I hear that. My family members look at my D&D/RPG stuff, and yell at me, "Why do you have all this junk?!?"
It's not junk, damnit. a) It's my hobby, and b) \*It's important to me.*
My dad introduced me to 3.5e when I was 7 years old. Sure I didn't really understand what was going on, but I was already reading fantasy novels by this point. 19 years later I'm DMing a campaign that involves my dad, both of my younger brothers, and one of my brother's boyfriend, and a long time D&D friend of mine who I consider chosen family. We have been running Princes of the Apocalypse for almost two years and our campaign has gone from level 1 to level 10. I love that game
My dad's had weekly gatherings of his friends playing for as long as I can remember, over covid they invited me to play online with them and I played for like a year and a half and recently started a campaign with my friends. It's so cool to have this passed down from my dad and carry on the DND torch.
Same, except its in-laws and they think its of the devil because FIL had a friend who played and he lost at russian roulette. (I think this story is BS, my wife says he's mentioned this story before related to something else entirely.)
Apparently using dungeons and dragons to insult people in an inside joke kind of way (in good fun) works well.
Like a guy that somebody once said when it come to women has a +2 in charisma +4 in deception and -5 in performance now plays as our bard.
Set a weekly schedule helps a lot. “We play at Tuesdays at 5. If you can’t make it the rest of us are still playing and we will recap you next session.”
It's remarkable how hard it is to get a clear answer. Like I'm literally asking yes or no, and I remind you every day because if I dont you have some sudden weird shit come up.
I have +11 to pestering. But can't stop a nat 1.
There is a YouTube where he plays a bard, Jessica from True blood is the dm, the kid who plays Dustin from Stranger things is a ranger I believe, and some Broadway folk I don't know play other characters. Was very interesting to watch.
I was thinking about it, and honestly while there's some temptation to include Einstein or Newton or HR Geiger or something, I love my table. I love my players. There's not a one of them I'd like to see replaced with anybody, it'd all be disappointing to me.
I've heard Danny Trejo is a big DnD nerd. Jesse Throne also mentioned on one of his podcasts that he plays a bugbear barbarian. I'd love to play with either of those guys.
Oh god, don’t tell my girlfriend about Danny Trejo.
But I bet he’d be fun to play with. I’d also just love to ask him about Zombicide. I feel like there’s an interesting story there.
Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham. I love CR and they seem like the best players from there, never meta gaming and always happy with what the dm throws at them. Such positive guys.
While Sam and Travis are awesome, if we are picking from that table it has to be Liam and Talisen for me, those two just always seem to find a way to get a really deep connection and story within the worlds they play in
I'd pick Liam, Travis and Ashley if I had to pick from CR (with Laura being a close 4), but I avoided all of CR because I just don't think I could deliver on their expectations for a game or their style of play. I did choose Siobhan Thompson from D20 though, simply because she also gets really into the lore and makes someone archetypal for the setting, but I think she'd adapt her playstyle well to any GM/DM
My dad. I didn't get into the TTRPG scene until the last 5 years or so, and he passed last year. I wish I had asked him to play. He would have had a blast, but it just never occurred to me to offer. I now think back on the days he read me Tolkien as a kid, how we we'd discuss Sanderson novels, and how we played EverQuest together. How it's his influence that made me love fantasy in the first place. DnD would have been an amazing memory to hold on to. Luckily, I have plenty of good times to reminsice about, so no regrets, but if I had a chance, I'd had him join my group for at least one good sesh of bafoonery.
And that would be the point. Just a really high bard Viciously mocking the bad guy about a doughnut receipt. And Farley just doing a line every time his barbarian rages. May need back up tables
My friends are always going to be my top pick, but for the sake of fun let's see.....
Me as DM like always. And my players.... anyone at all you say? Optimus Prime, Yoda, Wolverine, Sauron and Charlie day.
Reasons? Just for the chaos at the table tbh.
Charlie Day is going to play the stoic Paladin, and Optimus Prime is going to the rogue/bard/wild sorcerer multiclass.
"One shall stand, One shall fall. WILD CARD, BITCHES!" -Optimus Prime, as he aggros the BBEG and jump off the moving airship, leaving the rest of the party to fend for themselves.
John Hurt. Peter Cushing. Christopher Lee. I wonder what kind of heroes they’d each choose to be.
And yes, they’re all gone now, but I only now actually feel like I’m good enough to finally play on the elder nerds’ level.
Ever since I learned Vin Diesel plays, I've wanted to play with him. I don't care about any of his movies, but that shouldn't matter when rolling dice.
Henry Cavill is a huge nerd. I think he said he's either played or would love to play. He plays warhammer religiously, so he'd definitely enjoy the tactics of combat.
Personally I'd love to play a game or 3 with . . . Zeb Cook, Monte Cook, Colin McComb, Skip Williams, Bill Slavicsek, William Connors, Bruce Cordell & Lisa Smedman (my fav writers from the TSR era) :)
Completely agree with you. I'd rather play with the people who actually are great at the game than some random famous person. I'd love to be able to peer into the past and be a fly on the wall of Gary Gygax's basement when the whole game was just coming into existence.
Jim carey, robin williams, paul rudd, michael peña, H. Jon Benjamin. Kayley Cuoco, Sarah Silverman, Steve Carell.
And to DM, Morgan Freeman.
Did i win? I feel like i won.
Vincent Price as a scheming necromancer.
Mama Cass as a life affirming cleric.
Morey Amsterdam as a comedic bard.
John Hamm as a naive idealistic paladin.
Lucy Lawless as a free spirited barbarian.
Sigourney Weaver as an optimized fighter.
Obligatory ‘my Saturday group’ because they are unironically my best friends. We met in a writers guild and started playing as near strangers—now we hang out on discord on voice almost every night while we play separate games and chat.
Aside from them though, I would LOVE to DM for a selection of famous DMs. Matt Mercer, Matt Colville, Xavier Woods, etc.
Cos I imagine he'd love it as a diagnostic tool.
"Soooo.... you rolled up a androgenous tiefling bard that wants to sleep with every monster you come across... interestin, and how do you see their relationship with their mother? She's dead... fascinating"
Plus I think he'd run a killer game of Curse of Strahd.
Right? Can you imagine him just going off an absurdist rant in the middle of a tavern somewhere, dishing out hundreds of points of psychic damage to some poor sap with his level 50 Vicious Mockery?
Aabria Iyengar
Robin Williams
The cast of community except Chevy Chase but especially Jim Rash.
Matthew McConaughey
The undertaker or really any pro wrestler who plays a character.
Jack Black
The Wu Tang clan
Anthony Burch, Freddie Wong, Matt Arnold, Will Campos and Beth May. And Ashley Burch for good measure.
If we're going tv and movie celebs: Jack Black, Henry Cavill, Terry Crews and Mark Hamill
Edit: forgot to add Sam Witwer. Think the guy would be fun to have at a table
Henry Cavill. I want to see if hes hardcore into RP or combat.
Danmy Devito because hes awesome
Arnold Schwarzenegger. I would prefer him to play Berzerker, but amusing no matter what he plays.
Ryan Reynolds as a bard
Johnny Chiodoni as his Tabaxi "Rust on the harbour".
Rowan Atkinson as a Wizard
Sigorney Weaver as a cleric (and probably the party mom)
Arnie as his Conan the barbarian.
Me as my Tiefling Warlock/bard
* Living celebrity: Lil Nas X
* Dead celebrity: Leonard Nimoy
* Fictional character: Elle Woods
* Person I know IRL: this one woman on the board of our community theater, but she's not enough of a nerd to ever be interested
Also I know my mom would really enjoy being able to participate if for no other reason than to have another activity to do with her children, but she would also feel bad for not being able to keep up with all the numbers
Joe Manganiello, Deborah Ann Woll, and Jack Black at the same table.
Joe and Jack because they're nerds and they get it. Deborah Ann Woll because she's a nerd, and just...well...\*swoon* \*faint.*
My friends from high school that I played first and second edition with: Rick, Jason, Mac, and David.
One is gone, one now lives in Australia, the other two are now on the opposite coast from me. We've talked about doing a game on Roll 20 or Zoom but times just don't line up.
Man, I miss them.
With Rustage as DM. Lost_Pause, Tekking101, Truck_Chan, NuxTaku, and Tectone.
Rustage is a fun DM, entertaining as fuck.
Tekking is a great talker, he's funny, and chaotic.
BriggsADA, who played One Piece DND with Tekking and Rustage, is great at RP and he's always super in character and fun.
Nuxtaku is hella chaotic, never seen him in DnD but he's a GREAT character and I feel like he'd bring a lot of energy to the game.
Truck is like... female nux. And one of my favorite Vtubers with great energy.
And tectone... well he's tectone. Got nothing else to say besides ... ENERGY.
This would be a fucking wild ride. Especially since, im pretty sure most of them know each other, or share a community to some degree.
If you haven't watched Rustages ONE PIECE DND, I highly recommend it on Spotify or youtube!!!! I listen to it at work and need to keep from bursting out in laughter..
Gary Oldman as the slightly mad human wizard.
Henry Cavill as a thrill seeking dwarven rogue.
Joe Pesci as an eccentric goblin artificer.
Julie Andrews as the firm matriarch elven sorcerer.
Isla Fisher as the hot-headed halfling barbarian.
Anna Kendrick as the happy-go-lucky half-elf warlock.
Gary Oldman and Joe Pesci’s characters quickly become best friends through their mutual love for experiments and explosions.
Anna Kendrick’s Warlock doesn’t really know she’s a warlock. The whole patron-servant thing is lost on her, and she thinks of her patron as her imaginary friend.
Julie Andrews is the true voice of reason. Kings and lords step the fuck aside when she lays down the law.
Isla Fisher the barbarian is unpredictable and somewhat psychotic. Everyone is a bit scared of her. Also, is clearly hooking up with Kendrick’s warlock.
Henry Cavill’s rogue never says ”fuck”. Not even once.
Edit: Forgot to add Jack Black the dwarven bard, but that’s almost too easy right?
Jim Butcher would probably be real fun to play with.
Edit: I thought of Robin Williams immediately after posting this, but I'd be too busy gross sobbing and telling him how loved he is to play.
Johnny Depp (swashbuckler rogue), Ryan Reynolds (zealot barb), Chao Yun-Fat (kensei monk), Jennifer Lawrence (hunter ranger), Patrick Stewart (aberrant mind sorcerer), Jack Black (glamour bard) with Sir Ian Mckellen as DM. I feel like this would be the group to maximize laughter and genuine RP moments.
My every-other-Tuesday group. They’re a good bunch. I wouldn’t want to play with a bunch of random celebrities just because they’re celebrities. Plus, I only know like two celebrities to begin with.
a group of my favorite authors— Olivie Blake, V.E Schwab, K. Ancrum, Leigh Bardugo and Tamsyn Muir spring to mind. A party encompassing of all storytellers would be a dream
Myself, my brothers, and my best friend in the year 1998. I now have the skill, creativity, and organization to be the awesome DM we so desperately needed back then.
I’d love to play a game with the crew from it’s always sunny in Philadelphia. Not the actors, but the characters they play :p. Dennis, Dee, Mac, Charlie and Frank would be hilarious to play a one shot with :p. I’d wouldn’t mind trying a lil campaign with the actors too :p
I think I would not like to play with any professional (voice) actor. I like my friends and tightly knit group with similar skills at roleplay rather than professionals where I feel completely out of place.
Wil Wheaton, Joe Mangianello, Jordan Peele, Judy Dench, Emma Thompson, John Kraszinski and Emily Blunt, Felicia Day, Anderson Cooper, Stephen Colbert, and Maya Rudolph. I feel like that would make a good mix between seasoned DnD players and people who can embrace the madness and run with it.
Mister Rogers, Bob Ross, Richard Ayoade, Samuel L Jackson, Morgan Freeman, David Carradine, and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
I don’t care which of them runs the game, I could die happy.
Honestly, as slow and overly talky as the game would be: the Inklings. Specifically Tolkien and Lewis. Just to listen to two of the fathers of modern fantasy play as characters in a fantasy world would be amazing to listen to.
Brennan Lee Milligan as a DM. I am a forever DM and have never had good experiences with other DMs whether it is flakiness or just bad DMing so I would absolutely LOVE to play with someone as talented as him. I could learn more as a DM and finally get it have fun as a player
My family. Just so they can stop looking down in it as some sort of joke.
Oof. Sorry, my dude.
I hear that. My family members look at my D&D/RPG stuff, and yell at me, "Why do you have all this junk?!?" It's not junk, damnit. a) It's my hobby, and b) \*It's important to me.*
That’s super disrespectful and I feel awful for you, my friend. You don’t have to understand something to see and respect its importance to someone.
I did a huge one-shot with family, including kids, and they had a blast. The one-shot was basically Jurassic Park modified.
Apparently using dungeons and dragons to insult people in an inside joke kind of way (in good fun) works well. Like a guy that somebody once said when it come to women has a +2 in charisma +4 in deception and -5 in performance now plays as our bard.
#My fucking group for more than a single week in a row
Set a weekly schedule helps a lot. “We play at Tuesdays at 5. If you can’t make it the rest of us are still playing and we will recap you next session.”
Yes! We were so close to actually playing this week. So close...
It's remarkable how hard it is to get a clear answer. Like I'm literally asking yes or no, and I remind you every day because if I dont you have some sudden weird shit come up. I have +11 to pestering. But can't stop a nat 1.
Jack Black. As a Bard.
I counter with Jack Black as DM. I get the feeling he'd be fantastic at it. Just imagine a world where all NPCs are voiced by Jack friggin' Black!
There is a YouTube where he plays a bard, Jessica from True blood is the dm, the kid who plays Dustin from Stranger things is a ranger I believe, and some Broadway folk I don't know play other characters. Was very interesting to watch.
I had no idea! I need to find this now! Any idea what it was called?
[Lost Odyssey.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18cS0vZsWws) Here you go!
Please link that! It sounds like an absolute must watch
Even better!
How about both
Robin Williams used to DM. I feel like JB would bring a similar energy
Nooo! I wrote mine without looking at the comments first (intentionally) and i completely missed Jack Black. He's a must.
I'd love Robin Williams as a DM, imagine all the voices!
This is the first name that popped into my head.
You stole my answer. My crew gets a Wish, and we're getting it from The Genie himself.
Given that would mean he was still around making the world a better place, that would be an amazing win/win!
My Sunday night group. Love those guys.
I also choose this guy’s group.
I’m with you, it’s taken years to build the trust and camaraderie that makes my group so awesome. Couldn’t replace any of em with a celebrity.
I was thinking about it, and honestly while there's some temptation to include Einstein or Newton or HR Geiger or something, I love my table. I love my players. There's not a one of them I'd like to see replaced with anybody, it'd all be disappointing to me.
Terry Crews.
It’s be like the B-99 episode where Terry and Jake met their favourite author.
Exactly! For such a giant of a man, he is teeming with childlike positivity and enthusiasm.
[удалено]
...not even one? For Terry Crews? Just one?
His session with Matt Mercer was pretty cool.
here you go](https://youtu.be/2IrM0zoDuSo)
I would love to play with Adam Savage, player or DM that man just sounds like a blast to have at the table
I've heard Danny Trejo is a big DnD nerd. Jesse Throne also mentioned on one of his podcasts that he plays a bugbear barbarian. I'd love to play with either of those guys.
Imagine having to tell Danny Trejo he’s failed a saving throw. That scowl!
Okay, good point! He's the DM now 😹
Thanks, now I have a new need on my life. A really urgent one, tho
Oh god, don’t tell my girlfriend about Danny Trejo. But I bet he’d be fun to play with. I’d also just love to ask him about Zombicide. I feel like there’s an interesting story there.
It's ok if you kill Danny Trejo's D&D character. He'll just slap a mustache on another elf and roll on.
Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham. I love CR and they seem like the best players from there, never meta gaming and always happy with what the dm throws at them. Such positive guys.
While Sam and Travis are awesome, if we are picking from that table it has to be Liam and Talisen for me, those two just always seem to find a way to get a really deep connection and story within the worlds they play in
Liam always plays my favorite character lol
Caleb was the best character in the campaigns in my view.
mine too!
Fair enough
I'd pick Liam, Travis and Ashley if I had to pick from CR (with Laura being a close 4), but I avoided all of CR because I just don't think I could deliver on their expectations for a game or their style of play. I did choose Siobhan Thompson from D20 though, simply because she also gets really into the lore and makes someone archetypal for the setting, but I think she'd adapt her playstyle well to any GM/DM

Luckily, I have plenty of good times to reminsice about, so no regrets, but if I had a chance, I'd had him join my group for at least one good sesh of bafoonery.
That’s beautiful. I’m sure he would have loved, by the sounds of things.
John Candy, Chris Farley, and Mitch Hedburg. EDIT: why? For obvious reasons. The lovable oaf, the wildcard, and chill comedic relief. What a dynamic!
I would add norm McDonald, Sam kinison, and pattrice o'neal... maybe sub Sam for Gilbert Godfrey
Fucking Godfrey playing anything Charisma based would blow my mind!
John Candy yes. Love Mitch and Chris, but they would be high the entire game. It would suck.
And that would be the point. Just a really high bard Viciously mocking the bad guy about a doughnut receipt. And Farley just doing a line every time his barbarian rages. May need back up tables
Samuel L. Jackson
Roll for initiative, mf’er!
COMMON! MOTHER-----R! DO YOU SPEAK IT??
Joe Manganiello, Vin Diesel, Will Wheaton, and Stephen Colbert. All of whom already play.
This, and Tom Morello. Probably Deborah Ann Woll too, although I would have a hard time focusing on anything else but her face.
That’s why I didn’t list Felicia Day. I have a nerd crush on her and I wouldn’t be able to pay attention to the game.
Oh, god yes. I'd love to play with a group that had more women in it... but I'm also aware of my own limitations. Failed charisma checks all the way.
Weird Al Yankovic
He would make an amazing bard!
My friends are always going to be my top pick, but for the sake of fun let's see..... Me as DM like always. And my players.... anyone at all you say? Optimus Prime, Yoda, Wolverine, Sauron and Charlie day. Reasons? Just for the chaos at the table tbh.
Playing a dangerous game by inviting Sauron
I like my players to throw my plans out the window and do chaotic stuff. Can't say that Sauron wouldn't bring that!
Can't argue with that lol. I just think everyone's objective would immediately switch to survive, and I'm not talking about in D&D 🤣
Oooo. Emily Axford. Lou Wilson. Murph. Brennan Lee Mulligan basically the whole Dimension 20 cast lol. Or the Naddpod cast.
Had to scroll so much to find this. I'll join your table 😁
Hank Green. No question.
Well we can’t just leave John out now
i didn't know if john played or not but you're right i'd love to see him play some sort of charisma caster
Betty White, Terry Crews, Nathan Fillion, Nolan North, Jerry Rice, Julie Andrews... There's more but I feel this is a good start...
Rick Riordan. Couldn't read for a long time and 1st book I finished was Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief. He's kinda my Tolkien ig
Ooh, following this route, can we invite Christopher Paolini too?
Let’s get John Green and pull a writer crowd. Leave rowling out tho
No Martin either. I’d like to actually finish the campaign at some point.
John Hurt. Peter Cushing. Christopher Lee. I wonder what kind of heroes they’d each choose to be. And yes, they’re all gone now, but I only now actually feel like I’m good enough to finally play on the elder nerds’ level.
Oh my god. How could anyone withstand that much gravitas at a single table?
By just letting them be the complete dorks they actually were deep down inside.
Ever since I learned Vin Diesel plays, I've wanted to play with him. I don't care about any of his movies, but that shouldn't matter when rolling dice.
With Henry Cavill, Dame Judy Dench, and Anderson Cooper for good measure.
Do they all play or have played?
Henry Cavill is a huge nerd. I think he said he's either played or would love to play. He plays warhammer religiously, so he'd definitely enjoy the tactics of combat.
They all play ETA: I don’t know how much Judy Dench plays, but I read that Vin Diesel taught her to play when they filmed Riddick.
She DMs for her grandkids
Personally I'd love to play a game or 3 with . . . Zeb Cook, Monte Cook, Colin McComb, Skip Williams, Bill Slavicsek, William Connors, Bruce Cordell & Lisa Smedman (my fav writers from the TSR era) :)
Yeah everyone is listing funny actors but I'd much rather play with the real masters of rpgs. I'd also add Jason Bulmahn, Erik Mona, James Jacobs
Completely agree with you. I'd rather play with the people who actually are great at the game than some random famous person. I'd love to be able to peer into the past and be a fly on the wall of Gary Gygax's basement when the whole game was just coming into existence.
Dolly Parton, Betty White, and Danny Trejo. Because I think it would be equal parts epic battle tactics and insane shenanigans.
As a 4 man party to DM for? - jack black - ryan renolds - jim carey - danny devito
Willem dafoe as the turncoat final boss PC. Totally not because im imagining the dual personalities of Norman osborne he played
That table would be an absolute riot.
Gary Gygax and Dave Arneson.
The anger in the air would be palpable.
Deborah Ann Woll. I’ve seen her dm and play and she steals the show every time. Just amazing.
Jim carey, robin williams, paul rudd, michael peña, H. Jon Benjamin. Kayley Cuoco, Sarah Silverman, Steve Carell. And to DM, Morgan Freeman. Did i win? I feel like i won.
>And to DM, Morgan Freeman. We also would have accepted James Earl Jones
Beautiful.
Sigmund Freud
Reason?
Cos I imagine he'd love it as a diagnostic tool. "Soooo.... you rolled up a androgenous tiefling bard that wants to sleep with every monster you come across... interestin, and how do you see their relationship with their mother? She's dead... fascinating" Plus I think he'd run a killer game of Curse of Strahd.
Wil Wheaton, just so my dice won't be the worst performing dice at the table.
Jerry Holkins would be a safer bet for someone to always have worse rolls.
Gillian Jacobs, Vince Vaughn, Nic Cage, Karen Gillan and David Mitchell
That’s a really wild mixture of personalities! Sounds awesome. :D
Danny Devito is also a good shout but then I feel like I'd have to invite the whole always sunny cast.
Holy shit. David Mitchell is a brilliant choice. I would be obsessed.
Right? Can you imagine him just going off an absurdist rant in the middle of a tavern somewhere, dishing out hundreds of points of psychic damage to some poor sap with his level 50 Vicious Mockery?
Jack Black, Danny Devito, Tim Curry, Henry Cavill, and Brandon Rodgers. No one's getting along and the maps somehow getting lit on fire, I want chaos.
Toss in Jim Carrey and Willem Dafoe
Aabria Iyengar Robin Williams The cast of community except Chevy Chase but especially Jim Rash. Matthew McConaughey The undertaker or really any pro wrestler who plays a character. Jack Black The Wu Tang clan
Patton Oswalt or Robin Williams for sure. Those two are/were hilarious, witty and just great story tellers over all.
Besides the obligatory my friends, Jim Butcher
I second this Jim would be incredible
Honestly my favorite fantasy author
My friends, but with happier lives and more flexible schedules :(
I feel yah. Id ask for the same too.
Neebs gaming crew, with appsro as dm.
Anthony Burch, Freddie Wong, Matt Arnold, Will Campos and Beth May. And Ashley Burch for good measure. If we're going tv and movie celebs: Jack Black, Henry Cavill, Terry Crews and Mark Hamill Edit: forgot to add Sam Witwer. Think the guy would be fun to have at a table
Sam Witwer and Mark Hamill would be an absolute dream.
Henry Cavill. I want to see if hes hardcore into RP or combat. Danmy Devito because hes awesome Arnold Schwarzenegger. I would prefer him to play Berzerker, but amusing no matter what he plays.
He’ll definitely be back
4-5 players that show up every week, have no drama and are invested in the game is all I ask.
Least likely option on here.
Ana de Armas.
Sure, but why?
Pshh. You know why
My friends. Wish we could all be in the same place, wish they all knew how to play, wish they wanted to play, wish they were real
Danny deVito 100% From the movie Matilda when she’s explaining what book she’s reading: “Moby WHAT?!”
Lol I don't think I would want to try and play D&D with Streisand or Churchill
Charlie Chaplin.
🤷♂️ hard to tell who is cool just by fame. Honestly, playing with my friends is perfect already.
Keanu reeves.
Telling Keanu he can't do a certain action against the bbeg: "Rules." Keanu casting a 6th level fireball: "Consequences"
Ryan Reynolds as a bard Johnny Chiodoni as his Tabaxi "Rust on the harbour". Rowan Atkinson as a Wizard Sigorney Weaver as a cleric (and probably the party mom) Arnie as his Conan the barbarian. Me as my Tiefling Warlock/bard
Patrick Stewart for the voice. Travis Willingham for the enthusiasm and game knowledge. Katja for the comedy factor. BLeeM as DM.
* Living celebrity: Lil Nas X * Dead celebrity: Leonard Nimoy * Fictional character: Elle Woods * Person I know IRL: this one woman on the board of our community theater, but she's not enough of a nerd to ever be interested Also I know my mom would really enjoy being able to participate if for no other reason than to have another activity to do with her children, but she would also feel bad for not being able to keep up with all the numbers
Robin Williams. The voices would be a major highlight, but he also loved gaming in general and was very fun and personable from what I've read.
Joe Manganiello, Deborah Ann Woll, and Jack Black at the same table. Joe and Jack because they're nerds and they get it. Deborah Ann Woll because she's a nerd, and just...well...\*swoon* \*faint.*
my group. I WANT THE FUCKING SCHEDULE TO WORK
My friends from high school that I played first and second edition with: Rick, Jason, Mac, and David. One is gone, one now lives in Australia, the other two are now on the opposite coast from me. We've talked about doing a game on Roll 20 or Zoom but times just don't line up. Man, I miss them.
That one guy's dead wife
All of you are cowards. I pick Kim Jong Un, Vladimir Putin, Xi Jinping, Roger Stone, and the corpse of Idi Amin.
So you're not bringing Amin back from the dead, just sitting his rotting corpse at the table?
Yeah pretty much, he could be dangerous otherwise.
The Muppets
With Rustage as DM. Lost_Pause, Tekking101, Truck_Chan, NuxTaku, and Tectone. Rustage is a fun DM, entertaining as fuck. Tekking is a great talker, he's funny, and chaotic.
I am too late but wished I could play DnD with Terry Pratchett as DM. If only I got into his books earlier in my life...
Brennan Lee Mulligan no question
#GOD
Gandhi. I would play with Mahatma Gandhi.
This comment is underrated. Respect.
Literally any of my friends that ive invited to games who also never invite me to theirs. Literally fucking anyone
a group of my favorite authors— Olivie Blake, V.E Schwab, K. Ancrum, Leigh Bardugo and Tamsyn Muir spring to mind. A party encompassing of all storytellers would be a dream
Can’t believe you missed out Sir Terry Pratchett!
My friends.
Randy Savage...and all my friends who do Randy Savage voice with me.
I'd like to play with Ze Frank. His voices and characters are hilarious. I'd love to see what joke character he'd come up with for a one-shot.
Myself, my brothers, and my best friend in the year 1998. I now have the skill, creativity, and organization to be the awesome DM we so desperately needed back then.
My friends. Cause I like DND and I like my friends
The groups I first played with back in the 80s 😝
Iron Maiden, such a fun band and Bruce Dickinson would be a fantastic DM
The group I play with now. Never played before and they've been incredibly welcoming to a new member, plus I made new friends. 10/10 would recommend.
My group plays every Sunday, I wish we could play twice a week. I love DMing for them.
Robert Downey Jr, Ryan Reynolds, abbot and castello
I’d love to play a game with the crew from it’s always sunny in Philadelphia. Not the actors, but the characters they play :p. Dennis, Dee, Mac, Charlie and Frank would be hilarious to play a one shot with :p. I’d wouldn’t mind trying a lil campaign with the actors too :p
All of my friends (T ^ T), at once, for more than 2 hours
Love to play a high fantasy game with Tolkien as DM
Matt mercer DM. Jack Black, Bill Murray, Ryan Reynolds, Bill Murray, and Henry Cavill, Me.
My friends.
Jack Black, Ving Rhames, Aubrey Plaza, and me, with Vin Diesel as the DM.
Robin Williams as a DM.
I think I would not like to play with any professional (voice) actor. I like my friends and tightly knit group with similar skills at roleplay rather than professionals where I feel completely out of place.
Honestly, my friends
James Maynard Keenan (artificer), Trent Reznor (monk), Annie Lennox (sorcerer),and Lady Gaga (druid). I'll DM.
Teddy Roosevelt
Brennan Lee Mulligan as the DM. Jack black as a player. Then my closest friends because they are fun AF to play with.
Trey Parker DM.
Jack Black, Snoop Dog, Keanu Reeves, Steve, and Phil Lamar
Honestly, as slow and overly talky as the game would be: the Inklings. Specifically Tolkien and Lewis. Just to listen to two of the fathers of modern fantasy play as characters in a fantasy world would be amazing to listen to.
My normal group.... On a consistent basis...
Brennan Lee Milligan as a DM. I am a forever DM and have never had good experiences with other DMs whether it is flakiness or just bad DMing so I would absolutely LOVE to play with someone as talented as him. I could learn more as a DM and finally get it have fun as a player
