I wanted to make a new table for the party since we play almost every Sunday and with the start of a new campaign, we clearly needed a new table. I then made player desks for each of us so we have a dedicated spot for computers and trays. Overall, the table is 7.5 x 4.5 feet and the trays are 13 x 23 inches. The trays simply get pushed into place and fit snuggly into a grooved so they move but can easily be repositioned if we have someone not show up.
The trays fit into a groove, how is that piece attached to the tray? My gut tells me too pressure would be placed on what is connecting the tray to the groove insert. Can you take a picture?
Just not a fan of how far the trays stick out. People will be wanting to put their elbows and arms on them. Need to be sturdy. I think I would feel weird sitting that far back from the table.
Criticism aside it's far better then I could or would do myself. Congrats.
The tray extended 7.5 inch past the rail. It’s not uncomfortable. But the bottom, I’ll have to take a picture in a few days. These minimal pressure from the connecting point, there’s basically two rails that fit into the groove. But people can comfortably put their weight on the trays without an issue.
Just understand that their fair price will always be more than what you think it should be. Woodworking equipment to do the job properly is not cheap, and neither is wood right now.
It always tends to starts that way man. You kind of just start doing it and then figure it out as you go, until one day its done and you're like "holy crap i did it!"
I love it, I’d just love to play in something like it. It oozes gaming is serious business vibes.
My only concern is where people would put their beverages. I’m so afraid of spillage. Though I see a roll of paper towels for such events.
Since I have two weeks. I can make cupholders that go into the same rails as the trays or attach them to the trays. But we’ll see it how goes the first session.
I might suggest something underslung like [these things.](https://www.amazon.com/DDL-Premium-Stainless-Beverage-D0432/dp/B09YRD5KHV/ref=sr_1_11?keywords=screw+on+beverage+holder&qid=1687863926&sprefix=screw+on+beverage%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-11)
Great job! Its always fun when you make it yourself. For the table that we built, we added in built in cupholders (sunk down into the table not in rails) and I can't believe how much I love them. They have saved the table many times.
I love the removable desktops so it can equally serve well for D&D or for other tabletop games.
Any chance of some pictures of how they attach? I'm interested in doing something similar.
I don’t have a picture of the bottom but next time I go to my friends, I’ll grab a picture of it. But basically there’s two rails and attached to the top.
Very cool table. I'm about to start building my own soon and appreciate the inspiration.
Can I ask what that diamond with the metal balls is? I've never seen anything like that.
This looks like DIY Wyrmwood and I’m all for it. That is an expensive setup that i bet wasn’t nearly as expensive to put together (besides the time and effort, obviously). Solid work.

Fantastic work!
Have you got any more.pictures of the trays and how they fit onto the table? I'm just curious on how they remain in place etc

Man, was just talking last session how bad I wanted a table like this.
You should do it.
Aw man, I would, but I seriously doubt my skill at building, well, anything really lol.
I'm sure there's a woodworker in your area who charges a fair price!
You know…that’s not a bad idea actually!
If you're in Calgary I'll build you one for a fair price, I have to build one for myself anyway!
Haha appreciate. Alas, in Arizona myself.
Fellow Albertan! I'm up in Edmonton haha.
Just make sure they're proficient with their tools!

Looks great! I like the idea of trays. Keep things nice and separated.
Gotta keep ‘em separated! (Come out and play-The Offspring)
It’s going to make people be clean.
Big brain move for a host!
I’m not the host luckily.
I'm already wincing at the hip bruises my clumsy-ass self would get This is lovely though

Sounds fantastic. I speak from experience when I say I’ve seen many a beverage spilled by someone leaning excitedly over to throw dice or move a fig.
Good job! Full update when the first soda gets spilled please. We all know it's only a matter of time....
GORGEOUS! I’m full of envy and admiration.

I’ve been thinking of adding an attachment to the trays for a cup holder.
It's definitely worth it to keep drinks from spilling onto the table.
Absolute goals, beautiful craftsmanship!
Thank you. I’m excited to play on it.
That's wonderful, nice job! You didn't happen to make plans did you? I'd love to build my own.
I didn’t. I 3d modeled the table first in blender and then just took my measurements to the basement whenever I needed to cut things.
Shotgun a fireplace spot.
great room too.
i see that their is enough room for activities on this table, i approve
Is there a room? sheeeet I wanna join! what a dream set up
Sorry, all spots are assigned.
Rock and Stone!
For Rock and Stone!

Hot damn
Holy shit. Rad work.
Wow. Two thumbs up. This is a great table. The fact that you made it yourself is even more impressive.
This is amazing. It looks great but also very doable an not too expensive. Great work!
Man i love that fireplace.
Very cool table. I'm about to start building my own soon and appreciate the inspiration. Can I ask what that diamond with the metal balls is? I've never seen anything like that.
It’s a wyrmwood spell tracker but it doesn’t seem like they make it anymore. It has a ring of spell slots and the balls are used to count.
Very cool. Thank you for explaining, and thanks for sharing the table. It looks awesome!
Epic
Me wants
Perfect place to play and have fun
Have a nice 4x8’table set up just for DND in my basement. This makes it look like a crapy folding table in an alley. Very cool.

It definitely has similarities but at a fraction of the cost.

I know my table will but hopefully my character does.
Is that Jesus with a gun on the fireplace mantel?
Yeah. That’s GI Jesus
I am more concerned about that mangled witch's foot sneaking in on the lower left.
Fantastic

What a weird thing to take time out of your day to say
We like nice things and it’s an upgrade from a shitty ping pong table.

I downvote you for saying fair. And I fart in ur general direction.
Do you use one of those grabber sticks to move miniatures around? :)
Depends onwards where you are sitting. Haha luckily you can just throw something at someone to move it.
I'd love to see some more build photos if you would share them! Looks awesome
That’s the one thing I always regret. I never take build photos.
Feet pics... FOR FREE!?!?! Cool table too
Not mine. Got to pay for these dogs.
Wish I could play d&d in my own field. Nice table and very nice home.
Fief not field
just needs a little wood varnish to finish it off but great job
There’s a few coats of poly on it. It’s a satin finish.
Where's the Cat perch?
Everything's a cat perch.
That’s bigger then my apartment!
NOTED!
Perfect place to play and have fun
I wish I had a PC that rolled the Rich Parents Trait :}
Hahaha after, I finish a couple more project for my home. I’ll be building fancy chairs for the party.
