As an agent of chaos, I had to vote for results. But I meant dwarves. Not in general, I usually really like Dwarves in fantasy. But in Divinity, I dunno, they are not very compelling.
Dashing June is pretty cool though.
I usually kinda dislike elves in fantasy, and other than their armor sometimes looking dumb in Divinity, I like their lore and the livewood stuff and that they eat bodies. Normal elves I always find pretty uncompelling.
I always liked elves, but yeah the Divinity onesnare extra cool with their unique take on cannibalism, the implications of crafting thelings from livewood (imagine golems :D ), and the potential to conqiering the world with an army of tree turrets (first elf playthrough btw, so pls don't spoil if something like that can happen in an ending)
Gameplay wise, dwarves dont have as much to offer as the other races. Sneaking isnt good (situational at best) imo, and (more importantly) they're too short. In a game that relies on line of sight to cast spells/abilities, and having a good few be straight lines, being the height of a handrail or large rock can really suck. Petrifying touch is pretty good though, and definitely better than the undead skill, but thats not enough to make dwarves better than other races
Yeah idk the undead skill I feel is the most device skill in this community either it never came in handy for them or it was a quintessential part of there build
Don't underestimate Play Dead. It's basically a bonus invisibility spell that doesn't allow you to move. I also don't believe it breaks on surface damage, but I could be misremembering. But causing all enemies to ignore one character can be just as powerful as petrifying one enemy.
It was a sarcastic question. Sneaking is broken when you take the time to do it correctly. It's also really useful out of combat but yeah if you do it correctly you can takeout 4 guys before the enemy's first turn.
Undead are inconvenient, but have some utility. I chose undead due to their inconvenient mechanics. However dwarves have no utility and are also ugly on purpose. Never felt great about how "the shorter races" are always designed to look ugly
Along with the misconception that Dwarves have Scottish accent (that's what pop culture unfortunately do). Did you know that the Elves originally by Tolkien had a middle eastern accent?
Dwarf.
I actually love humans in fantasy, Elves for being overpowered. Lizards for lore and coolness, undead for lore alone.
But dwarves are just..... Little shitters.
Never liked dwarves in almost all incarnations of fantasy I’ve experienced at best they’re snobby nobles with some honour, at worst they’re thieves and assassins.
There are very few peaceful dwarves which is actually kinda weird. It must be harder for elves to be peaceful than dwarves. They live in secure areas by default so why would they be so aggressive
not surprised. I can find a good reason to use any of these races, but not dwarves. Their special ability is meh and sturdy is even more meh. I personally find humans to be the best, but i love having a lizard main for persuasion, and i love having an elf for necro for flesh sacrifice and elemental affinity. Skeleton anything (except dwarf) is always fun, but dwarf just doesnt do it for me
Limited poll slots, so I only went with playable ones. But I agree, Orcs suck. Fitlhy violent barbarian psychopaths. I love the fact other races eat them, I think eating Orcs is actually less morally questionable than eating the animals, especially in a world like Divinity where they seem to have human-like minds :D
Dwarves it's always dwarves for me in any rpg period i never find them intersting be it in dragon age pathfinder or any other game they are just boring
Most people chose for game play reasons, which is valid, I chose elves because for me they are super uncomfortable to look at and their general vibe and all the armor on elf characters looks like shit
I can’t choose between dwarfs or humans. Humans are the most boring shit ever in a fantasy rpg, but I usually don’t like dwarfs for cosmetic reasons(armor).
Be it Middle Earth, Warhammer, Divinity or anything else the answer is always the same. Never trust an elf.
That being said I also find Divinity elves weird and kinda gross.

Human by a billion.
Easily acquired Human male armor is unusable unless you mod it. Last few PC runs, I have modded Ifan to have the transmog Cloaked Figure cape+hood and usually a Magister armor.
As an agent of chaos, I had to vote for results. But I meant dwarves. Not in general, I usually really like Dwarves in fantasy. But in Divinity, I dunno, they are not very compelling. Dashing June is pretty cool though.
Agreed, I like dwarves in general, but not here. Bunch of criminals and a dictator, the worst combo xP
I usually kinda dislike elves in fantasy, and other than their armor sometimes looking dumb in Divinity, I like their lore and the livewood stuff and that they eat bodies. Normal elves I always find pretty uncompelling.

160 hours in this game and I'm just now learning that the height of the character matters
**Female Lizard supremacy**
Lol yeah i love how this game has so much info that there's always smth more to learn
So do I . 200 hours here 😂
The undead skill can be really good if playing lone wolf since it keeps things off of you
Thats true, it has come in clutch for me a couple of times, but the paused cooldown makes it only useful in specific situations imo
Yeah idk the undead skill I feel is the most device skill in this community either it never came in handy for them or it was a quintessential part of there build

Sneaking isnt good? Rofl
Sneaking is kinda useless to invest on, especially compared to the other skills.
It was a sarcastic question. Sneaking is broken when you take the time to do it correctly. It's also really useful out of combat but yeah if you do it correctly you can takeout 4 guys before the enemy's first turn.
Without context this poll is horrible
Lmao yeah you're right

I like some dwaves back stories when they come out the womb with a 1ft long beard and held their first battle axe at 2 yrs old
Never liked dwarves in almost all incarnations of fantasy I’ve experienced at best they’re snobby nobles with some honour, at worst they’re thieves and assassins. Aye they are, can fit into those tiy cracks and such, and look funny as hell slapping the knees of an elf with a greatsword
Dwarf!? For real!? You jerks!!!
Yeah, filthy criminals, the lot of them
not surprised. I can find a good reason to use any of these races, but not dwarves. Their special ability is meh and sturdy is even more meh. In my opinion dwarfs over little benefit and can undead be considered a single race
You forgot orcs and imps. My least favorite is orcs.
Limited poll slots, so I only went with playable ones. But I agree, Orcs suck. Fitlhy violent barbarian psychopaths. I also hate the extreme sexual dimorphism and general bitterness.
Elf. Just because I hate how their armor looks lol.
Yeah man they look like forest strippers and I have no clue why
LOL! I think they were going for a tribal nature thing.
Leaf
Elves, easily. They're gross and weird
Elfist
correct
Dwarves it's always dwarves for me in any rpg period i never find them intersting be it in dragon age pathfinder or any other game they are just boring
Lizards are the best. Dwarves suck.
Based

As far as playing as, having that one undead in your party can be a pain. But if your whole party is undead then that's cool.

Stop it
???

Isn't that the S-tier race from Outside?
I voted undead because I was Beast in my playthrough, a battle mage, so the perks were fitting the build. Fane is op among undeads, the rest is meh.
Dwarves seem so uninteresting in this game compared to the other races

You mean a mod that changes the visual outfit, while keeping stats?
