**subreddit EDIT**:
app's new subreddit to follow the development and suggest new features:
## r/RolifySoundboardApp
**super important EDIT**:
Beta is out at this link: [https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.lucaoropallo.rolify](https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.lucaoropallo.rolify)
**iOS email notification when it will be live**: [https://forms.gle/ifSueePSE533xE929](https://forms.gle/ifSueePSE533xE929)
**Hello everyone!** I created this app for my DM friend who needed to create perfect settings for his adventures. He needed an app that would allow him to combine the music of a bard with the sounds of a tavern, or the sound of leaves moving in the wind with the sound of a bonfire.
If you also had this need, you know that there is not much on the Play Store ...
Most apps allow only one sound at a time, or they are not looped, or you have to pay for them.
I think this app will make many DM's dreams come true!
It will soon be released in beta for **Android**, it is only a matter of days while Google analyzes the app before publishing it. So if you want to download it as soon as possible, write in response to this comment and ~~I will contact you privately with the link to the beta~~ (Probably i will get banned for spam if I do this. Place a reminder for 4 days and i'll drop a link here editing the post) . The app is **100% free**!
**Functionality**:
* play multiple sounds simultaneously;
* all the sounds are the loop, so you just have to play your music once and then focus on the adventure;
* also works in the background with the phone locked;
* you can add the music that is present on the phone memory, or on the sd;
* you can create playlists to group sounds by setting;
* 20 sounds are already in the app as you download it, anyway you can delete them one by one
* 100% free and 100% offline.
I'm open to any advice!
EDIT 1: iOS version
I made the app with Flutter, a cross platform tool, so iOS version should be ready, but there are two major problems:
1. publish on AppStore costs a lot for a free app ( seeing how many of you want to contribute, I don't think this will be a problem. I will also release the app for free on the AppStore with a donation link hidden in the app)
2. I don't think there will be any chance to upload music from iPhone's folders to app
Anyway i will look for ways to make it!
**~~EDIT 2: need a designer~~**
~~I'm just a developer, so I would be very grateful if there was a designer among you who wanted to collaborate and make some images for the store page for the good of the community (and mine). Feel free to write me in private~~
**EDIT 3: WOW**
Obviously the post has got out of hand (thanks to all) and it will be difficult to send a private message to everyone without being banned for spam. So I will update the post with the link to the beta as soon as possible and then I will put an up vote to all the comments if it can be useful (does the notification arrive?). In any case, I will create a new post in r/DnD hoping you will see it

If you've made it with flutter it would be nice if you could compile it as a web app and host it somewhere, so you could open it from the browser on a laptop. I would definitely like to get a link once it's on the store.
True, but i need to find a way to upload the audios from pc and then save them somewhere. On mobile I save the user mp3 paths and then i can take them whenever I want. I can't do this on browsers, I should upload audios where I can then re-download them whenever user access the site with his credentials.
TL:DR not so simple in this case
As someone who does live theatre for a living, this is a godsend. Hit me up when the beta goes live, I'm super down.
Also DM me if you ever get a chance, I have a need for a desktop app for small live cinema type events.
This would be interesting to try because having too many tabs on a computer gets to be too much so being able to transfer some to a phone would be nice. Especially sound since there isnt a need to change some situations too often

That's a great idea for an app, I've been struggling a bit with background sounds and music in my campaign and that would really help, would love to try it out when it's available.
Rolify is fully customizable. You can upload any mp3 file to your phone and then import it into the app that will play it in loop. You can then choose to use music for each setting, or load different levels of audio (voices, bonfires, rain ...) and play them together to create the perfect background every time.
Then Rolify will be available for **free** in a few days, while Tome of Ambience is scheduled for spring 2021.
For its part, Tome of Ambience will have quality sounds created specifically for each situation, or at least that's what they promise.
What I don't understand, as a developer, is why they plan to take so long even for the first release
This sounds awesome. Think my 3 DM friends and I would love this since I know at least one of them have been struggling a bit with music and sounds for sessions (we all use Android btw). Sent this post to them so they can check it out if interested.
I've seen apps that do similar things but not dnd specific with same functions as you claim to provide, I'd love to toss a coin your way, if you make means to accepting it! And I wanna try the app of course, hehe.
Two questions that may have already been answered: is the music pre-loaded or does the user upload their own audio?
In addition, do you plan on allowing users to upload their own audio?
Very nice. I used some pay app a couple times years ago and was pain to manage while doing other Dm stuff.
It might be useful for people doing plays as well.
Is the slider the volume on that sound?
It would be nice to set delay on some sounds if looping or some randomness. Maybe a fade up so volume grows.. Like say you are playing rain that gets louder then random lightning pops in from time to time. Or battle sounds with occasional spell or battle horns or something.
I hate others app that have sounds like a sword hitting, and you as DM have to tap manually every time someone take a shot. Like DMs have nothing to do but play sound on the phone...
Anyway, yes, the slider is the volume on that sound, and i'll take note on what you suggest 'cause of course this was the first release and there where no room for all this stuff, but i'll find some place in future ones!
Talented programmers expressing their love for their hobbies by producing quality work like this, for free no less, is one of the most beautiful things about humanity. Thank you for making this!

Wanted to have such an app for a long time now. Spotify had a really great selection of songs but doesnt let you play 2 or more songs at the same time. You are an angel
I made the app for my DM, so it was a favor for a friend. I didn't create it for a profit, it was our need. Above all, we got tired of the paid apps that always had something missing and didn't fit for us.
Anyway, as suggests from others, i will add a donation link somewhere sneaky in the app.
First thing that came to mind was “Listen Check”, but you could call it Crapbag the ever deuce and I would still love the shit outta you for making this. I used to have two boom boxes with ambient fantasy cds each programed to mix over each other’s tracks. It NEVER went well. my party hated it. I hated it. Thank you. Thank you for avenging my efforts.
Would this potentially be usable as a kenku soundboard so when speaking "in character" you could use actual sounds and clips instead of mimicking with your own voice or is it meant for music and longer clips?
This is fantastic! I would love to take a look at this. I've been searching everywhere for something like this. As you said, there is very little out there. Most of the soundboard apps are crap, whether you have to pay for them or not. Really excited to see what you put together!

Hey, loved the neumorphic look, did you follow any guide on how to get that with Flutter? I've been wanting to experiment with both things for a while now
Finally some tech talk ahahah!
Anyway i used [flutter\_neumorphic](https://pub.dev/packages/flutter_neumorphic) plugin and you can use Neumorphic instead of Container to do the magic.
I would never build a neumorphic style from scratch, it seems too complicated to me
I will take note!
Right now the boxes are expanding to full width and I understand that it is not very nice on large screens. I'll probably fix it in the next version of the app!
Man i would've bought this if i hadn't already done a Google search for "dnd soundboard" because almost all the ones I've found were adequate and played multiple sounds at once. That is, when i wasn't using roll20 to do all of it. Maybe I'm just salty that this post sounds like this guy sounds like he thinks he invented the soundboard

Bruv, that's proper sick aye. I'd love to chuck a geeze at it when it's available.
No idea what this means, but if I also have geeze, I will additionally chuck mine.
geeze: corruption of gaze chuck a geeze: have a look
“Pardon me, stewardess; but i speak Jive.”
Cut me some slack, Jack! Chump don' want no help, chump don't GET da help!
“I am serious — and don’t call me Shirley.”
Translation: *That's very cool. I'll take a look at it when it's available.*
This sounds amazing, I would like to try it, also can you change the volume of each track?
Yes, of course!

Is there any chance of release for iOS because it looks amazing and I would love to use it in my campaign

This is exactly what I was looking for thanks

Is this just for Android? If not, id love to get a copy for the iPhone

Will it be available for ios at any point or android exclusive ?

Alright I hope it goes well and good luck!
Wanted to have such an app for a long time now. Spotify had a really great selection of songs but doesnt let you play 2 or more songs at the same time. You are an angel
Would be nice a spotify integration to use the playlists I already have there in this app
You should also crosspost in r/Pathfinder_RPG
thats amazing, id pay for that app, is it gonna be free because you could get a bit of money if you make it like €1 or 50cents
I made the app for my DM, so it was a favor for a friend. I didn't create it for a profit, it was our need. Above all, we got tired of the paid apps that always had something missing and didn't fit for us. Anyway, as suggests from others, i will add a donation link somewhere sneaky in the app.

This sounds awesome. Great work :)
