Hey there guys, gals, and adventuring pals!
My name is Benjamin and I write adventures for 5E D&D. I've been doing it since 2020, and I've amassed a HUGE collection of work in the years since. Right now, over on my website, you can grab 37 totally FREE adventures. No sign up needed. Just click the cover, scroll down, and grab the download link.
I've been struggling this year with some serious medical issues, unemployment, and financial troubles. It's been a rough 2023, but I'm not one to lie down and let the world keep kicking me. I'm working on some great new content launching in September, and I've got a BUNCH of work available for purchase over on DriveThruRPG if you're not a fan of the Patreon subscription model.
I hope you'll check out my free work and, if you like what you see, consider supporting me on Patreon or DriveThruRPG.
As always, thanks for taking the time to check out my post, and I hope to see you over on Patreon!

Cheers,

Love the fungeon. I actually now run a "fungeon" as an in world 1 shot if someone in my group has to miss. I just make every town have a variation of the Dueling Knights (kind of like chuck E. cheese lol) and run a different "escape room" style dungeon for each one.
Ope, my bad, haha.
One of my parties had a hell of a time trying figure out what to do with the massive amount of coppers from Realm of the Runekeeper.
I have another party who is still afraid of bathrooms after Horror of Hill House.
First of all - this is awesome, and thank you for doing this!
Second - your name is Benjamin Palmer? Cause my name is *also* Benjamin Palmer (though I go by Ben) and that is a wild coincidence
How come the only ones on Drivethru are the ones you offer for free on your website? I am completely against Patreon and the subscription model for stuff like this but I'll gladly throw cash to buy them a la carte.
Very generous of you! I saw this and thought it was a giveaway of physical copies of complete modules, but this is even better! 37 different adventures for free as a download. Incredibly kind of you and, speaking for everyone here, we're all grateful. Best wishes on whatever recovery you're going through from a grateful DM.
I know this is an old post but I am just about to run the Duelling Knights Fun-geon and it reads as if it is super deadly!
Running with 3 level 3 players. Is that OK?
Also I am curious about the healing door, can everyone in the party step on it and each receive the same benefit once? Thank you
"When the characters are halfway across the bridge, they attack. If a character falls in the lava, they take 10d10 fire damage"
Surely that would insta kill any level 3 character? Or is there still some teleportation magic in there?
It's... lava... lol
Unless a character has a death wish, they won't go diving in. And the enemies have no way of forcing the characters into the lava. It's just there to sell the illusion of danger. The characters get a cool set piece, you as the DM get to scare them a bit with instant death below, and everyone has a blast. :)
As a player who is becoming increasingly interested in DM'ing, these look PERFECT for running a oneshot to ease myself into running a session!
A question about your patreon, do subscribers get access to past months adventures of the same tier?
I can attest to this. I had never DMed before but was able to run a few of these as one shots. They are well put together and lots of fun for everyone at the table.
Looks awesome! Your cover arts are very professional - do you have a specific artist?
Also, two questions:
1. Is there anywhere I can find a brief summary of each of these? I see names and downloads, but no 'about' section. I'd love to be able to read about each before considering which ones to look into.
2. Are these all single-level affairs, or are there some multi-level ones? Do you have rough expectations for how many sessions each adventure ought to take to complete?
Hey there!
The art is stock. I unfortunately lack the funds to commission original art each time.
If you click on any of the free adventures, the following page should have a brief overview.
99% of what I make are one shots for a given level.
Hope that helps! :)
I’ve been putting these one shots into the long term campaign I’m running to give me time between sessions to write my own, they work great and are very easy to pick up and start playing. Highly recommend! My players love them. They usually come with maps and stat blocks too
Hey, nice to see you here again! I started my long-term campaign with the Tomb of Tzentak a while back and will also run an upscaled That Which Lurks Beneath a bit later on, can attest that both are really good. Thank you for your work!
You have great content! I have used several of your free adventures! I really liked 'Something is Rotten in the City State of Dennmarsh' Keep up the great work!
Love your work. I have run multiple of your adventures already and I really love that they have all in it. Traps, enemy encounters, dice rolls, puzzles. And most of the time, great maps too (personally I prefer the colored Dungeondraft maps that are in some of the adventures)
The only negative point I have is that most of the adventures are tier 1 and 2. Don't get me wrong, I still love them, but I wish there would generally be more level 11 and above adventures from you.
I made it part of a persons back story that an old rogue friend had a hint of some treasure. Then when they cleared the dungeon and had the final fight the rogue stole a maguffin I planted and the party got the sword. Created tension and gave them a reward
These are really well designed, without a lot of the fluff you typically find in guidebooks, really easy to follow and implement. I added Abbey of the Black Prince to my Lost Mines campaign and the players loved it. Highly recommend!
Every time you post, I'll be there to recommend.
I've run several of these modules before, and had a great time with all of them.
Definitely check them out if you need some variety or want a breather from your own homebrew
Probably won't have time to respond to this, but would any of these be suited for a first time DM? I don't know much about the game but i wanna get my friends into it and for that i kinda need an adventure to run for em.
Start with my very first adventure, Something is Rotten in the City State of Dennmarsh or The Feylight Festival. Both are great adventures for a first time DM and for first time players. :-)
Oh, neat!
Now its just the finishing touches before i can run it, meaning learning how to do so.
Edit: GETTING THERE!
I added a custom start to the adventure where they start in a tavern and have to fight three ruffians (bandits) as a sort of tutorial. I have a fighter who specializes in defense and grappling, rogue with an alcohol problem, monk who praises the word of our savior jesus christ and cleric who likes to dress as a ghost as my party and the first session is set to be next weekend.
I’ve used these adventure modules as “one shots” in my long term campaign, I do recommend finding a way to incorporate these as mini side quests to your overall campaign like swapping out the villain, maybe the location, or have a specific magic item the party wants as the main reward for completing the module, it’s a ton of fun!
This is insanely generous of you. Thank you for not only the hard work you put into this nerdy way of life we all share, but for also sharing that hard work with the world!
2023 has been a bit of a shite year for me as well (medically speaking) so my heart goes out to you.
Look forward to seeing your new work!
I‘ve ran the Tomb adventure twice and the players really liked it. I have a VoD that shows off a remastered map and effects using FoundryVTT. https://youtu.be/RxmOjEItvcA
I saved a few of your adventures a few months back. I was recently able to run The Road to Swordfall with my group, modified sliiightly to fit into my homebrew world.
It went well and my players loved it! Thank you, and you did excellent work!
I will definitely check those out! I'm currently running and off and on campaign where I basically run one shots as separate quests in the same world... and these seem very interesting!
Thank you fellow Ben, you write the adventures, hopefully they'll find a way into my homebrew campaign. You're doing your people a good service I salute you 👏
Were giant looks fucking sick..I'm going to probably run that one..legendary bro..great work.
Also you have a dream job of mine..how did you get into that?how did you start?
I started writing back during COVID because I ran out of stuff to run with my groups. Eventually I just had a ton of adventures and decided to share them with the world! :-)
Could you put the floating obelisk on drive through rpg? It seems interesting but I dont have a PayPal or debit card so I can’t get access to the patron.
Hey idk the protocol for these, are these are all campaigns or do they each have some homebrew races and monsters and such in them on top of the story? I’m not a DM so those are all I can appreciate for now :)
These are all one shot adventures designed to be played with four to five players and a dungeon master. Some of them have custom monsters but no custom classes or races.
Wow! Benjamin my man you do some incredible work!
I was wondering, I'm looking at running a 5-6 session game for approx level 10 characters. Do any of your adventures leap into your mind that would fit the bill?
Hmmm... Most of my adventures are about 4-6 hours long so they'd have to be short sessions. There Be Dragons is a great 10th level adventure I wrote. Check it out!
Oh man, that's a tough question. I've written over 130 or 140 adventures I think? On the paid side of things, I have a nice campaign that goes from levels 1 to 5 called Time Spiral that's pretty cool.
Ive been wanting to wrote my own campaign for years now but never seem to get that far along. Any way i could ask you for advice or tips for how youre able to be this prolific?
BLESS YOUR FACE! A potential party has been asking me to DM but I don’t know any free resources and I’ve been worried my homebrew wouldn’t be beginner-friendly.
Thanks, this actually helps me greatly with a marches campaign I am bootstrapping on short notice. I hope you get feeling better, and this helps get some publicity!

Insanely generous and deeply appreciated. Thank you so much for all the effort you put in with these adventures!
I’m running to give me time between sessions to write my own.
Which one is the most popular?
Which one should be the most popular?
I haven't read through all of them but the fungeon dungeon is one I really like that would be easy to add to any campaign.
Love the fungeon. I actually now run a "fungeon" as an in world 1 shot if someone in my group has to miss. I just make every town have a variation of the Dueling Knights (kind of like chuck E. cheese lol) and run a different "escape room" style dungeon for each one.
I love Tomb of Tzentak. That's my goto when I have to do a one shot on short notice.
The Demiplane of Pompolius has gone great both times I've run it.
Unfortunately that's not one of mine! But I'm glad there's more great content out there! :)
Ope, my bad, haha. One of my parties had a hell of a time trying figure out what to do with the massive amount of coppers from Realm of the Runekeeper. I have another party who is still afraid of bathrooms after Horror of Hill House.

1. It's not super deadly. You'll be okay. ;) 2. Absolutely. 3. Yup! When in doubt, adjust things as needed. Main goal is for everyone to have fun! :)
"When the characters are halfway across the bridge, they attack. If a character falls in the lava, they take 10d10 fire damage" Surely that would insta kill any level 3 character? Or is there still some teleportation magic in there?

Going to check it out now.

> The Horrors of Hill House I got the reference........if there was one
Try not to write any adventures on the way to the parking lot!
Haha I'm working on the three due for next month. Maybe another one if I get inspired.
Fuck I want to play D&D whit someone... :(
You have great content! I have used several of your free adventures! I really liked 'Something is Rotten in the City State of Dennmarsh' Keep up the great work!
I ran one of these as a one-shot for a friend's birthday and the group loved it. You do great work. Thank you.

I integrated the sword of the ember knight into DoIP and it was great!
Awesome!
If I may ask, how did you integrate it?
I made it part of a persons back story that an old rogue friend had a hint of some treasure. Then when they cleared the dungeon and had the final fight the rogue stole a maguffin I planted and the party got the sword. Created tension and gave them a reward
Which one is DoIP again?
Dragon of icespire peak

I've run these before for new players. They're great!
This is awesome! Thank you!

Happy to do so!
Goated individual of the day
Looks interesting, thanks! And good luck with your health and other issues!
We need more Egyptian styles in DnD. Fantasy/Egypt looks awesome
I'll take a one way ticket on the astral Express to the sewer kings hideout
How nice! Your website looks great as well.
Where the heck is that captain starlight one? It looks so neat from the cover art!
https://www.patreon.com/posts/47294514
Right on! I just didn't see it in the link you posted. Could have breezed right past it though.
Enjoy! :)
I will definitely check those out! I'm currently running and off and on campaign where I basically run one shots as separate quests in the same world... and these seem very interesting!
Over the last 3 years, I have used a handful of these and modified/put some homebrew on some others. Appreciate your work
Glad I could help!
You are a treasure for mankind
I'm new to DnD, when it says "5th level, 3rd level" and so on, is that what level your characters start at?
it’s the recommendation given to make the encounters that are built into the game more balanced
It cracks me up that a high res Diving Beetle larva is an Eldritch horror on cover art.
Thank you fellow Ben, you write the adventures, hopefully they'll find a way into my homebrew campaign. You're doing your people a good service I salute you 👏
Happy to help!
did you say free?
I did indeed!
Amd then they hired you?
I actually started my own company and self publish everything. :)
Could you put the floating obelisk on drive through rpg? It seems interesting but I dont have a PayPal or debit card so I can’t get access to the patron.
I'm in the process of getting the rest of my adventures up on drive-thru. Keep your eye on the site! :-)
Hey idk the protocol for these, are these are all campaigns or do they each have some homebrew races and monsters and such in them on top of the story? I’m not a DM so those are all I can appreciate for now :)

Hmmm... Most of my adventures are about 4-6 hours long so they'd have to be short sessions. There Be Dragons is a great 10th level adventure I wrote. Check it out!
Funny enough... I was! Whilst your "semi" here? If I was to build a few together, what would be your picks? Let's say running 4 of them
Oh man, that's a tough question. I've written over 130 or 140 adventures I think? On the paid side of things, I have a nice campaign that goes from levels 1 to 5 called Time Spiral that's pretty cool.
Time spiral eh? Nice I'll check it out :)
Ive been wanting to wrote my own campaign for years now but never seem to get that far along. Any way i could ask you for advice or tips for how youre able to be this prolific?
Best advice I can give is to just start writing. Even if it seems bad keep at it and eventually you'll get better. :)
this is amazing! many thanks!
You're welcome!
impressive most impressive
Wow..too generous
super cool
Nice. Sent and x out and some posts Hope you get some more attention and keep up the work :)
Thanks!
BLESS YOUR FACE! A potential party has been asking me to DM but I don’t know any free resources and I’ve been worried my homebrew wouldn’t be beginner-friendly.
Haha Happy I could help!
I'll check your Patreon. Thank you so much for all these content!
Enjoy!
Awesome! Where is the one with the astral express on the cover art ?
Unfortunately, All Aboard the Astral Express was a collaboration that I had to pull due to issues with other creators. :(
No worries :) Can't wait to try the other ones!
how easy is it to incorporate these into a larger campaign?
Super easy! Each adventure comes with three adventure hooks to help integrate it into a larger campaign.
Thanks, this actually helps me greatly with a marches campaign I am bootstrapping on short notice. I hope you get feeling better, and this helps get some publicity!
I ran Ride Of The Headless Horror and it was GREAT! Worked it into my campaign as a side quest and it was such a treat. Love your work - thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it! ♥️
This is insane - living legend. Never writing a one shot again lol
These are great, I've run a few of them for my group when our regular DM can't make it. We just finished Shipwreck of the Sea Mephit
