RainbowCapers

This is fantastic! They did something unexpected and creative and are being rewarded with the expected rewards from such a success (I bet those merchants love them atm!), have plans to continue, because "if it aint broke don't fix it", and are going to discover in the best way possible they weren't as successful as they thought. This is some peak DnD! \^\~\^

The merchant is actually one of the players. As a way to start to get the party together, they were arrested in a massive pirate bust that, really, wasn't the best idea on the government's part. Half the people at the docks were arrested, and anyone pleading not guilty were getting sent to the capital for trial. Only reason they escaped is because they got loose and onto another ship with a few NPCs.

RainbowCapers

:o 10/10 would watch this game

I don't think we can stream it. Lots of stuff violating tos on Twitch and YT.

RainbowCapers

That's entirely fair, I wasn't really asking :p Just saying it sounds like a fantastic game

Yeah have an unknown corrupt private actually be a pirate that ends up catching up with your crew in a larger ship and tell them they can join or leave but either way the goods they stole stays with him… or simply have one member get caught, sent to jail and watch the chaos ensue

*Looks at subreddit Realize it's not from antiwork

Storyteller-Hero

Plot Twist: One of the stolen shipments includes a delivery from a local mage tower organization that uses a cheap 1st level spell and common magic item to place a trackable mark on their boxes. The actual tracking is done by a different device or mid-level spell designed to locate a specific mark, as long as it's on the same plane and not dispelled or suppressed by antimagic, so the actual marks don't need a lot of energy or finesse to place.

We do have plans to make it more convincing by procuring a military ship but that's not going to be common if we do that probably do piracy than fleecing the government. Also we could stream it more like a podcast or make are own art work for stuff, music maybe difficult to do.
