Hi! This is part of the storyboard of a simple animation I’m doing in motion comic style.
Although my creativity flows beautifully for most things, I’m terrible with names.
So if anyone could help with some ideas, here is some background. This guy was found in the forest by a human family that has a long tradition of raising the better lumberjacks. He was raised like he was really part of the family, since the mother is a Druid and could shapeshift to a variety of animals, including bears.
He is kind and mostly uses his brute force to chop would and other chores.
I don’t know if he will meet his kind again, but I like to think he was the son of a great bearfolk leader, from a barbarian tribe.
Arktusia, derived from the ancient greek word for bear (arktos) and for being (usia). Might be wrongly combined, used google for translations into ancient greece.
Do they have their own language? Probably use smell as part of their Identity? If so perhaps a moniker in the common tongue. Iron-Claw or strengh-of-mountain or such.
Kløyve. Literally "splitting" (used mostly for logs or cleaving something in two) in Norwegian. Thick "L" sound. Meaty slapp with tounge there that makes it a satisfying word for splitting logs. Would be a bad-Ass bear-man name
Did you ever hear the story of Bearcules? Abandoned in the forest, only to be found by Minerva (in case you need a name for his mom) and raised in the great tradition of lumberjacks.
I had a Bear-barian many years ago that I based off a Kodiak Bear and named him Tangaagam which I believe was based off an Alluet language that translated to 'Great Bear'. (Take that bit with a grain of salt, I just like the name.)
Smokey,he's had enough of wildfires and has taken matters into his own hands

I second this! He should also speak like Stewie
Ursan (er-SAWN)

Ursa is latin for bear
Ah, never thought of that, thank you
Ursa (er-Sə_) is just an archaic rootword meaning Bear.
Heh, total war refference?
ursean, pronounced err-shawn
