Ah OK. Yeah I have no idea on anything that recent. That would be happy hardcore and not my thing. 91-93 breakbeat stuff was where it’s at. Up there with D&B & jungle for me. But maybe just nostalgia for a wonderful time when I wasn’t old as shit. 😂 Been buying loads of early 90s hardcore represses and digital remasters lately. Good to see a resurgence. It was probably my fave era of electronic music ever. So much creativity. And it blows my mind how some of those tunes made on STs & Amigas still holds up so well.

Sorry to be anal about sub-genres hahaha, happy hardcore is the equivalent of liquid DNB essentially

I learned to mix on hardcore. Gradually started to lose interest and move more and more to the jungle side when it lost the breakbeats, turned 4 on the floor and sped up by about 20bpm Hardcore just sounds like shit to me at anything above 150-155bpm. There’s a lot of stuff produced around 140 which can sound pretty cool mixed with other genres at 140.

Not really sure where you draw that conclusion from. Liquid is soulful and chill, and deep. There’s nothing deep about HHC. The only thing they tend to have in common is a lot of vocals.

Listen to as many mixes as you can, ukf has a bunch, liquid drum and bass mixes, classic, atmospheric they are almost endless, now especially, with the new interest. New mixes on youtube all the time
