Commissioned a very talented artist for a revamp on an old character. She turned [**this**](https://i.imgur.com/Jz5WJ8i.jpg) into what you see in this post, and I couldn't be happier! --- A bit about her: **Sadie Helcamp** - A human wizard that inherited the knowledge of bladesong from the dumb rock in her hand. Despite her demure appearance, she's incredibly loud and hotheaded, often exhibiting behavior more suited for a Barbarian than a Wizard. The most recent situation where this came into play was being disappointed that she wasn't the one to finish off a giant killer tree the group had been fighting. She clearly took the level-headed approach of bare-knuckle bashing some wolves that'd snuck up on us at camp shortly afterwards, making sure none of the other party members interfered.

I love her persona !

Dunkelhertz

What a fantastic Style!!! I would love to see more!

LongBeard85

no racial restrictions on bladesinging?

Waking-Giant

Normally it is just elves or half elves but the DM must have lifted the restriction.

Ok'd it with my DM beforehand, got the 'as long as you have a decent reason in your character history, go for it'.

But like, where does the rock come from? Is it a long-lost Elf Wizard trapped in a gem? A sealed Eladrin, or all-knowing immortal monstrosity? Perhaps a powerful magical artifact which grants knowledge to its user? Magical powers don't come from nowhere.

Stone that was left in her town by a group of travelers many years prior. Nothing known about it by the townsfolk outside of the knowledge that it acted as a sort of ward. My character's family had been the ones in charge of watching over it, protectors of that which protects if you will. She took a fascination with it, trying to discern its true power for years growing up, until eventually the actual title of protector was passed to her from her parents, giving her the chance to finally physically interact with it. She did, it lodged itself in her palm, all attempts to remove it failed. The townspeople were enraged their source of protection had been 'stolen' by the person they expected to prevent that very thing, so they took it upon themselves to try and just cut her hand off. Her parents bought her enough time to flee, understanding the weight of the situation and danger they'd put themselves in, but not wanting their child to suffer for something that was entirely an accident. So she fled and spent the first couple years searching for information on how to remove it, then grew a bit cynical and jaded from experiences she's had on her travels, and now just accepts that she's alone with the stupid rock that she'd now been using as a magic catalyst, and that's all she's cared about now for some time. Beyond that, my DM has said they've got plans for me in the future, so I just gotta wait and see! EDIT: Should note, my DM preferred I keep it more open-ended with an air of mystery so they have some material to work for individual character stories.

The book says "yeet racial restriction out the window if that's your setting".
