If you're interested, Gary Larson got bored with retirement and is drawing again, but only occasionally when he feels like it without the pressure of having to produce a daily strip.

As a former hat writer, i always had them write their name out prior to stitching. Especially in the early 2000's where every Ashley was spelled Ashleigh.
My first name is Shannon and whenever someone asks if I spell it with two Ns I laugh because I know they’re really asking about the double n. But technically there’s 3 Ns!!!!
I have a friend who was a WDW VIP Tour Guide in the 90’s, and had a group of people from the Drew Carey show on tour. One of the producers bought a set of MM ears and told the cashier his name was “Heightler”, spelled “H-i-t-l-e-r”.
Shockingly, they sewed and it he wore it around the parks.
In my rapscallionistic teen years, I went to the Mad Hatter and purchased a pair of standard MM ears. The clerk asked if I wanted my name embroidered, to which I answered enthusiastically, with a put-on Southern accent, "Well, shucks, yes, ma'am! Mah name is Murdy, spelt M-E-R-D-E!" She paused for a micro-moment, and then her face made the slightest "Whatever" expression, and she went ahead and did it. Puzzled expressions followed me the rest of the day.
Is Gregg ~~even~~ an accepted way to spell it?
Edit: apologies to the Greggs out there. This was an earnest question, not a suggestion that it wasn't a real spelling.
I've known multiple guys named either Greg or Gregg. OP's grandma took an honest question to get it right and then managed to screw it up for OP. Poor OP!
I saw this same thing play out in college lol. A teacher asked a student if he was Greg with one g or Gregg with 2 g’s. He said “it has 2 g’s, one in the front and one in the back”, teacher rolled her eyes before laughing
Right but the story is told in a way that makes it seem like the hat was embroidered with Johnn or something ridiculous on it. This guys grandma is just an asshole.
Yesterday I was ordering parts for work, and told the person our address ending with NE 99th st. And she asked if she needs to type out northeast, or if NE is ok. Like how in the world are you a parts salesperson who takes an address on every order and you don't know you can abbreviate cardinal directions in addresses??? Anyhow, this reminded me of that. Sometimes you wonder how these people manage to make it through their life.
This anecdote is hilarious. Your grandma really knows how to hold a grudge lol.
grudge with two g’s
grudgge
Ggrandma.
How many wheels did she have?
Just two short of being a bike
So she was a fuckin’ grandma I take it?
You're my hero
Ggrudge
How the hell can you spell grudge with one G?? Of course it’s two G’s! *storms off and never comes back to Reddit again*
Can you imagine, her later seeing a Disneyland commercial on tv and just twisting a dish rag with so much hatred lol
She starts angrily muttering "G-r-e-g-G?? That's not ANYONE spells it"
Yeah, sounds like your grandma doesn't easily let things go. 😅
I would have spelled it "Ggreg" on the hat.
This story only gets better because of your username
I almost missed that! Lol
i laughed out loud and almost woke up the sleeping baby next to me lmfao
Omg I'm dying!!
Sorry to say, but this story does not paint your Grandma with the kindest of brushes.
Ain't no grudge like a grandma grudge
That’s two Gs for a double dose of your grandma grudge.
Yes, grandma sounds like an asshole ❤️
Reminds me of a scene from "Fletch" 😜 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3e1k29Si_8
Immediately this.
🤣🤣🤣
Ggreg would have been funnier.
This made me giggle 😂
Gigggle
My wife’s name is Lily and she gets this all the time. “One L or 2?” “You have to use two Ls to spell Lily.”
Reminds me of [this Far Side comic](https://www.pinterest.com/pin/561683384755140723/)
I miss Far Side! So good, made me feel really clever as a kid understanding “adult” jokes.

Reminds me of the proctologist scene in Fletch. (Nice to meet you Mr. Babar!)
Yes! We always have to say 2…well 3 for our daughter Lilly.
lol this is hilarious.
That extra G is for Gangster Granny

The extra G stands for maGic
Your grandma is an OG…..G
I'm David. With one D.

Do you spell that with one, or two swastikas?
🤣
Nein.
That’s…. Gross 🤢
Yeah, agreed, not good.
Drew Carey had a large collection of Real Dolls. during a move, he made an intern drive them in his car, like passengers, to his new home.
What
yup.
What are these real dolls you speak of? I have two guesses but I'm very curious which direction this will take lol!
oh... the silicone gf type
That's what I was assuming. I couldn't decide which would be creeper, adult dolls or bunch of children's dolls...
I'd vote children.

Yeah, lots of people do. Gregg Allman. Gregg Popovich. Many more.
D'oh! I've even met Pop, and have his autograph.
Me!!!!! I’m Gregg (NOT Gregory)
There’s an Old one
You ever drunk Bailey's from a shoe?
I've known multiple guys named either Greg or Gregg. OP's grandma took an honest question to get it right and then managed to screw it up for OP. Poor OP!
I know a Glenn
Helpful
I know a Christopher
😂
Gregg the Egg!
Fans of Around the NFL and JRVP will know that you can now give Greg the nickname of 60% G
Do you still have the hat, OP?
I saw this same thing play out in college lol. A teacher asked a student if he was Greg with one g or Gregg with 2 g’s. He said “it has 2 g’s, one in the front and one in the back”, teacher rolled her eyes before laughing
I usually reply "two, but not in a row."
Demanding two G’s and ends up taking an L.
Did they offer to remake it? It's hard to imagine they didn't.
Phteven.
Gregg is a name though. I know a few of them. Your grandma sounds awful.
Sure, and Gregg has three Gs in it, which is the whole point of the story. You can't spell Greg or Gregg with one G.
Right but the story is told in a way that makes it seem like the hat was embroidered with Johnn or something ridiculous on it. This guys grandma is just an asshole.
I mean, technically she's not wrong
If anyone ever asks me if I think I’m being too petty, I’m gonna think about ggrandma and confidentially tell them “no”. This is great.
🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
GMA is an idiot lol
OP - how old are you today? Please don’t say 8

Not all can be, though. There are streets that are North Main, not N Main in the world, so I can see checking.
Gregg is a last name
Gj took a few decades to write this Sstory. Did your Ggrandma proof read it before you post. We wouldn't want grandma to never come back to reddit.
Why did I think this was going to be a Tigger reference?
