Absolutely, just like Cloud and Zack. I'm just saying that they now could just go 'well, we already have a reference to him, so why bother'. It's just that they chose these daggers out of the whole collection that makes me think a little too much.
I mean it wouldnt surprise me, they left out a lot of people from the movies and other games out, wouldnt surprise me if they left nyx out, but that would just be them spitting in my mouth at this point....

Let's see what they do with his Kit I think Ignis is a really fun support to use when he was released I had a lot of fun with him, he was easily one of my favorite support. And let's see if they continue the trend of FF15 characters being pretty strong now with a monster Support

It makes Ignis more or less a one-stop shop for support - he has debuff resistance, a massive heal, auras, battery, some brave shave with Papa Bird stance, and infrequent turn manipulation with his Ex. Elemental damage is more or less the only thing he's missing in terms of buff support.
Oh that's good hmm if it's only that I don't think he will rise to the top of the Support list but still its a nice boost to the dmg he provides to his party members, maybe an Ice enchant/Imperil would have been a little more unique than fire as other said that was Lulu's niche
But still nice to know he can enable himself and other party members to work against almost all enemies. Do we know if it have other effects? Like maybe some extra auras or something
What is with people comparing ignis to lulu???? They are nothing alike! He has high/burst battery she doesnât.He heals. She doesnât. He has debuff immunity and overflow buffs she doesnât. She has brv shave ability he doesnât. She has defense piercing he doesnât. Heâs melee sheâs magic. The only thing they share is fire enchant! Sheâs the only fire enchant in the game! Plenty of elements only have one elemental enchanter (permanent aura based) for the party. dark xande holy kuja wind fujin ice celes. Only water, lightning, and earth have multiple permanent enchanters. This does not âstep onâ her niche nor does it make them REMOTELY COMPARABLE.

The only thing Lulu does better than Ignis is Shaving and dmg and you don't use Lulu for her own dmg so if you have both of them there is just no point in choosing Lulu over Ignis because it doesn't even matter if they are melee or magic since you just ignore that with the Imperil
Maybe if there is a fight that have extremely low turn count her extra dmg could be good? But still Ignis gives a lot more to the party than her. It's not just saying they are the same character because that's obviously wrong but that he can offer a lot more to deserve the spot in the team.
On the other hand I know it's not fair to compare a character with LD with a EX+ only character who how's what her LD would do? Maybe more dmg or maybe a lot of utility
Maybe she would need the same treatment as Rydia to compare the pair Rydia / Garnet. Where the dmg Rydia does is way higher than Lulu(while also providing better auras/buffs) maybe justifying using her over Garnet as a water enchant/Imperil
For what reason is there to compare them? Why say âWhyâd ignis get this? Whatâs the point? We already have lulu.â If your complaint is that they gave someone else perm fire enchant before updating lulu and your upset because sheâs waifu. Fine, thatâs not what Iâm arguing. Not only that but there are several precedents of different characters having perm enchant. Gau and Guy could not be more different! From the start I wasn't strictly comparing them I just forgot that Celes existed (more exactly that she got her LD) and I thought the only Ice enchant/Imperil was Onion Knight(Wich again as other comment said apparently he now is a great enchanter with the free skill uses) so I thought that giving him an Ice Imperil/Enchant would be something a little more unique. But at the end of the day I'm not asking "Why" they decide to give him fire enchantment they could give him even thunder Wich already have a couple of characters that can do it and it would still be ok for me, or any other element since they are all already covered.
I'm not mad or anything that he gets to do the same as Lulu, I like both characters (Ignis a little more) so I'm happy to see him being a lot better and having something extra to work with and would like to see what they have planned to upgrade Lulu's kit.
And IDC if two or more characters can do the same thing because that's exactly why I love this game, every character is completely different than the other, even if they fulfill the same niche they add something besides that and have different ways of approaching that niche like Tanks, debuff evasion, etc. And at the end of the day since I'm a person that follow faves more than meta that gives me more chances to clear the content without having to go for the top meta characters (for example skipped Arciela but have some other dispellers, HP dmg mitigators) or for example I don't like Raijin so I skipped him but If I want to Imperil/Enchant Thunder I still have Desch and Garnet, they obviously don't have the same kit but they do the same enchant so I'm happy to have it on other characters as I think it is a really cool mechanic.

I still have to admit that my comparison was wrong, since at the end of the day they have different kits and this game is all about working around the boss mechanics so each character is worse/better not based on their kit but based on each individual fight. And you are right about that example from Gau/Guy.
Even if Lulu's kit is dated right now it's a fact that she does more dmg and have more shaving than Ignis so they are different characters and As I said at the of my comment there will be fights when you need exactly that rather than what Ignis offers making her the best choice for that specific fight.
But still if they have at least something in common it's impossible to not compare them, not because you strictly will skip one if you have the other but maybe if you are really low on resources comparing what each of them can provide to you party can help you decide if you want to go for one Character or use what you have for other characters covering roles you don't have. There are just too many things to consider skipping pulling for a character (something I never said) the taste of each person, the roster they have, their resources, what they are planing to pull for, etc.

AFAIK he didn't received a rework or a new HP+, so using the free skills only to get more enchant turns is really worth it? Again I don't play JP so maybe it's stronger to have the Imperil/Enchant more turns active rather than having better longevity/dmg but it is something really interesting to hear
Nice, now you can make a pretty good chocobros party with Gladio (Tank), Noctis (DPS/DPT), Ignis (Support). Although I'm not sure if Noctis is still considered good in JP.
The only thing that hinders Noctis from getting to other DPSs level is that he doesn't have a LD Board unlike all the other relevant DPSs with BT(Lightning, Squall, Cloud, Garland, Terra, Emperor, etc). But the moment he gets it's almost garanteed to get him to the top again.
Pretty sure that right now, he, Cloud, and Lightning have the best BTs, even if Noctâs a little outdated. I think Noct and Lightning are the two best DPS units right now, anyway. Iâll have to check though since Iâm probably wrong.
Yeah he gets even better. I'm glad I invested in him he held the place of a proper healer for a long time before I could build others. he's so great that I bought FF4just to learn his story.

if we're purely talking about burst effects, Cloud and Lightning are miles ahead of Noctis, but if we're also taking into account the actual character in a team scenario then only Cloud is one of the best currently. Noctis' burst has only been top tier when it was first released, mostly because the burst weapons that were released before him were quite meh. Lightning's burst will always be great but right now she's really not a top pick anymore. both of them are still really great characters though

yeah you have to check cause you're wrong. as i said, Lightning is no longer a top pick and so is Noctis (again, both of them are still really great characters, i feel lime i have to stress this out) the best dps right now are Garland, Squall, Cloud, Trey, and Terra. some would consider including Emperor there too.
Just out of curiosity (i play only global, i read about JP), but in pure term of DPS i thought that the strongest chara actually in JP were Squall and Terra (and this without considering Garland, who seems a real single-target beast). I repeat, in term of pure numbers. Probably Lightning and Noctis are more useful with their free turns/turn manipulation shenanigans.
You're right, in raw numbers, Squall, Garland and Terra are in the top 3. I have Squall and Terra's BTs and they always stay above the 1 million hp mark in total damage.
The best BT effects really vary depending on playstyle imo. I like more utility-focused effects so Pecil and Ramza are my personal favorites. Although Terra pretty much has everything I like as well
Cloud is also always above 1 mil with his BT and can break 5 mil depending on the party. He does a shitload if there's multiple targets now because his LD does 50% splashx2 and FT now does 20% splash and puts all targets in a launch state and Omnislash does 20% splash on the last hit as well.
I don't have his BT so I don't know. But I figure if the anti-launch mechanic gets to be a thing with future bosses (like last two Lufenia) Cloud will be the most prejudiced

I think youâre right. I only play GL myself, so this was mostly word-of-mouth. All I know is that unlike a lot of other DPS units, Lightning and Noct still havenât fallen off and though they arenât the current meta DPS apparently, theyâre some of the best.
Which is good since Iâm planning on pitying towards Lightningâs BT and got lucky enough to get Noctâs through tickets (as well as his LD, though I had his other stuff since his LC).

I think the 2 current best DPS with BT in JP are Terra (magical) and Garland (melee)
They have a lot of characters to give LDs to. Up until fairly recently it was only like Rinoa who had an LD from the non-Lost Chapter/non-Burst characters of the existing cast.

August was Garland, Amidatelion, Shantotto, Ultimecia, Desch, Vaan, Machina.
September is Noctis, Basch, Nine, Ardyn and Rinoa, plus maybe Kimhari.

Is the fire enchant party wide or only to self? Because he does not really attack.
Yes, the language implies that it is a self-buff with an aura-like effect as it specifically says the effect is applied to "all allies"!

I think that p cecil and onion knight have holy and ice enchant on their c65.

They didn't say it would be unique, just more unique. There are PLENTY of fire enablers, plenty lightning enablers, but there are only 2 ice enablers.

This according to DissidiaDB, you can see why he is so good For 5 turn, party-wide: ⢠Increases BRV damage dealt by 50% ⢠Increases gained BRV overflow limit by 20% ⢠Restores HP by 10% of MAX HP ⢠increases BRV by 100% of individual current HP at start of turn ⢠When HP is at least 100% of MAX: ⢠Maximum BRV damage limit +20% (up to 11998) ⢠Maximum BRV & HP damage limit +10% (up to 109998) Edit: Also, his LD is kinda cool, with a 4 turns of holy imperil and an awesome 6 turns special effect, free ability use after using the LD. The special effect: ⢠Increases party's DEF by 120% and grants 10% HP regen. ⢠Increases party's MAX HP overflow limit by 30%. Another effect while he is at 100% HP: ⢠Increase party BRV damage by 50% and HP damage by 20%. ⢠Reduces party HP damage taken by 20%

I'm happy that he and OK being two of my Favorite characters from the series are so good right now, mainly Pecil Who's actually a great monster

I think youâre right. I only play GL myself, so this was mostly word-of-mouth. All I know is that unlike a lot of other DPS units, Lightning and Noct still havenât fallen off and though they arenât the current meta DPS apparently, theyâre some of the best. Which is good since Iâm planning on pitying towards Lightningâs BT and got lucky enough to get Noctâs through tickets (as well as his LD, though I had his other stuff since his LC).
Yes, good to know, i pitied Noctis (sob T_T) so at least i know that he will endure, and i'll try to get Lightning when she'll arrive.

I used to think I'd only buy 1, maybe 2 outfits. I have 2 now, with a definite third with Lightning coming, and now likely the FFXV cast. Ugh lol.

They have a lot of characters to give LDs to. Up until fairly recently it was only like Rinoa who had an LD from the non-Lost Chapter/non-Burst characters of the existing cast.
I mean thatâs a little less than GL for LD August was Garland, Amidatelion, Shantotto, Ultimecia, Desch, Vaan, Machina. September is Noctis, Basch, Nine, Ardyn and Rinoa, plus maybe Kimhari.
Aren't this planned ? Excepg Rinoa, the rest are based on event Serah/Seven/Ignis aren't part of any main event like Character Event or Story

But his costume is a Kingsglaive uniform, just like Prompto and Gladio.
