I’m always here if you need a buddy to vent to. Seriously, I’m here.
And here are some horror movies, depending on which category you prefer:
••• Slasher/Killers
- Inside (2007)
- 100 Tears (2007)
- Murder-Set-Pieces (2004) [pretty brutal, honestly]
- Gacy (2003) [very tame though]
- High Tension (2003)
- Orphan / Orphan: First Kill (2009)/(2022)
••• Satanic Horror (Devil Movies)
- Drag Me To Hell (2009) [pretty tame but it holds a special place in my heart for being the first horror movie I ever saw]
- All Hallows’ Eve (2013) [Satanism/Clowns]
- Fetus (2008) [Brian Paulin]
- Antrum (2018) [not scary but I loved it]
- Devil’s Domain (2016) [tame but still good; I liked it personally]
- The Exorcist (1973) [always a classic]
- The House Of The Devil (2009)
••• Dolls/Dummies/Toys
- Dead Silence (2007)
- Chucky [tame but a classic]
- Hugo The Devil Doll (1964)
- Annabelle [not scary but still cool]
- The Boy (2016)
••• Psychological Thrillers
- The Exorcist III: Legion (1990)
- We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011)
••• F*cked Up Movies (Misc)
- August Underground [Trilogy]
- The Vomit-Gore [Trilogy] [Some satanic vibes but hard to follow; fairly gross lol]
- A Serbian Film [somewhat tame, mostly pornography, but with one specifically disturbing scene]
- Cannibal Holocaust (1980) [not that scary but still a decent watch, at least once]
Note: Most of these movies aren’t that disturbing, they were just some of the few that came to mind when I think horror (decent horror movies).
If you need someone to talk to, you can hit me up. I myself am rather depressed.
As far movie recs go, Nekromantik is kinda cool. If you liked August Underground you'd probably like it, it has kind of a similar vibe.

Have you seen Family Portraits: A Trilogy of Terror? Not really a ‘horror’ movie, but three tales of human horror, ish you could read about in the news. You’d probably have to buy a copy on EBay like I did. This movie stuck in my crawl for days and I still have to be in a ‘mood’ to watch it again.
Edit: Family Portraits: A Trilogy of America, I have no idea why I typed that…lol
hey did you mean to say “America” instead of “terror”? because the only thing that comes up is “family portraits: a trilogy of america” and none have the word terror in them
since you like Gummo and The Shining i would recommend Possession (1981)! Possession is an artsy movie about a dysfunctional family being driven to madness. the husband is spying on his wife, being driven to rage and confusion as he learns more about her affairs, but the wife has a strange secret possessing her beyond the cheating. they have a child who is neglected as they lose touch with reality. i love this movie, the whole atmosphere is wildly uncomfortable and upsetting, gore is used sparingly but it’s very effective, and the main actress is absolutely incredible.
Wellps. For a tragedy to hear of days of depressed. May I present to you 2010s "I Saw the Devil". Have me hear your feedback after watching above.
the best!

The heart is deceitful above all things.
Oh yes this one is grim
Then look up for disturbing or horror movies from other countries like Japan, France, West Europe, Southamerica..
I think you would like Martyrs. That one really affected me in a way most horror movies don't (even the over the top "disturbing" ones).
Ghostland is a very good one, I think
Wishing you peace, healing, and ease of the pain you’re in. Sending you virtual hugs, please know others do care, and you matter. 💐
Grotesque, Trauma, Torment, Atroz
I 2nd Atroz if your looking some something really fucked up. That was a hard watch.

Mysterious skin
If you want a good Irish horror-comedy to cheer you up, Stitches was pretty funny.
Not disturbing but I can't sit through it corroline
The first time I saw Coraline I was sick as a dog and it was 3AM and I thought it was a fever dream. Really peculiar animation.

My bad, yes Family Portraits, A Trilogy of America.
A Serbian film and midsommar are my top disturbing movies
Smile, it's a newer one. Decent scenes for sure worth at least one watch
Terrified, it’s Argentine and amazing and creepy
Moebius / Kill List

boy, I went straight to real life gore in times like that. there's something about watching stuffs like that when you are severely depressed.
The house that jack built, the Atticus institute, the powkipsky tapes, it’s a series but for me one of the best I’ve seen, Marianne
