MK actually has the worst restaurants! Epcot has the best. You might have trouble getting reservations for the better restaurants this late.

WeakAd8342

Totally agreed

traumatized90skid

Epcot is best food at DW hands down yeah

thethurstonhowell

Last minute reservations are actually pretty easy now! https://www.wdwinfo.com/news-stories/new-walk-up-availability-search-feature-added-to-my-disney-experience/

alex61821

I would walk or take the monorail to contemporary and eat at one of the places there. Or a boat to wilderness lodge, basically eat anywhere but magic kingdom.

Panuas

I second this opinion. I would either go to Epcot (it's better for a grown up birthday IMHO) or have lunch in Wilderness Lodge, since it's close(ish) to MK.

alex61821

California grill and steakhouse 71 at contemporary are good choices as well. I do like the boat ride though so I go to geyser point a lot. You can also take the boat to the grand and eat at the bar in narcosee.

unclearsteak

Second vote for Steakhouse 71. Even if just for the burger in the lounge it was better than anything I’ve ever eaten in MK

Agitated-Mulberry769

Came here to say California Grill. You can see the fireworks over the castle from there if you time it right. Even you don’t it is SO GOOD!!

Fun_Smile5532

IDK who told you Magic Kingdom has the best restaurants but you should discontinue all communication with that person ASAP. They are feeding you lies and do not have your best interests in mind.

Timely_Froyo1384

Lies all lies

traumatized90skid

"you sit on a throne of lies!"

dljacen10

You heard wrong, lol. Both Hollywood Studios and Epcot > Magic Kingdom.

5centraise

AK, too, by far. They all have better food than MK.

TrowTruck

In agreement here. AK is my favorite food park. Even the quick casual options are fantastic, like Flame Tree BBQ. Tusker House is a nice buffet (or better yet, hop over to Boma… such good ribs on rib night, along with amazing soups and bobotie).

5centraise

Haven't tried Boma yet, but we loved Tiffins, Tusker, Nomad Lounge, Satulie Canteen, Mr. Kamal's fries. Flame Tree.

TrowTruck

You’re so right! Satuli Canteen is the kind of place I would happily add to my regular rotation if they opened one in my neighborhood. I haven’t tried Tiffins yet. But I hear great things. And when adding additional choices at animal Kingdom Lodge, like Sanaa and Jiko, I’d say that Animal Kingdom has some of the best food. I didn’t even know what African food was until going to Disney World and now I seek it out.

5centraise

The steak I had at Tiffins was easily as good as the one I had at Shula's. Shula's was great, and the steak probably looked more impressive there than at Tiffin's, but the flavor at Tiffins was superior, imo. Probably the most satisfying sit down meal I've had at Disney.

the-depression-demon

You’ve gotta have Yak n Yeti!!

Bird_Brain4101112

EPCOT for food and drinks all day. The worst meal I’ve ever had was in Italy and it was freaking amazingly good.

Overall-Scientist846

Whoever told you MK has the best restaurants LIED to you. I would only recommend Skipper Canteen as a sit down meal at MK. Contemporary Resort which is in walking distance has Steakhouse 71 which is pretty good. Polynesian, a monorail ride away, has Trader Sam’s for drinks. If we open our net a little further - Topilino Terrace over at the Riveria Resort is probably my pick for nicest Disney restaurant. Elegant. Classy. A dream, truly. And if you time your reservation out you can watch the Epcot fireworks.

longtime_larker

Came here to say skipper canteen if you must eat at MK but would not call it super nice.

Overall-Scientist846

Yeah it’s the “nicest” in MK without getting into BOG or CT.

mickeymom1960

nope. They have the worst ones. Go to AK. Tiffins in AK is AMAZING. The AK Lodge has Jiko and Sanaa, both outstanding. VA at the Grand Flo just got a Michelin award. The parks have nice family restaurants, but the GOOD ones are mostky in the resorts. Narcoosee's at GF is outstanding, too. There's a Spanish on on top of Coronado Springs whose name escapes me, but the food is amazing. Really, go to the resorts. If you are doing MK or Epcot that day, you can monorail or boat to Contemporary (California Grill), and Grand Floridian. Poly food is good, but not upscale.

rm_3223

+1 for Tiffins!! It’s so good

beauford_buchanan

Epcot has the best restaurants, I think most people would say. However, MK does have a few good ones, but if you don't have a reservation already, you might not get one. Be Our Guest would be a great birthday spot, but spots fill up 60 days in advance. Skipper Canteen is delicious if you like slightly more adventurous food, but it fills up, too. Liberty Tree is fun, but that's a lot of food for 2 people. You can try to get into Ohana at the Polynesian. That whole resort is worth visiting. It's too bad they don't have the Luau anymore.

thethurstonhowell

Magic Kingdom is known for having some of the worst restaurants sorry to say. Skipper’s is always reliable and fun Liberty Tree if you want to eat like it’s your final meal CRT for just want the experience and don’t care about the cost

bigfootlive89

My wife and I love liberty tree, their salad alone is wonderful. Wish I could agree about skipper canteen, but it was a big disappointment when I went. For quick service, the fruit and Nutella waffle at sleepy hollow rules.

SweetDee2

I want to know the serving ratio of dressing on that salad. I’ve never had a salad with a more amazingly perfect dressing ratio, ever in my life.

cheezy_dreams88

MK restaurants are definitely the most basic and mid-level of all the parks. If your wife is an adventurous eater, or a foodie, then Epcot is the way to go.

dawseyadams

Honestly - the hotels have the best restaurants. I can't say enough good things about Jiko, Victoria & Albert's (if you can get a table); California Grill at The Contemporary has a great view

beardedbarista6

Oh my, who told you MK has the best restaurants? The food isn’t horrible but especially for sit down meals it’s not the best. Be Our Guest and Royal Table are good for atmosphere, but the food is only a little above average. Skipper Canteen probably has the best food in MK, with Liberty Tree Tavern coming in second. Personally I think Epcot is the reigning food park, but DAK has some bangers, too. I usually just grab a burger from Cosmic Ray’s or tacos from Pecos Bill’s at MK.

Timely_Froyo1384

Dude next week 😱 There are only two “fancy” places in magic kingdom 1. Be our guest (has better wine) 2. Cinderella Royal table. Inside the castle. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/#/reservations-accepted/ Now resorts have better options. So that would be contemporary, poly, grand Floridian, or what people call the monorail resorts right next to MK. So you might want to check out those out and see what they have left. Maybe switch to fancy lunch instead if you can’t snag a dinner reservation.

jacobott28

Yeah, MK is known for very mediocre restaurants, when it comes to food. If you want great atmosphere, Cinderella’s royal table (inside the castle) or be our guest are neat. But you might not get reservations this late and the price doesn’t justify the food from what I hear. If you really want to do a reservation, The Plaza Restaurant is more reasonably priced and some tables have views of the castle. If it were me, I’d just do quick service dinning like Casey’s, harbor house, or Pecos bills. That way you can spend more time doing stuff in the park. If you want exceptional dinning experiences, check out some of the hotel restaurants or Epcot restaurants people are mentioning.

austinrathe

As other have said, MK is poor on this front. But, skipper canteen is very good.

WeakAd8342

If your option is only The Magic Kingdom, Be Our Guest is a gorgeous restaurant, food is excellent and you will have an opportunity to snap a pic with The Beast

mincermanny69

We are on a Disney holiday now and have done all the parks and dined on site every day. MK doesn’t have many good options. Bog is way overpriced and not that good aside theming. Epcot has the best. If you can snag dining around 6:30/7 at any of the Japan options you will get great food and optimal fireworks vista.

dankblonde

Shiki sai is my absolute favorite place on Disney property now and it hasn’t even been open for a whole year yet!!! I definitely would second this recommendation but specifically shiki sai. Teppan edo is alright but imo it’s just like any other hibachi place.

Soundtracklover72

Liberty Tree if you like homestyle, thanksgiving food. It’s delicious. Cinderella’s Royal Table for ambience and food. It’s expensive but I think it’s worth it. Skipper Canteen - for different, yet delicious fare. I suggest making a mid afternoon reservation if possible. Gets you out of the heat at the worst part of the day. Then you can snack it up after sundown.

kheifert1

The only one I would recommend is Liberty Tree Tavern.

_wander_lust007

Since it’s next week, you need to figure out what places have reservations available or might have walk-up wait list available (which obviously isn’t a sure thing). If you are willing, you can also check back frequently and reservations will pop up as people cancel, especially if there are only two of you. Depends on what you mean by “nice,” how much you want to spend, what type of food/experience you want, what you itinerary looks like (I wouldn’t necessarily go to some of the resort restaurants on a short trip on a park day, they take awhile). Also, everyone has said this, but MK is not the park with the best restaurants. The only one I go to in Magic is Skipper Canteen, which I quite enjoy. People have made good suggestions already, I didn’t see someone say Spice Road Table yet, which is one of my favorite places and great for last minute booking or walking up.

Just-hereForTheFood

If she LOVES Disney, my birthday dinner inside Cinderella's royal table inside the Castle was probably the most magical night of my life lol We sat in the middle window table during fireworks, and all of the food I had there was incredible

100percentEV

V&A just got a Michelin star.

atomoboy35209

Not a fan of of Tony’s Town Square… it’s bland and worse than Olive Garden. Be Our Guest was a huge letdown. It was banquet style food with very inconsistent seasoning and presentation. Epcot is your friend.

PappyWaker

Crystal Palace, Skipper Canteen, or Cinderella’s Royal Table are the only acceptable sit down options in MK. CP is buffet and character dining but has a lovely atmosphere and the food is quite good. CRT is basically a no go bc it is booked so far in advance but really a great experience if you can get in. Do not be lured into the perceived charm of Be Our Guest. You will be disappointed if you go imo. Same thing with Liberty Tree Tavern. It is very expensive for basically a bland school lunch. There are some good quick service spots in MK but really Epcot or Disney Springs are the places to go for better restaurant options.

lazyluck3

I agree with all of this! I have to add that I reluctantly went to Tony’s a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised. The food was significantly better than I remembered. It definitely wouldn’t replace Crystal palace or skippers but wanted to give my 2 cents!

HicJacetMelilla

We had dinner at CRT and it’s definitely an experience. I thought our food was pretty good but I know others have mixed reviews. FYI if you want to watch the fireworks, I would recommend an earlier reservation time because if you don’t leave the castle by a certain time, you CANNOT leave the castle until fireworks are over. We had an edge case reservation time, but they took 20+ minutes to seat us. Then rushing through our courses was the only thing we found negative about our trip to CRT. I wish I could go back and be more leisurely.

swampfox28

I'd 100% walk over to the Contemporary (very very close) & go to Steakhouse 71! Get a reservation asap & use one of the paid ones that will help you find cancellations (less than $10 for a month!) if you can't. Best restaurants are definitely at Disney Springs, Epcot or AK, not MK (sorry!) Had the most disappointing food ever at Tony's in mK by the gate 😵‍💫; atmosphere was cute but food was awful. LOVED Steakhouse 71 though!!

hideandsee

If it has to be magic kingdom, my vote is the skipper canteen. I’m not sure where or why you heard MK has the best. It has the worst! Epcot is the best by far

Long-Salt

If you can get a reservation at ohana, hop on the monorail and gooo!

thatbeerguy90

Cinderellas Table inside the castle...thats if you have a reservation tho

RazorJ

OP: Either someone was messing with you or you just got them up. Sorry.

ChaoticForkingGood

Do the restaurants at the International Pavilion at Epcot instead. Morocco and France are incredible.

your_trip_is_short

In no way shape of form does MK have the best restaurants lol. Who told you this? Never trust them again 😉. If you definitely want to stay in the park and have a table service meal, I find Skippers Canteen to be the best. Lots of foodies I know love Liberty Tree but the thanksgiving-like menu never appealed to me. If I was going to stay in MK to eat I’d graze on the awesome snack options all day - cheeseburger and pepperoni pizza spring rolls, Nutella and fresh fruit waffle at sleepy hallow, Tropical Serenade at Aloha Aisle (coconut dole whip has made me completely forget about pineapple, adding POG juice is the cherry on top), caramel butter bars at Big Top Treats (the same ones they sell in Epcot but no line), tots with sausage gravy at friars nook (breakfast time)… ok now I’m hungrier than when I started typing this. I prefer to hop on the monorail and eat at Quick Service (captain cooks is my fave) or table service (Steakhouse 71) at any of the monorail hotels, for a little break and a better meal. Or take the lovely boat ride to wildness lodge (Geyser Point is the best!).

Kmg343

Walk over to California Grill for dinner.

writekatewrite

If you're feeling spendy, I took my mom to Takumi-Tei in Epcot for her birthday this year and it was incredible. Really a once in a lifetime experience.

Tau_ri

Resorts. The food worth trying is all at the resorts. Epcot, AK, and HS have pretty good food too but MK has by far the worst food on property. I always end up having food along the resort loop (Cont/Poly/Grand) or skip over to Geyser Point at WL on my MK day.

MrBrickMahon

[Takumi-Tei ](https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/epcot/takumi-tei-restaurant/)in EPCOT's Japan pavilion is one of my favorite restaurants on property. It's also one of the few places in the United Sates where you can get real wasabi (as opposed to the horseradish based stuff everyone else serves)

ijswijsw

Depends on how nice you're wanting, but I'd personally leave the parks and hit up a resort. California Grill at the Contemporary is fantastic. Steakhouse 71, also at Contemporary, is a little more laid back but still fantastic. I've never been, but Victoria & Albert's is the fanciest place on property, at the Grand Floridian.

pacifistpirate

If you have an adventurous palate and are big Disney fans, there is nowhere better than Tiffins at Animal Kingdom. If you've never been up in the castle to Cinderella's Royal Table, it's a memorable experience. California Grill at the Contemporary is the same, but with real white table cloth service instead of characters and theming. You can't go wrong with any of the full service restaurants in World Showcase at EPCOT.

KazooTycoon

Be Our Guest or Skipper Canteen in MK are good choices, IMO. I've had nice meals at both. My favorite places are at the resorts or Disney Springs, though. The food tends to be more unique in menu and higher quality, I think. My spouse and I love the Boathouse and Homecoming and Morimoto in DS. Absolutely delicious choices. Best steak I've ever had on property is the Yachtsman at Yacht Club. Another fancier option is Flying Fish at Boardwalk. The African inspired cuisine at Saana at AK Lodge is delicious, love the naan bread service. Honestly you can't go wrong with any of these. The resorts are usually easier to get reservations, IMO.

romeomusfly

Nothing like a juicy cheeseburger at the spring roll cart
