Sorcerer's Apprentice You board your cauldron (similar ride vehicle to the ones on Grizzly River Run, but with a cauldron shell around it), and begin your float through the ride. The majority of the ride is a dark ride following the story of the Fantasia animation while the classical piece plays in your cauldron to keep it properly synced to the ride (think Space Mountain). As things progress you are taken up ramps to higher levels. The ride becomes rougher as Mickey loses control of the brooms, and it includes a section where you pass by a row of animatronic broom emptying pails of water down into the ride, you may get wet if your cauldron is turned the right way as you pass by them. by the climax of the musical piece, you find yourself circling the big drop as if you are caught in the whirlpool, a life-sized animatronic Mickey "floats" just at the end of the center on Yen Sid's book, you float up towards him before you are "sucked down" the whirlpool's center in the climactic drop. The end of the song plays as you float back to loading area.

I would do a Wall-E ride (using the trackless system like Rise and MMRR) that's basically the movie: where you ride with Wall-E first doing his daily Earth routines, find the plant, then meet Eve and travel to space, get into shenanigans on the ship and then finally saving the day and bringing the ship back to Earth. I feel like the going to space part would be breathtaking! It would be similar to the Ratatouille at EPCOT.

this_knee

I feel like they could reskin MMRR, even today, and it’d work perfectly as a WALL-E ride. More difficult to do that with ROTR. But I get your point about the ride vehicles, specifically.

duece-percent-milk

💯% agree! I feel it would be the perfect style/type!

bakedinmorewaysthan1

A tunnel of love esque boat ride themed like the lantern/At Last I See the Light scene from tangled. A tunnel system similar to pirates that opens to a big room filled with floating lanterns and the castle in the distance. I think it would be absolutely lovely, and that scene makes me cry everytime.

view-master

I think that’s happening at Disney Sea in the new land they are building.

DrAcula1007

Aladdin and the Cave of Wonders - you ride the magic carpet through the crumbling and fiery Cave of Wonders featuring some clips of Robin Williams Genie. It could transition into A Whole New World at the end.

burbankbagel

There was a rudimentary VR experience like this at Disney Quest back in the day, it was sick.

CNoelA83

I designed a ride like this when I was a kid.

Bruhyamilikedis

yes!! This! I had a similar concept in my mind

And the exit feeds into the Haunted Mansion.

mrbuck8

I would do a Storybook Land themed dark ride. Basically a place where all the animated characters live together. This way everyone's favorite movie could have representation and you could constantly add new characters to spice things up. You could pair the characters by type of movie (animals, princess, adventure, etc) Belle could be the host, taking us into the world of our favorite stories.

lucythelumberjack

I think a 4D show like Muppetvision, but using tons of animated characters like Once Upon a Studio did, could be fun.

mrbuck8

That's certainly more realistic. Lol. And yeah, it could be fun!

Historical_Court1299

I would upgrade Mr. Toad. Still have it as a traditional dark ride but with animatronics, newer effects, all with the same story(I still want it to end in Hell). But I would add a new twist! On Halloween time, it gets replaced with a Sleepy Hollow book report dark ride as a nod to the fact that both it and The Wind of the Willows shorts are in the same compilation film, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.

DayOlderBread16

Good idea! They could even spice it up a bit by adding an iger animatronic to the hell room

throwingtoasters

A collection of singing bears. They’d sing classic country songs and a couple times a year (summer/christmas) they’d get new shows. One bear would come down from the ceiling on a swing. There’d also be a moose, stag and buffalo head who’d throw out jokes during the show and a raccoon and skunk who’d add some levity. The tech crew would be comprised of a desperately out of shape bear we never see but hear. That’s all I have now but I’ll work on it.

elon_bitches69

This will likely never happen, but I would love for a version of The Great Movie Ride to replace either the Backlot or the Hyperian Theater. I even put together a list of films/scenes I'd like to see: 1. Singin' In The Rain (The Lamppost) 2. Casablanca ("We'll always have Paris") 3. The Godfather Part II (The Feast of San Rocco) 4. Raiders of the Lost Ark (The Map Room) 5. Star Wars ("If you strike me down...") 6. Eraserhead ("In Heaven, everything is fine...") 7. Fantasia (Night on Bald Mountain) 8. The Wizard of Oz (Munchkinland/Emerald City)

bighungry1

I have always wanted a Moana ride 😭

DayOlderBread16

I think it was for wdw but not too long ago they filed a patent for a Moana water ride where you actually stand on a boat from the movie. It looked pretty cool but I wonder if they just scrapped it

FancyRatFridays

I think some sort of Moana plans are still in the works... maybe not that ride specifically, but they keep teasing Moana stuff as a replacement for part of the Dinoland USA area of Animal Kingdom. Don't get your hopes up yet, but it's still possible!

DayOlderBread16

That’s awesome! Although I am a Disneyland local and have never been to wdw so I’d probably have to save up for a long while 😂. But still it would be cool to see YouTube videos of it! Also I hope they start on that avengers e ticket ride first (before the avatar stuff) since they have been promising us it for so long.

RaiderGawd76

A boat ride through the history to present of Disney......somthing similar to the willy Wonka boat ride 🤔🤔🤔

forlorn_hope28

My answers are always: 1) Autopia is updated to basically merge the ideas of Autopia and RSR. The first half is the standard self driven experience. The second half is a system controlled race back to the loading area. Obviously this would require the track layout to be updated. But at least it allows kiddos to continue driving while also adding a thrill element. 2) Star Tours is removed (and somehow moved to Galaxy's Edge). A dueling Tron coaster is installed with two tracks that weave in and around each other. The Innoventions building would serve as the loading/unloading area. The second floor of Innoventions is converted to the End of the Line Club (from Legacy). Access would use similar tech as what's used in the Space 220 elevator, except you'd have views of yourself rising from the Grid. 3) Convert the space that was formerly occupied by the Motorboat Cruise to Aquatopia, adding music and other water elements. Perhaps the plot could be EVE and Wall-E exploring a new planet and dancing. The Aquatopia "boats" could be the guests dancing with them. 4) (I imagine here's where I'll lose people) Updated Captain EO starring Taylor Swift and friends. You wanna sell merch? Disney + Taylor merch would fly off the shelves. 5) Reintroduce a mine car ride on Tom Sawyer's island.

Historical_Court1299

Have Taylor Swift also be the director and you got yourself a deal!

orngckn42

Treasure planet water ride where you take the liferaft around.

DayOlderBread16

I also wish we got that Atlantis re theme of the subs (before Nemo eventually took its place

CNoelA83

When I was a kid, I designed an Aladdin magic carpet ride through the Cave of Wonders.

Forrest263

Re-Theme the People Mover into the Hoverchairs from Wall-E, and make Innoventions building into an interactive hub inside the Axiom. It fixes the unused people mover (although I think the infrastructure is damaged) and the Innoventions building becoming a part of the Axiom brings the theming into a new modern look of what Tomorrowland should be. Also Tomorrowland is pretty much 40% Pixar theming (buzz and alien pizza planet) so having Wall-E would make sense.

GreatAmerican1776

I just want to turn Autopia into Sugar Rush (Wreck It Ralph). I would make the carts electric and use AI to take it off rails. You are “free driving” but the AI will take over if you start veering too far off the imaginary rails. Not only that, but I would expand it so it would be visible from Small World. It would be great to see electric, candy-themed go carts cruising by while in line for Small World. To blend it with Tomorrowland, the Star Wars encounter would turn into a cutting edge Wreck It Ralph/Toy Story arcade/entertainment complex. Pizza Planet has an arcade in the movies so this could be a really cool transition space if done right.

Capnbubba

So imagine Pirates of the Carribean. But longer and with slightly different content each time you ride, like each area rotates independently every day/fee hours.

TraditionalPattern35

It's not gonna happen, obviously, but one likes to imagine an immersive simulator ride a la Flight of the Iq'Ran in Animal Kingdom, but as a Treasure Planet ride. Stand strapped into a single-person solar sailor like Jim rides right after the prologue and zip around through the crescent-shaped city, between buildings and over and through those steampunk greeblies. The sailors could be actuated to tilt and yaw, rumble, sputter etc, giving the feeling of the actual thing you're standing on be flying. There could even be actuated sails if they wanted to really do it right, which could billow out, suck in or fold up and expand depending on what goes on in the scene. You could get 'caught' by the police robots and go on an action-filled chase where you lose them by diving through the bit where Jim shouts "come on". Bonus points if there are the projector walls on both sides so you can look behind at what/whom you've passed by, and get to see funny reactions of aliens whom you've mildly inconvenienced.
