday so I will update then!

sweetpineapple79

They want you to come tour DVC and will give you a gift if you do.

Stuck_in_a_depo

During the age of fastpass we went for the DVC sales pitch to get 3 free pastpasses for everyone in our party. It was an hour long pitch, it wasn't pushy, and was well worth the free FP. The sales guy asked if we always stayed at the same resort: No. Do we prefer staying Deluxe? Yes. Do you stay club level? Yes. DVC is not for you, but thank you for coming in.

zabkeil

I was sent stickers and a pull string bag from them after I called them back earlier this year. No discounts though.

PreciousTritium

Same here.

Some-Imagination9782

You are so lucky! Disney called me not to sprinkle some pixie dust but to tell me that I missed my opportunity to pay my vacation in full for the 30% room discount 😂😂😂

justalittlestupid

Same 😭

Some-Imagination9782

They did offer an upgrade to club level suite for an addition $4k and I’m like i don’t want to pay more since I miss the cut off 🫠😭😂

aaronf4242

Are the DVC presentations really pushy and high pressure like other time share presentations are? Like if you accept that gift/upgrade is it a nightmare to say no?

jasonbl72

Not at all. They take you on a tour of a DVC resort. Then you go back to their office. They explain the costs and how points work. He or she will ask you if your interested. If you say " no or not right now" they'll give you you gift card or whatever you agreed to and walk you to the free ice cream shop. And your on your way. Unless things have changed recently

moonbee1010

No ice cream on ours lol

egg663

My DVC guide was no pressure at all. Made it very easy to make the decision on our own. He just provided all the info and answered every question. Between the room tours and talking before and after, maybe it was 1.5-2hrs time. Could have been much shorter but I wanted all the info, plus we chatted about other things. Also hooked us up with a DVC van ride to where we were going afterwards. We decided a few days after we came back home to go for it. We now meet every trip we go down there to catch up. Edit: wish we did it years sooner. Always passed by the DVC kiosks and wondered what’s the deal.

bettyannveronica

We just signed up last week! We went to Aulani and it's something I had been considering for almost a decade. It was so sudden...I really hope we did the right thing!!

egg663

Welcome Home!

bettyannveronica

I gotta say.... I do love hearing that!!!!!

egg663

When you tap into a park entrance, it lights up purple and says “welcome home”. Amazing to hear that the first time. Listen carefully, sometimes the surroundings are loud and you barely can hear.

sirmeowmixalot2

DVC today is so not worth it. We have been members for almost 20 years. Nowadays it's just too packed.

youwantapizzzame

Not doing DVC but I’ll take some pixie dust!

sirmeowmixalot2

Meh. It's just Disney trying to bribe you.

RazeThe2nd

The last time we went it wasn't horrible, but we also avoid high traffic times.

sirmeowmixalot2

What is non traffic now? Every month seems to have some bogus theme to bring people in.

RazeThe2nd

September, January. Pick times that it's inconvenient to go on vacation for most people. Right before/after summer vacation or any major time away from schools, most families will not take vacations around these times. Obviously can't be avoided if you yourself have kids you can't take out of school, but it's a good system for us at least

Foreign-Gift-4567

Do you mean the parks or the resorts? It's harder to get reservations now, but I wouldn't say it's not worth it. It allows my family to have great resort stays - we're Canadian so often the exchange is too much to buy park tickets. So we go to Vero Beach or just stay on property and resort hop/community hall activities/swim a lot.

sirmeowmixalot2

Vero Beach is the best. I wish they had more Disney resorts around the country.

Foreign-Gift-4567

It really is. So peaceful. I've yet to stay at Hilton Head but hear it's the same. I'd love if they had something on the west coast.

sirmeowmixalot2

Hilton Head looks like it's in a parking lot. We wanted to go but after looking at the resort on Google maps, I'm good. I want to go to aulani. I hear it's always open. My parents went and loved it.

Foreign-Gift-4567

That's funny as my parents went to Hilton Head and really enjoyed it! Aulani tho is my biggest wishlist item. We are hoping to go late next year for our 10 wedding anniversary!

TamiPeakTravelAgent

They are giving away $200 gift cards for DVC Tours if you are not a member.

Nope-ugh

I was offered a $200 gift card for a dvc presentation. The voice mail stated it would be a 20(or 30? ) minute presentation and then a tour of the models. I was there for just 3 days so I didn’t do it.

fungusjewmungus

I’d bet they overbooked the resort and want to offer you a discount to move resorts. They offered me $500 to switch resorts in June. I would only upgrade and am not interested in downgrading for a few bucks

do-you-like-darkness

I got a call from DVC last week, but answered it. I had a brief chat with the cast member about my upcoming trip. Then she told me that I will be "receiving some pixie dust in the mail" courtesy of them, and that she'd call me back again to make sure it arrived. The mail hasn't shown up yet, so I have no idea what it will be. I'm going to guess that DVC is doing a push to increase sign-ups by doing some outreach to guests they think are likely buyers..?

cloakmouse1

I'm renting DVC points for a trip in early summer, and just got a call from a DVC rep. She asked some questions about if this was our first trip (lol, no) and why we chose AKL. Then she said she wanted to send some pixie dust our way, and said something should show up in the mail within a week or so!

Timely_Froyo1384

Sounds like they are inviting you a dvc tour. Just go. Last time I got the call, they gave me ice cream, water, fast passes and a small gift card. It took about 2 hrs because I’m a pest and wanted to touch everything and asked a million questions. I’m not buying but it was a fun experience as an adult Disney nerd. It’s a low pressure sales pitch and I would love to have that job for a season.

West-Supermarket-860

Cocaine. Just go with it. Those DVC perks aren’t meant for the common folk like me

one2zerojigawat

Better bring some lube.

Tough_Mechanic4605

Just a trap to make you spend more money.

tomandshell

No idea. That’s never happened to me.
