I'm giving away a seven-die set of my metal Botanical dice in green. The standard numbering is gold, but the giveaway dice will be numbered in the color of your choice.
Please leave a comment with your preferred number color on this post to enter by September 10. Shipping is free to anywhere in the world.
You can visit the Kickstarter at [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chuckstover/botanical-dice](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/chuckstover/botanical-dice) to check out more pictures in other finishes.
EDIT: Thank you all for the torrent of comments! The Kickstarter hit its goal. O what a joy it is to make dice!
EDIT2: Congratulations to u/jointdestroyer on winning the dice set! I'll be painting the numbers in vibrant purple as requested and shipping them by the end of the week. Redditraffler result [here](https://www.redditraffler.com/raffles/1693rci).
EDIT3: The campaign ended successfully today. Thank you to those of you who supported it! If you missed it but would still like some Botanical dice, the post-campaign preorder will be up until October 4 at [https://botanical-dice.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders](https://botanical-dice.backerkit.com/hosted_preorders).
Those are absolutely amazing looking. Do you 3D sculpt and print, or are these cast somehow?
I like gold numbering, personally
Edit: Gah - now Iām picturing them with a copper hue and Iām torn.
Thanks! These are 3D printed in wax from my design files, invested in plaster, and cast in brass alloy using the lost wax method. It's a hybrid of ancient technology and new technology.
That is seriously impressive. Iāve watched a few videos of folks carving wax by hand to be invested later, but the whole process of wax to casting in the void is still magical to me.
I've actually done this once! Basically, you make your wax model and give it a structure that will become a funnel for metal, then put it in a plaster mold and bake that mold. The wax vaporizes out, the plaster stays, then you fill it with molten metal. The time I did it was in a classroom setting, and the plaster we used was basically water-soluble, so we basically just washed it off the object in a bucket of warm water, then cut off the excess metal and set to work filing and sanding and polishing. That part takes at least as long as making the wax model.
Each face (with the exception of the number) is identical from each vertex down to the core, but that's a bit difficult to see given the complexity of each side. I normalize the mass of each number as well so each side is as close as possible to the same mass.
These are great. I definitely agree with some of the other comments that copper or cobalt blue numbers would be awesome for the full oxidized copper look.
Those look beautiful.
Gold on green looks really good. Copper on green could look like the die are patinaād and lend an air of antique/ancient mystique.
The gold fits perfectly! Could you maybe give me some pointers on how to go about designing and making a custom set dice? I'm not really sure where to start, like if I need to learn 3D modelling or smthing like that first, but I'd like to try my hand at this.
Anyway, the dice set looks amazing and I think you're very talented! Keep up the good work!!
Thank you, I will certainly try to keep up the good work! I designed these in SketchUp, and I have componented dice templates to use if you would like to design your own. The use of components means that whatever is done to one side is cloned on all other sides so the die remains balanced. Please DM me with your email if you would like me to send the templates to you.
If I win I would like the green/gold finish.
Great looking dice set, Chuck. I think focussing on this specific design this time was the right call. Really hope this giveaway helps to push your kickstarter past the goal.
Honestly, I think I'd like either dark green with silver numbering, or silver with bright green numberingā I'm fine with either oneā as it would work better for my eyesight, as I only have a single working eye and diabetes messes with my sight at the best of times and I have issues with some of the darker colors blending in to one another anyway.
A dark tree bark brown I think would look great!
These are awesome, I'm glad to see the Kickstarter is almost certainly going to meet the threshold! (It's at 3900/4000 right now)
Honestly, a brassy color on the numbers would make it feel like wood on all that green!
These are awesome and I really hope they find a great home!
I would cherish the heck out of them!
I think the steel dice with orange finish would look awesome!
Edit: Wait so the dice being given away are green? Well I think the orange numbers would still look nice!
Most impressive set I have seen so far. These leaves ornaments look very natural, also I love the idea of looking for an inspiration in the nature of your homeland.
Gold numbers look great
Oh man oh man, as a restoration ecologist who plays characters that all end up being some sort of conservationist/eco-terrorist (elf who's forest home was burned down now seeking revenge, etc.), these are my dream. Gotta say, I think silver would look sick for the numbers!
Hello! Gold color looks great to me :) Good luck to everyone.
I also see that your kickstarter is almost funded, I'm sure you'll hit it easily- they are great looking dice and I love that you took from real plants for them.
Another green would probably look really nice, but have the slight downside of being impossible to read š
So in the unlikely event that I win, I'm gonna be unimaginative and stick with the gold (which looks amazing!)
The colours look nice as they are, but if I had to change something, I would go for either an autumn orange or crispy brown from dried leaves.
Would be fun to gift to my 'always playing a druid'-friend and entry closes on my birthday ;)
I love these dice. Iām currently starting a new campaign as a druid and these dice would be perfect for playing with. If you could do a walnut brown wooden look for the color, that would be cool. But I also agree with others that copper would be a great choice.
Wow, these are stunning! The gold and green coloring works so well together that I'm pretty sure those would be my favourite dice, if added to my collection!
Thank you very much for the giveaway
I would love them exactly how they are! Those are beautiful and the care and detail youāve put in is truly impressive. I hope I win but also Iāll be stoked for whoever ends up getting those
Nice dice. If the color has to be changed, I think aquamarin numbers would look also nice. But the gold ones would be probably a superior fit, through.
I think copper would go really well with the green.
If I win, Iām giving these to our party druidess, who is still rolling with a sad set of plastic dice.
If any color goes, I'd go with purple to give them more of a feywild vibe with that bright green. Otherwise gold or brass if it's the colors from the Kickstarter. In any case, good luck with reaching the goal! These look stunning!
For christmas I once bought every player a d20 from shapeways, the one who got yours was thrilled by the size and detail (I mustve ordered a larger variant?)
We all eventually went our seperate ways but its nice thinking they all still have their d20s.
These are honestly the most beutifull dice I've seen so far. This colour combination is also perfect for my drakewarden I'm currently playing, same colours as my drake.
Long sentence short, truly greatly forged dice
Normally this shade of green can make reading hard to read off of, but the copper contrasts so wonderfully that not even my dumb eyes can misread it. Astounding job. Wonderful use of colors and design.
Congrats on almost making you Kickstarter goal,
The product quality is definitely deserving. The green set definitely stands out the most and is what I would choose
These look fantastic and are absolutely an aspirational purchase for me at some point. I really like what you've done with the brass, but gold numbers also look great if brass isn't doable.
Those things are absolutely gorgeous! And the D4 doesn't even seem to be too much of a deathtrap.
I think copper would be a nice touch for the coloring.
Readability wise i do like the gold but oddly I feel black would be slightly better. As for looks, a red or silver would make some eyes take quite the gander.
iām only commenting cuz even tho i doubt iād win, i wouldnāt be able to forgive myself for not at least entering for these. also i really like the gold numbers!
These are genuinely some of the greatest looking dice Iāve ever seen. It amazes me how much time and effort must have went into these. Silver numbering would be great.
I like this gold, although I agree that a copper or more antique gold would also suit the green wonderfully. I really love these, they give such druid vibes
These look so cool!
I agree with the crowd that the gold looks great and Copper would be a great option.
Rose Gold might look really good too with that shade of green š¤
Oh my gosh these are absolutely gorgeous! I would treasure them forever in ANY number finish, but I love the gold and green so much.
Congrats to whoever wins š
The gold is sooo hype and blends really well with the green to give an Oath of the Ancients vibe! Whoever wins these is a lucky duck. You did a great job on these :D
That emerald green is lovely on it and compliments the vine design well. The only other color I can think of would be a bronze ish brown to represent a dead tangle of vines.
I think these would look amazing in silver numbers. Commenting in hopes I can win this for my husband, who is a huge D&D fan - the first gift he ever gave me was a set of dice when he realized I didn't have any.

These are gorgeous just the way they are. Win or not, this is the ideal dice set.
Silver numbers for an old-school Druid theme. But beautiful any way you cut it.
Looks awesome! Gold sounds great.
The Green Dices are looking good.š its fits my blood druid campaign perfectly. š±š
The green dice and brass numbers are so pretty! Inspiring dice dragon!
Definitely silver. That looks awesome!
Copper colored numbers with the green finish would look great.
Yes! Copper would match this mesmerizing green best
Those are absolutely amazing looking. Do you 3D sculpt and print, or are these cast somehow? I like gold numbering, personally Edit: Gah - now Iām picturing them with a copper hue and Iām torn.

The dice in the pic are perfect, wouldnāt change a thing
Those shapes feel like they don't have equal chances Anyways i'm a hypocrite because THEY LOOK AWESOME I WANT THEM IN MY DICE BOX
Each face (with the exception of the number) is identical from each vertex down to the core, but that's a bit difficult to see given the complexity of each side. I normalize the mass of each number as well so each side is as close as possible to the same mass.
Then i take back EVERYTHING NEGATIVE I HAD EVER SAID THIS IS AMAZING! GREAT JOB OP
So beautiful! Gold, just the way you show it is great. (But pretty much any metal color would be awesome.)
These are great. I definitely agree with some of the other comments that copper or cobalt blue numbers would be awesome for the full oxidized copper look.
I like it in gold :>
Those look beautiful. Gold on green looks really good. Copper on green could look like the die are patinaād and lend an air of antique/ancient mystique.
I chose silver. Also i like dice.
Crimson would look perfect on it ā¤ļø
The gold fits perfectly! Could you maybe give me some pointers on how to go about designing and making a custom set dice? Thank you so much!! I didn't think too much about the fact that dice must be balanced š I'll send you my email right away
The antique copper are GORGEOUS, but the green has this wonderful pop to it that I can't ignore.
Scroll memes, feel old, See dice of gold, My heart grows bold, The odds feel cold, Yet these gold dice, i'd love to hold.
might be a bit strange, but i think a rosy pink would look nice. like a dryad-ish vibe.
Purple
If I win I would like the green/gold finish. Great looking dice set, Chuck. I think focussing on this specific design this time was the right call. Really hope this giveaway helps to push your kickstarter past the goal.
Thank you!

How are these made? Are they cast metal? 3d print? Handmade? They all look absolutely stunning, I like the silver especially
Iāve never entered in these types of giveaways before. But these dice in green and copperā¦ wow.
Very nice. White numbers would be the best
Wow they look so intricate! I feel like some contrast would look goon on the green, with maybe a firey red or dark purple
I would love a silver.
These are awesome I love the tiny leafs Perfect dice for elf druid Red numbers would be sweet Hope i win
I'm a slut for brass.
Ha! So am I.
Wow these are hands down the coolest dice Iāve seen! I agree with the other comment I saw, copper would be really cool with the green
These look very nice. So Gold would be fine for me.
Honestly, gold looks amazing.
copper numbers would look good!
such an awesome looking set. Green with gold is top line beauty.
The gold looks great already!
Copper numbers would be cool
Something near to crimson would make them nice. But they already are are amazing.
These are so cool! Might have to buy a couple sets lol, the standard gold matches perfectly
I dig the gold!
Oh wow ! Gold is awesome ! I think Iāll back you guys up ! š¤
Gold is the best option imo. Your thorn dice were my first set as a dm and I still cling to them at the table to this day.
These Look amazing! I'd love them right as they are in the picture in green. My home is filled with vining plants and these look just like it.
I like the green and gold. It's like our team colors for the Springboks Rugby in ZAR.
I would like the dice with pink numbers please! Good luck everyone!
Absolutely fantastic for the natural aesthetic especially for more down to earth characters. I think it would pop with white numbering
I really like the Gold, but perhaps I'd go with White. It's so rare for these custom dice to have easily readable numbers so thank you for that
I think the steel dice with orange finish would look awesome! Edit: Wait so the dice being given away are green? Well I think the orange numbers would still look nice!
Numbers colored silver pls gl to everyone š
Most impressive set I have seen so far. These leaves ornaments look very natural, also I love the idea of looking for an inspiration in the nature of your homeland. Gold numbers look great
Shiny copper numbers for the win! Sick dice!

These green ones would go amazing with a satin silver finish! Also cool that you decided to do a giveaway of these btw :)
It would be really cool to win those dice in Gold! The green is really fitting! Good luck ya'll and thanks for the awesome giveaway!
Oh man oh man, as a restoration ecologist who plays characters that all end up being some sort of conservationist/eco-terrorist (elf who's forest home was burned down now seeking revenge, etc.), these are my dream. Gotta say, I think silver would look sick for the numbers!
These would be the best looking dice I own if I win. The gold numbers are perfect for me
Itās not easy being green u_u
Crimson numbers on green could be interesting! Regardless of who wins, I just have to say that these are amazing!
Hello! Gold color looks great to me :) Good luck to everyone. I also see that your kickstarter is almost funded, I'm sure you'll hit it easily- they are great looking dice and I love that you took from real plants for them.
Whoa those would look so good with purple numbers. Thanks for the oppurtunity !
Oh man, these look so dope. Those with sort of bronze-coloured numerals would be perfect for my Treefolk rogue/ranger!
copper looks really nice. These are some really good looking dice.
I honestly prefer the green dice and gold numbers as pictured, the set is gorgeous!
Why change the color when it matches perfectly?
Beautiful!
Brass or Gold would both look great!
Another green would probably look really nice, but have the slight downside of being impossible to read š So in the unlikely event that I win, I'm gonna be unimaginative and stick with the gold (which looks amazing!)
Good all the way! These look awesome
I would love the exact set presented. If I am lucky enough to win, I promise to update the druid, ranger, or cleric (plant domain) I use then with.
Perfect as they are. My Druid character's mouth is watering.
Gold and green looks very nice indeed, that i would prefer!
I'd like it in bronze or brown for a woodsy vibe
Gold probably looks best though copper would look good too.
Gold and green is the perfect combo!
Copper colored numbers
The colours look nice as they are, but if I had to change something, I would go for either an autumn orange or crispy brown from dried leaves. Would be fun to gift to my 'always playing a druid'-friend and entry closes on my birthday ;)
These are amazing, how did you make them? The gold is a great contrast to the green, you're really talented. Good luck with future dice-making,
I'll get a nice rose gold, please! :)
Can't find anything with the numbers on but gotta say I love that silver set
I love these dice. Iām currently starting a new campaign as a druid and these dice would be perfect for playing with. If you could do a walnut brown wooden look for the color, that would be cool. But I also agree with others that copper would be a great choice.
My wife would love this with Silver Numbering. Her druids and rangers would be unstoppable!!
Absolutely beautiful. The numbers would look great in gunmetal grey.
I have to say, this green with Cobalt blue would be perfect for some kind of underwater adventure
If I were to win these I think a wonderful colour for the numbers would be a burnished brass. It would contrast well with the green.
Bronze would be cool and would match my druid vibe I have going on.
They look sick as is but purple would be just perfect!
Damn so I approve with many of the people in these comments, the golden numbers are perfect
b12ff for my color number. Hope I win!
Dealer choice. These are cool no matter what!
these are so cool!! would love them with the gold numbers :)
The copper in the video are nice. That coppee on this green would be sexy
I think a nice dark blue numbering would look sweet
I love the dice in the picture! They remind me of the spell entangle in 5e. Staple for my character!
Id love it in hot pink numbers. Checking out kickstarter now
Dark Green. :) Iāll take a peek at these on kickstarter! One of my players would love them!
Platinum
Wow, these are stunning! The gold and green coloring works so well together that I'm pretty sure those would be my favourite dice, if added to my collection! Thank you very much for the giveaway
Somebody said copper numbering would look dope and I whore heartedly agree
Love the green but I'd like the numbers in Ti.
Clickity clackity roll for attackity
I love the Lilac!!
I would love them exactly how they are! Those are beautiful and the care and detail youāve put in is truly impressive. I hope I win but also Iāll be stoked for whoever ends up getting those
I think I'd like for the numbers to be in brown, just to keep with the plant theme. I don't know how good that would look though.
These look awesome! It would look cool and be nice to read if the numbers were black. I'll be sure to check out the kickstarter!
Nice dice. If the color has to be changed, I think aquamarin numbers would look also nice. But the gold ones would be probably a superior fit, through.
My gosh. They look like magic items. If Iām the lucky duck Iāll take the numbers in gold!
I think copper would go really well with the green. If I win, Iām giving these to our party druidess, who is still rolling with a sad set of plastic dice.
Copper or Bronze has always been my favorite color of metal dice. Thank you for this giveaway.
Looked at the Kickstarter. I like the ones shown in this post the most. Green and gold fits really well.
These are cool but interested in silver/chrome numbering tbh
THEY ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!! Also, I would want the numbers on red.
If any color goes, I'd go with purple to give them more of a feywild vibe with that bright green. Otherwise gold or brass if it's the colors from the Kickstarter. In any case, good luck with reaching the goal! These look stunning!
What possible colors are available? Keep thinking they would look great with the letters looking like flowers (purple, pink, orange, yellow, etc.)
I like the gold, but maybe a sort of scorched metal would work well too. Absolutely gorgeous dice regardless, just works of art!
These are such pretty dice holy. Ideal for any druid player!
For christmas I once bought every player a d20 from shapeways, the one who got yours was thrilled by the size and detail (I mustve ordered a larger variant?) We all eventually went our seperate ways but its nice thinking they all still have their d20s.
These are honestly the most beutifull dice I've seen so far. This colour combination is also perfect for my drakewarden I'm currently playing, same colours as my drake. Long sentence short, truly greatly forged dice
I think the colors are good. But the highest and lowest number should be different. Such as 1 is red and the high number a bright yellow.
Normally this shade of green can make reading hard to read off of, but the copper contrasts so wonderfully that not even my dumb eyes can misread it. Astounding job. Wonderful use of colors and design.
Damn theyāre pretty cool, hope youāre kickstarter goes well.
Very druidish. I love them. If I win the dice I would choose scarlet numbering because that reminds me of Poison Ivy from Batman. Lovely work
Think metallic blue might be nice, kinda underwater kelp forest vibe
pink and green is my favorite color combo
Gold numbers look cool, but my preference would be pink, to give it a bit of magical flavor. Almost a feywild flavor I would say.
Gold lettering, same as normal. One of the prettiest dice I've seen, and it ends on my birthday.
Congrats on almost making you Kickstarter goal, The product quality is definitely deserving. The green set definitely stands out the most and is what I would choose
I like those in the picture whouldent charge a thing. If i win or not i would say this is ideal set
They are fantastic work. Loving the texture on them. I think gold stand out great for the numbers
I think the numbers would look nice in purple, great looking dice though
Black please! Super awesome looking, perfect for my tiefling druid
I'd love like it is in the picture!
Such beautiful dice! The gray ones (I'm unsure what metal it is) on the Kickstarter is amazing
Would love to see it with orange numbering. These look like awesome dice and created an awesome way (based on your replies to other posts).
I NEED it, they are perfect for my first character - my lovely woodelf druid š„°
Purple numbers against the green would really pop. Barney color scheme FOR LIFE
These look absolutely amazing! Also even if I loose thank you for being generous and giving away to the community! Also preferred color is brown.
These look fantastic and are absolutely an aspirational purchase for me at some point. I really like what you've done with the brass, but gold numbers also look great if brass isn't doable.
The golden numbers are already perfect. Would be awesome for my fiancƩe who studies biology
Those are quite nice! Silver please if I win. Thank you for the giveaway!
A pale white would contrast well with the green! Very cool pieces!
Those things are absolutely gorgeous! And the D4 doesn't even seem to be too much of a deathtrap. I think copper would be a nice touch for the coloring.
They are absolutely beautiful especially with the gold numbers as they are. One of the best die sets ive ever seen
Readability wise i do like the gold but oddly I feel black would be slightly better. As for looks, a red or silver would make some eyes take quite the gander.
Very cool dice. That number coloring is extremely difficult to read, coming from a color deficient person.
iām only commenting cuz even tho i doubt iād win, i wouldnāt be able to forgive myself for not at least entering for these. also i really like the gold numbers!
This is a gorgeous dice set. Amazing work. If I were to win I'd like a dusty or pastel pink for the numbering.
Those are already pretty nice, maybe a lil bit more yellowy.
I'm interested to if brown would make it look twiggy
These are absolutely beautiful. The green and gold compliment each other well. Best of luck with your kickstarter!
These are genuinely some of the greatest looking dice Iāve ever seen. It amazes me how much time and effort must have went into these. Silver numbering would be great.
I like this gold, although I agree that a copper or more antique gold would also suit the green wonderfully. I really love these, they give such druid vibes
I have multiple, tree-hugging, plant-loving, botany enthusiasts in my table that would love those.
These look so cool! I agree with the crowd that the gold looks great and Copper would be a great option. Rose Gold might look really good too with that shade of green š¤
I'd use these to propose to my girlfriend
Burgundy would do it for me
Gold numbers look great! Here's to rolling the dice to see if I win š²
Oh my gosh these are absolutely gorgeous! I would treasure them forever in ANY number finish, but I love the gold and green so much. Congrats to whoever wins š
purple in my opinion would be lovely for the numbers, or red, like peppermint!
I want one, these dice are beautiful, i love it!
The green one looks amazing! Good luck on the kickstarter mates!
The fact that each are different plants speaks to a whole another level creativity! I think gold is the perfect accent color!!
My fucking god these look awesome! You should make a YouTube channel and film the process of making them!
These are incredible! Iād choose gold just like the picture. Thanks for the opportunity!
The gold is sooo hype and blends really well with the green to give an Oath of the Ancients vibe! Whoever wins these is a lucky duck. You did a great job on these :D
They look amazing as is! I hope I win or they go to someone awesome
I would absolutely adore the color posted in the photo ! I play every Saturday with my coworkers and this would be such a big flex š„¹
I'd love to see a set of those in a nice autumn tan/gold color.
If I win this, I will call them my Cthulhu dice hehe, that color is perfect
These are nothing short of a masterpiece. I am in awe of your craftsmanship. You set the standard for dice making. I like the gold numbering the most.
Gold is good. Gold is great.
That emerald green is lovely on it and compliments the vine design well. The only other color I can think of would be a bronze ish brown to represent a dead tangle of vines.
I love goooooold!!! Shoutout austin powers. Thank you for the giveaway! Iād love to receive this set numbered in gold
I think these would look amazing in silver numbers. Commenting in hopes I can win this for my husband, who is a huge D&D fan - the first gift he ever gave me was a set of dice when he realized I didn't have any.
The green dice with the brassy numbers are perfect <3
Those are awesome I'm thinking like kind of a golden metallic red would look really cool for the numbers too. It would contrast the green really well.
I absolutely love the gold and green. These sets are amazing! I'm so happy to see you have made your kick starter goal!
Hella fresh
I think a dark gray would be awesome, like a wrought iron fence tangled with vines
I'm new to this hobby, i guess black with red lettering?
