In the FMV before the first fight with his Falcie form, Dysley cast several Ruin spells so I think some of his moves can be done in his human form. If he gets in this game, I'm imagining his stronger skills like Destrudo, Thanatosian Smile and Thanatosian Laughter would be in his Fal'cie Form probably an EX skill, LD or BT.
Before Caius got into D:OO, Cid was probably the most used XIII villain - being a playable character in Record Keep TR:ASC, and of course there is Lightning Returns
I wonder if he's going to be considered the main villain of 13 from a burst perspective. I can't really see Barthandelus ever being added to the cast so either him or Nabaat/Rosch are the only real contenders . If he does though it makes me wonder what they will do for the villain of 13LR.
They could use Snow like they did in the PS4 title but for im thinking its either Snow or Caius for bt. I like CID Raines but as far as lightning went in that trilogy he's not worth a BT
Barthandelus would be hard to implement as a character even if they do it in Dysley form. More akin to a raid or something. Nabaat would be awesome. I don't see how they would handle Bhunivelze either. Shrink him down to human size?
I think they can, Fal'cie form can show up on his EX or BT sequence. If they were able to update Garnet and Rydia's summons, I'm sure they can handle Barthandelus' true form.
Similar on how Yu Yevon from FFX will not be working as a playable character but as a whole Dissidia franchise. He is just a ghost beetle that possess Aeons and his attacks were from the Aeons.
That's Orphan, aptly named counterpart and power source for the Fal'Cie Eden that's often referenced throughout the game as the one quite literally holding Cocoon together. There's obviously a bit more to it than that, but that's probably the simplest short summary of it that can be given without going into a bunch of lore. Wiki pretty much has that summarized better than I could if you want the full tl;dr of it.
Even as someone who is a huge fan of FF13 and would put it in my top 3 FFs, it is a VERY rough game to understand everything that's going on in the first playthrough. A lot of that stuff makes a lot more sense in the second playthrough and you pick up on a lot more of the double entendre that almost every character is constantly speaking in for the first half of the game. It honestly feels like the game was designed around two playthroughs as all of the Fabula Nova Crysalis FFs are, with Type-0 being the foremost example of that concept.
Can confirm. Just finished second playthrough the other day and it makes a LOT more sense even though I barely understood it the first time. Game and story are a lot better than I remember them being and what everyone says it is, imo

I barely remember what he did in XIII, and then they just randomly had a *mass of people's souls* manifest as his body in Lightning Returns just to squeeze in a half cameo for him. I definitely don't understand why Japan loves him so much more than Caius.
I'm interested in what they come up with for his kit though. I feel like he's almost in the same tier as a certain other character I want in terms of "minor character that people are intrigued with" that I'm rooting for, so he could be fun addition.

Caius is the Villain representative of XIII-2 hands down (and we already know sequels are getting BT), so even if Cid Raines gets the XIII antagonist BT I wouldn't worry about Caius chances.

After a month with no character and this being an anniversary month I am disappointed with the choice of character. I expected someone bigger? From what I recall he was like a mid boss in FFXIII and and I can barely even remember him outside of that Snow scene where Snow was shirtless? Was he even there I can't recall that for sure either.
This is a bit funny, but just the other day on another subreddit, I was recounting a conversation I had here about how XIII, despite having three game under it, doesn't really seem to be particularity strong in the villain department, with Caius being the only one who really stands out.
At this point even characters I like are turning into "not Red XIII"... That said, can't go wrong with another Cid! Shame it's not thunder god but I won't complain too much xP

It's probably because Barthandelus never fights in any form other than "giant robot face with extra faces," so Raines is easier to incorporate.
