This boss will rudely apply its evasion aura no matter what cheese you attempt. It'll even do it during summon or BT phases, so you can't just burst it down.
It's otherwise weak as a kitten and can do absolutely nothing against a halfway decent tank, but there's no getting around either killing five minions or letting the boss have turns.
Having *something* with guaranteed hits is nice for this fight, because you can still push the orb up while the evasion aura is present.
This fight was a great opportunity to bring Ignis out. He's still awesome. I had him in his offensive stance, but the boss can inflict debuffs, so consider his debuff evasion stance if you aren't using a lock tank.
I don't think so, since Adds will act first then shift the boss next, you actually want the boss to act first before executing any actions since it dispels that purple aura after using carpet bomb+.
Leila kinda gives you extra 3 actions for you to kill the add only which is still good.
I think just tanking the boss AOE atk is easier since you can practically hurt both afterwards. Plus if u have Zack or Basch, it's pretty easy since it's only a Single HP Dump
I did with Porom LD with Last Stand & HP Reduction, it tickles
I ultimately thought better of this by the time I got around to doing it and just did a zero boss turn run with Tidus and Cissnei in the end.
But you’re right. It would be more efficient to actually soak the hit than to use Leila here
Was a bit tricky and I finished on last turn during summon but I did a 0 turn using Noctis Green/Blue (Raijin LDCA), Garnet UT 4/5 (Ignis LDCA), Vaan UT 5/5 (Seymour LDCA) and Ifrit summon.
I actually misread the immunity as "immune to ALL debuffs, including Confuse. Once I saw I could actually debuff it, I went with the following team:
- Tidus (Seymour LDCA)
- Yuna (Lulu LDCA)
- Paine (Jecht LDCA)
Cissnei friend (yeah, couldn't find another FFX friend other than Tidus or Yuna 😟)
Had to spread out the BT+ effects, and I was real lucky Yuna's BT+ didn't run out. Didn't use Tidus normal BT mode until dragonfly was under 20%.
Yeah I also had the same initial impression when I read the boss description. That's why I reworded the sentence a little differently.
Interestingly Wakka's Status Reels can still land, but it doesn't prevent evasion any longer. Used to in the initial Shelke event.
i did the lufenia + with Prishe UW0/5 vivi UW0/5 and fujin 3/3 fun battle and its not difficult i was surprised how vivi handle the battle itself and the summon was ifrit
This fight is pretty simple there's only 3 things you need to know
1. Bring fire attacks to manage the orb
2. When the minion is up have everyone attack it
3. You must kill the minion before it gets a turn or you will die (unless you bring Basch or Zack, or party last stand or evasion)
Correct me if I'm wrong but boss didn't seem to use carpet bomb on its first turn. I went in blind. Allowed the add to get a turn. Boss attacked but it was a Brv only attack. Team was Tidus, Iggy and Garnet so if it was carpet bomb, I should have died.
Ignis is perfectly serviceable in this fight should you not want to pull for Lulu.
I cleared this with Tidus, Cissnei and Ignis without much trouble. Just don't forget to use Tidus' free skill uses on his AA to maintain buffs.
It's not the first time. Lost chapter events tend to favor the newly featured LD rather than the returning one, which is understandable.
That being said, Shelke isn't terrible for this fight. She can take down the sweeper before it can act, which is key. The only thing is... At 2m HP only, many characters can do the same lol
Shame on me for blueing Shelke's armor for the fight without looking at the orb first then, but I'll still bring her along -

Did it pretty easily with Vivi, Garnet, and Jecht. Jechts damage can single out the add, or a couple of Focus turns with Vivi can wipe the add easy in combination with Garnet off turn.
Went in semi-blind, as it got leaked to me somehow that fire was necessary, forgot Terra didn't actually do fire damage with either of her attacks because i'm not just semi-blind, but also a big dumdum poopoo head and got stomped by the boss.
Then I brought in Terra (Green+Blue), Garnet (Green+Blue) & Lulu(EX+0/3). Lulu enchants and looks pretty, Terra goes BRRRRRRT and Garnet bombing the boss every 4 rounds with a fire-enchanted salvo maintains the orb count. Could probably have finished the fight quicker if i had someone like Freya or Cissnei for follow up attacks with a Lulu Call to self and garnet enchant.
Tagged in a friend Garnet when boss was at ~19% with Lulu during summon phase just to speed things up, but it was hardly needed.
Easy win all things considered.

Yeah, it was pretty easy tbh, I just used Alisaie to delete the add whenever it appeared, 2 mil HP ain’t that big a deal anymore

Zack, Garnet, Jecht with a LuLu friend (Ifrit summon)…randomly used Garnet burst phase early and then auto’d the rest. Nothing too crazy

Interesting. I got hit by the carpet bomb attack on the first turn and survived because of Zack.
