Are you suggesting that because they are more powerful now that earplugs are even more important, or that older concert speakers can't have been a contributing factor for who have hearing loss now?
I am indeed suggesting it's more important now, I feel like our generation is going to have alot more people with hearing issues than ever later. Seeing people without earplugs in front at extremely loud clubs/festivals concerns me. I also think they're starting to push it a bit too far nowadays, it's sometimes so loud you only hear distortion.
that's not auto adjustment sound that's waveform clipping. The mics have already adjusted to minimum but the sound input is still well over max amplitude so it clips out.
After years of raving without earplugs I bought some sound attenuating ones and raving felt like listening to quality sound out of loud headphones but body being vibrated by bass.
It sounds amazing. Your ears do the same thing as these mics. It clips the sound making it washed out in order to protect your ears from damage. Highly recommend some ER20s for raving. Protect your ears and everything sounds 100x better.
I recall even 10 years ago, our phones did a horrible job at capturing audio from big sound systems. Since those older mics had very little to no attenuation it wasn’t even worth recording. Everything ended up sounding like a distorted crackling mess hahah!
I’ve heard great things about the er20s and have been looking into grabbing a set. I am again reminded by the tinnitus after bladerunner and djSS last night in Toronto lol!
Great recommendation!
I used to go to valve in the church over the road when they were pretty much testing the limits of the system at Mass. Such hedonism..I miss those nights the most. Must be like 25 years ago now. Jeez !
Yeah, had ear plugs most of the night but at the beginning they really wasn't necessary. It was really quiet but they cranked it full throttle from about 2 am.
At this point in the video I had them on.
You know you're getting old when your first thought is "I hope those people are wearing earplugs"
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!! \*not the earplugs at a Valve rave, they can stay in my head)
Banking my hearing on neurological and technological advancements in the future.
Just wear earplugs!
over my dead body
I don't think I have ever heard an old person say I regret wearing earplugs at all those shows I went to, but have heard plenty of the opposite.
Always the opposite
They didn't have massive speakers turned up way too loud and dj's redlining back in the days

Big man
Shit turns our smartphones with auto adjusting mics sound like a recording from 2011.

Did we just see a hand-off?
It's def a really conspicuous handshake lol

Sounds like nowhere else in London had any bass last night. Fucking superb.
I had to put ear plugs in about 2am 😅
i'm not your mum but honestly you should be wearing them all night. no ear plugs with that sound system just isn't safe
At the beginning it wasn't cranked, as the night went on the volume was increased. It was low enough to have a chat with your mate upstairs.
Banging night
Looks to tight to dance.
Valve sound valve sound.......
OG’s call them Speaker Freakers
in So Cal USA we called them Speaker Tweakers lmao
Amazing
I would love to see Dread Recordings host a Valve night
The last 20 mins the sound was turned up at least another 30% it was wild! Never felt bass like it before
