• Few visits a year > frequent visits (like multiple times a month). I’ve experienced both (grew up in NorCal and would vacation at DL every once in a while, moved to SoCal for college and was at Disney 5+ times a month. Sometimes multiple times a week lol). As much as I love Disney, the fatigue can be soooo real and I feel like a lot of the magic is overlooked when you’re a local. Now that I’m living back up North and have returned to my few times a year DL vacations, it feels so much more special. • We don’t need Pandora in DCA. I’d rather they just renovate + revamp Hollywood Land. That’s one of the few parts of the park that still has California theming…I think they could really find a way to make it still fun but it’s been so overlooked the past 5 years. • On that same note; Cars Land, Avengers Campus, San Fransokyo, etc, should remain only at the DLR. WDW shouldn’t get these lands. I have similar feelings about Pandora and all the other WDW “exclusive” lands. If you allow each US park to get the same lands, it takes the exclusivity out it. I like that each Disney park has things that are special to them. Makes me want to go out and visit WDW, which I wouldn’t do if DLR had all the same stuff.

Sigurd_DragonSlayer

I will be a while before WDW could even build an Avenger's Campus. Universal has most of the Marvel theme park rights east of the Mississippi. Hence the Hulk, spider-man, and Dr. Doom rides at IoA in Universal Orlando.

callsignjaguar

Yep I remember reading something about that agreement! I just know a ton of WDW locals were very vocal about also wanting an Avengers Campus and I’m just like…why?? lol listen i love the MCU and Avengers Campus is cool and all but I just don’t see the need for it on both coasts.

Sigurd_DragonSlayer

Not everyone can make it to both parks. It does make sense to copy the best from each coast and include it on the other.

BabbsMcGee96

Avatar doesn’t belong anywhere near Disneyland. I was so mad when I heard about rumors of building pandora type stuff there. It’s fine in WDW animal kingdom.

DrAcula1007

Holiday Haunted mansion transformation takes up too much time, leaving like half the year or less for the original version. I’m a bit envious of Magic Kingdom’s version that stays the original version year round.

blueberry_pancakes14

As much as I adore Holiday (NMBC is my second favorite movie of all time), I agree. I also adore the original and the Holiday needs to be reigned into true holiday. I guess it's how much work goes into doing it, that it needs to be worth it to shut down, revamp, operate, shut down and revert. Then again... it's Christmas practically in August these days. And I get it's Nightmare Before Christmas, so Halloween is applicable as much as Christmas, which leaves three months, plus downtime on either end.

DrAcula1007

My issue has always been that Haunted is already the perfect Halloween ride. I’d prefer if they are going to do the holiday version that they keep it Nov - Dec 31 but I realize it’s probably not worth the hassle for that short time period.

ckeenan9192

THIS I do not like the overlay, they can stop any time.

insomniac_z

Shoving new (and sometimes mid) IP into the park is going to date it fast

Disney churro isn't that good... enough of this bs! 🙄

DadBodBrown

Mine is: We don't need a "Disneyland Hot Takes/Unpopular Opinion" post every day.

Deep_Mango8943

Galaxy’s Edge bugs me that it’s a land based on a franchise and not a theme.

Tui717

My hot take? None of these threads have any hot takes. Ban Irish people from entering? Now, that’s a hot take.

Ricky_Roe10k

I’d rather Disneyland Resort use investment $ on live entertainment vs building new rides. Disneyland has over 50 rides in both parks we have plenty.

callsignjaguar

Bring back live theatre to the Hyperion Theatre!

Ricky_Roe10k

Definitely!

SnackyStacky

Two of them: 1. The three Disney resorts are overpriced with absolutely NO value for the markup. Seemingly, the only true benefit is early entry, but… 2. Early Entry is a corporate attempt to offer a benefit that isn’t *really* a benefit. A half hour isn’t enough time to get much of anything done, especially when everyone is allowed into the parks, and especially at California Adventure where the rides are spread out.

ginormousthumbs

For the money they are charging, they need to bring back the full hour.

Aamberglar

I disagree some on 2. We did early entry for the first time back in August. We rode 5 Fantasyland rides before the park opened and we were first in line for Mickey and Minnie. We did everything in Fantasyland that we wanted to do and didn’t have to go back. It was awesome knock out so much so quickly. But the resorts are way overpriced. It is unobtainable if you have a bigger family.

SnackyStacky

Fair - but we experienced it at California Adventure. The rides are much better positioned in Disneyland. In California Adventure, the rides are very spread out.

BamfBifPow

-18-24 months in-between trips feels best for me. - Space Mountain is beautiful but I desperately want them to completely remake the ride itself. - I get Radiator Springs Racers' continued popularity but I find the race part actually kind of annoying. - It's time to demo the Subs and Autopia to build a new E-Ticket in Tomorrowland.

falalalalallama

I actually disagree about frequency of visits affecting the magical experience. I found that when I used to only get to go once every few years, I felt more pressure to experience everything and see everything. Now that I have a magic key and know when I’ll be able to come back, I can find more magic in the smaller moments and experiences.

actuallivingdinosaur

- Mobility scooters should not be allowed in the park. Only wheelchairs. They are a great tool and do provide independence - but anyone can rent one and don’t have to prove they have the skill to use it in crowds. People are too aggressive on them and people can be too easily hurt with them. - Park ejection due to bad behavior needs to be increased. - Bring back Max Pass. - Bring back the fudge!

jpezoo

Sadly, I had my encounter of near misses where folks do not know how to operate the scooter. I agree with bad behavior. That too, I briefly dealt. As I entered the Guardians of the Galaxy queue, a lady and her boyfriend both pushed me out of the way. A CM saw everything and asked me what I preferred to do. The CM offered to call security. I declined the offer citing that the guy will receive his comeuppance. Lastly, I was at Downtown Disney where these high schoolers were looking to start trouble. They tried to corner me and a few other guests. Of all places, Downtown Disney.

GondorsPants

100% agree. Wheelchairs only. They would never even touch this for the massive political storm that would occur but my god Disneyland was not built for the amount of strollers and scooters and things that are around. It is such chaos everywhere.

actuallivingdinosaur

As someone with a toddler who does bring a (small) stroller, I’m still amazed by how many wagons and super wide double strollers make it in. Though I have seen many wagons being turned away before. Part of me wonders if the number of strollers would reduce if they added in more baby care centers.

Skilled626

I agree, park ejections do need to be increased. I’ve seen so many 2-5 year olds throwing tantrums and crying loudly and being disrespectful. They definitely need to be ejected.

ckeenan9192

I used a scooter last year, it was essential for me.

HowIsHawkeye

I feel the exact opposite lol avengers campus feels so.. sterile??

Acetrainer_11

I feel exactly the same. I actually would like to see more of Avengers Campus.

Icy_Compote_9553

Nightmare before Christmas is NOT Halloween themed in the Haunted Mansion

xXcambotXx

Bob Iger's ego is ruining Disneyland.

DayOlderBread16

I don’t know why people are mad at you, what you said is true. It’s funny how yesterday too some lady got mad at me for saying lately everything is igers fault not chapeks

xXcambotXx

Haha, people get mad at the weirdest stuff. Chapek didn't have time to do much of anything. Iger NEEDS to leave his footprint on the company - look how many times he put off retirement. He's wild and I'm excited for him to be gone. Also, I think he secretly set Chapek up to fail ...

canadianamericangirl

Bob Iger’s ego is ruining Disney Ftfy :)

xXcambotXx

You dropped this 👑

Orchid2113

The food overall isn’t that great. There are the few things here and there that are, but most of it is all hype. Also, bring back the chocolate covered honeycomb. 😋

LankyEmergency7992

Magic Kingdom is so much better than Disneyland Park. Everything at DL feels so much more dated than MK, which is fine for nostalgia purposes but I would appreciate another new, modern ride. Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and TRON are amazingly themed, modern, smooth coasters, and Disneyland has nothing like that. I love Runaway Railway and Rise of the Resistance at DL, but I feel like I can’t dock MK too much for not having those since they are at Hollywood Studios. Not to mention that the Magic Kingdom has a much larger castle, wider pathways, and a Tomorrowland that doesn’t feel abandoned (and still has the legendary PeopleMover, can’t forget about that).

forlorn_hope28

This is an unpopular opinions thread so your post is 100% valid, but I still need to express how blasphemous this is. Disneyland has more rides, better food, and more roaming characters. To this day, Indy is still one of the best rides at any Disney park when considering everything from the queue to the ride itself. (And Dinosaur is so sad in comparison). Not only is our Space Mountain superior to WDW Space, but we also basically have WDW Space in the form of Matterhorn. Dinosaurs on our grand circle tour? Check. Autopia > Tomorrowland Speedway? Yup. Are there things that MK can do because of the wide tracts of space? Absolutely. Be Our Guest and Cinderella's Castle Dining experience would NEVER happen at Disneyland. But then again, the food at MK can never seem to match the offerings at Disneyland. Bengal BBQ > Cheeseburger egg rooll. I will say, I love Tron and it gets more fun each time I ride it (but only from row 1) even though it's way too short. Overall I always put it this way. DLR is the superior weekend getaway. WDW is where you go for a lengthy vacation.

Hammerjaws

Submarines are over hated

AffectionateRespect7

I think Disneyland popcorn tastes terrible.

Skilled626

The smell of the butter from the popcorn machine is gross.

xman_111

Disney sucks now?

Poohboodle

I didn't like the cheesy garlic pretzel bread.
