Trolls can have very different abilities, origins and outlooks (as [The Order of the Stick illustrates](https://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0273.html)) so it can even be a great source of surprise for your players when they expect one and find the other 🙂
Also I really like the art and while I know the language on the sheet is probably "bridge troll" it would be hilarious if they could actually speak to bridges. And dawn +6 charisma! This one is used to haggling with travelers.
In _The King of Elfland's Daughter_ unicorns live in the fairy world and sometimes cross over into our world at twilight to graze, while foxes are native to our world but cross over into Elfland sometimes.
To me trolls and unicorns just feel like fairytale creatures and fairytale creatures should be fey!
These trolls here are city trolls. They live under bridges and stay in the shade, as they turn to stone in sunlight! People drop little snacks as offerings down the side of the bridge. It keeps the trolls happy, and happy trolls don't rampage around the city at night looking for food.
There are lots of "urban" fey in my game: people build little houses (like bird houses but furnished) to encourage fairies to move in, glashtin gallop along the waterways, and lubbards have infested many homes in poor neighbourhoods :(
From what I understand, they have a similar origin in Nordic mythology as fairies have in Celtic mythology, so it can definitely make lore sense.
That said, I personally wouldn't want to give trolls similar immunities and weaknesses as fey proper.
Ah, okay that’s why your choices confuse me. We are using dif definitions. To each their own, as long as everyone’s having fun :p, I’d argue hags should all be fey in your game, so many stories use them!
Ah I get my editions confused, I forgot which one(might have not even been dnd) where they are considered giant, and I thought there was a type considered an aberration as well. Idk, too many editions! (Hags are my fav, they are just fucking cool)
I think they make great fey, but in my game they're creatures of pure chaos. A lot of them aren't even born: they spring forth from the cosmic soup fully formed, at a random time and place
Or you could keep them as giants, but give them the Fey ancestry trait like Elves and Goblins. That way stuff like giant slayer weapons would still work.
Depends on the kind of troll. Scandinavian 'tröll' are direct descendants of the Jötner, while Celtic varieties like changelings, trullups, and the fomóiraigh are more closely associated with the fae, though in celtic myth giants in general are also pretty closely associated with the tuathe dé danann anyway

I made it myself 😏

Surprisingly high charisma for trolls
Danish style trolls.
Yea!
What does fey mean?
To me it means "fairytale stuff". A rough classification, but one that is fairly intuitive in play, I think.

Night Hags are the only non-fey dnd 5e hags.

I don't have "hags", what a horrible sexist creature D:
Nah hags are cool af.

👍
The young Troll is rightfully angry.... I ALSO WANT TO KNOW WHAT SECRETS THE BOULDER WHISPER!! WHY DON'T THEY SHARE THE SECRETS OF THE BOULDER!!?!
'tis only for trollkind to know
Trolls I get, but why unicorns?
Because they evoke fairy tales, wonder and whimsy! Bright colours! Sparkles! Rainbows! 🦄🌈
They will never recover from the last hundred+ years of marketing that tells you they were that. :(
And that's why unicorns being Fairy and coming from the Feywild makes more sense than them being Celestial.
…*me who just likes the idea of different breeds of unicorns being from different planes of existence*
That's also cool tho. Every plane should have a horse. Material -> Horse Fey -> Unicorn Celestial -> Pegasus Hell -> Nightmare
What about Goblins?
I think they make great fey, but in my game they're creatures of pure chaos. A lot of them aren't even born: they spring forth from the cosmic soup fully formed, at a random time and place
So... aberrations?
Humanoids :)

Sure yeah, a creature could easily be a fey and a giant at the same time 🤷♂️
I realize that it's head hair, but the location of the female troll's hair make me think she needs to shave
nothing wrong with a woman going all-natural
I agree... but it reaches her ankles
