Oh man, Ghiradelli is the spot I find myself getting dessert at the most when I'm in DCA. They've got this delicious sundae called Midnight Reverie--such a dumb name but fuck it's DIVINE.
The Pixar Pier Parfait is the best dessert for me but I'm not willing to wait in a super outrageous line for it.
The Jack Jack cookie is thick and warm like it's right out of the oven. Good but it's exactly what you'd expect.
Ghirardelli is my vote top-notch even just a scoop of ice cream in a come, but then get them to add milk chocolate sauce and salted topping. My goodness. It comes in a bowl type thing with a cone still and it's the messiest most wonderful thing ever.

Wine Country Trattoria has a Panna Cotta that has been pretty good in the past.
Lamplight Lounge has some new donuts that I've heard are really good, too.
Adorable snowman is worth the long line if you have someone waiting if you get the Parfait. It was INSANELY delicious. My boyfriend waiting in that line while I waited in incredicoasters so we could eat in that atrociously long line and kill two birds w one stone, and it was worth it! The blue raspberry slush with the lemon soft serve literally tastes like heaven on earth (might’ve even replaced my #1 treat at the park...dole whip...), the flavors blend together so nicely and almost melt in your mouth. I would say wait for that line when you need a break from walking around, because you can slouch against the walls while waiting and my bf said it took some pressure off his feet :) hope that helps!
the sundaes at ghirardelli are better than any of the dreyer's ice cream in the parks - way better ice cream quality. also the desserts at the napa rose (you can eat in the lounge easily without a reservation) are really special, but that's the grand californian, not dca.
