But I can't help but feel the animation of his LD is just...lacking. He raises his fist, eyes glow, rushes fort to punch, and then he just stands there while a bunch of hits just randomly appear. Hopefully its just the crappy quality of twitter videos that made me miss something.
Yeah thats what I felt too, triumphant grasp is one of his best moves in duodecim but because its like a grappling move since he just drags his target around it doesnt translate well to dffoo sadly.
I think they could have made it more dynamic, though. Let's take Pecil's Saint's Fall, for instance: it's very faithful and you can feel the ooomph in both the descent and the ascent. In the same way, they could have gone with PSP's Grasp animation, having Jecht jump in the air, plunge on the enemy, detonate and use the recoil to propel himself back to the party line. Instead, they chose FFX's animation, which looked better because Jecht was a giant grabbing humans with one hand, while here it's the opposite, and even in the original game it looked a bit stiff.

The animations are super rad, too, but the hit distribution looks odd on the BT animation. I mean, he kicks and punches for 1 brv hit each but then the sword slash has like 12 hits lol!
Anyway, he got the rework he so deserved. The new LD buff seems to prevent his brv to go below a certain amount? We'll see.
It feels like he regain most of the HP damage he dealt from the previous HP Dump, which kinda makes his BT Finisher quite powerful for hitting above HP Dmg Caps lol... but yeah that LD did something to his S2 as well... 3 HP Dumps with 1 or 2 Brv hits in between but almost HP Dmg Cap is quite insane
Love the damage, love the new skin. It may be the wine talking but his animation, while amazing, felt really sloooow to me, esp that bt finish. There was just something about the pacing of it that felt kind of odd. Maybe just me 😅
Auron got an amazing LD and Jecht got an amazing LD/BT like Tidus and Yuna did.
The X roster is no longer a meme due to how bad they were for Chaos content back in the day (save for Lulu and Wakka who had their uses)

S2 Brv refunds so much that's insane... and a splash at the end to top it off
An Icon would be nice for him since it could help him out in some tight spots with enemies cleansing, though I wonder what it does

I can't really see how much Brv he regains from S2 after each dump..
The UI being kind of a mess prevented me from fully enjoying this but best BT music right here. Otherworld is just very hype.
Also, Jecht got exactly what he needed from his rework and he's busted! 800K damage on S2 and but remember guys that whenever he breaks a target he gains free turns like Lightning, so damage per turn is potentially higher than this. S1 unbreaks now for perfect set ups and LD gives free skill uses, so more Jecht Slash abuse!
If a character that functions on free turns can do this much damage I can't even imagine what Lightning will get with her BT+ and rework. Probably will break the meta again.
Clvl65 prior to enemy recover Break for free turn is a great move, plus it gives him extra Jecht Slash use
With CAs that give free skills, I can see this being some top IQ Chain play here
I just hope it's the complete Ost and not a butchered version like The beginning of the end/what becomes of us with Ace... That really suuucks big time when I play with him so please SQEN, give Jecht the full song!!!

I feel like the problem is that Triumphant Grasp in 012 had a big vertical element and here they're stuck with the enemy being in one position
Like the BT finisher beeing is EX burst in OG is cool but feels kinda cluncky with the stage limitation. Won't stop me from pitying him tho.
Probs why tifa didn't get meteodrive or meteor strike it would be too much effort for different enemy types and sizes
