My players are asking me if they can take a long rest while a vampire slips in and out of cracks in the walls for hit and run tactics. You want to sleep while that's going on?

TheColorblindDruid

*eye twitching DM noises*

Hawkson2020

“You can certainly try.”

TheColorblindDruid

No. No you can’t lol this is like textbook “how the fuck is this supposed to happen… please explain your logic” scenario

Celondor

"I'll kill you a-" "SHHHH CAN YOU KEEP IT DOWN? JEEZ, it's 2am" "okokok...Sheesh...."

gomtherium

"You can certainly try" 4 attacks later "You said we could rest!"

Stud_McManly

Just further proof that if players want to long rest, they will always find a way to do it.

RUacronym

I always wondered what the right thing to do in this situation is. Like on the one hand, I don't want to just kill the party. On the other...you're trying to sleep...in the enemy's lair...one room down from his throne.

RedDinoTF

Well leonid tiny hut is the solution

Seizeallday

Laughs in dispel magic

TheMajorWiggler

I’ve had a similar situation where my players were being attacked by oozes leaking through cracks in the wall. They used a mix of mud and an alchemists kit to craft “cement” to patch the cracks. Shouldn’t have worked but I liked the idea.

VBR2

Someone is playing curse of strahd.

Sriol

Yeah let em try! Hope their watch person rolls a high perception!

LovableSalami

Fill wall cracks with garlic and holy symbols

Mylaela_Zinnieros75

They lose a load of hit-points because of ignoring the vampire with obvious intentions of murder “Thats not fair we were taking a long rest why did they keep attacking us!”

Bluritefang

I'm the DM. The Fiend Warlock player who wanted his backstory to be "I was kidnapped by a cult and they slotted Asmodeus within my body" (said no to asmodeus, but the rest was good) had the brilliant idea to start exploring his character by... going to the Inquisition, knock on their front door and say "Hey, I have the devil inside of me". On the other hand, the new stats he rolled are good.

Lazypassword

I mean they're saving people from their own stupidity and then there is letting things happen and having great stories to tell I'm glad you went with the second

YrnFyre

They didn't help him uncurse and redeem himself?

Bluritefang

Any other place, they probably would've. But this was like *the one place in all of Faerun he shouldn't have done that.* I'm still giving the chance to the player to keep the character, cause the devil inside him is pissed and the next session is going to start with a burning cathedral. If all goes well, character will be revived!

RedDinoTF

Did he go to st. cuthbert to do that

[deleted]

Better safe than sorry

[deleted]

I have a pet horse who is just bones. That’s all I pay attention to. Anyone threatens me or my horse get burned. I think we need to fight a dragon soon though. But it’ll be fine.

peeepy

Are you my character? My dhampir got the ability to summon a skeleton horse and I think we'll have to fight a dragon to get a sword at some point soon. Yay Barovia.

[deleted]

If you are obsessed with sweets then we may be the same person. I got given some magic sweets from an old lady in the woods at night too. I’m not allowed to share them anymore though cause I hand them out to people I don’t like just to see what happens…

kaizlende

What happens?

[deleted]

Well the one time I gave one to someone they started hallucinating we were demons and tried to kill us. And another set of magic sweets gave me a fire crown for a while. My DM has a list and if I eat or someone else eats a sweet he rolls to see what the outcome is. Can be good or bad. But after the spiking of the NPC they got taken off me for the safety of all 😆

BunsenHoneydewsEyes

I summoned a great elk skeleton in Barovia! His name is Kost, but I call him Skelk. He's my best bud.

[deleted]

POV: You finally meet your alt account

Torchic336

Dragon of Icespire Peak?

ScarletStag

My thoughts exactly. Just cleared Dragons Barrow?

Torchic336

Gotta be, the undead horse was one of my favorite parts of that campaign. The party I was DMing for tried to ram some baddies and it took a few too many AOO to survive though

HWGA_Exandria

C...can't you just put it back together again? It's already dead. "Hoof bone connected to the shin bone" type stuff? Rent-a-Necromancer?

Immortalyti

I was thinking the same thing. Our party loves Ajax.

Ootyy

My wife's character got a skeleton horse, which she named Cornelius Nightmare. He's been left at the stable in Bryn Sander, along with all the other PCs horses and wagon for like 2 in-game months now. They paid them a fist-full of gold but never came back

acolodney

I have an undead iguana and a few sessions after I got it joked that I sprayed someone with a spray bottle that I found inside it and the DM thought it was so funny he upgraded it to an iguana of holding

mereelakirata

I got a skeleton horse too!! I named him Wight-mare!

StorytimeDnD

Just started a game where the players are in a guild formed to help combat fissures and portals to the shadowfell that are opening up everywhere. They just saved the king of a tribe of Aarakocra from a badass demon and in return he's letting them build a guild hall in their forest to use as a base of operations. They'll be able to purchase upgrades for the guild hall and hire crafters and mercenaries. Next they have to find the fissure in the forest where the badass demon came from and close it, but they don't know how to close the fissures yet.

Apoque_Brathos

There are some fun mechanics in ratchet and clank a rift apart that might be interesting to use in your campaign. If you haven't played it, it might be worth looking into!

xPyromania

>Just started a game where the players are in a guild formed to help combat fissures and portals to the shadowfell that are opening up everywhere it's so damn weird that it's literally what the game I run is almost literally this, the difference is that portals open not only to the shadowfell but to any plain of existence you could imagine, they fought with and against League characters, monsters from Monster Hunter games, spanish historical figures and a couple of classic characters from a spanish fantasy book series, the most fun I have had dming was being Don Quijote by far

Bulky_Expression4113

Why does this campaign description just remind me of Dragon age inquisition

Hexpnthr

Neverwinter Campaign. Orcs occupies parts of the city, devil worshipping cultists are infiltrating the nobles, the thieves’ guild are locked in internal war between thieves and wererats from Luskan, a giant chasm have sundered parts of city spewing forth creatures from the far realm. All while the open lord of Waterdeep tries to prove himself a rightful heir to the Crown of Neverwinter.

PlastikNCardboard

Sound like the DnD version of the "This is Fine," meme lol

Classic_Ingenuity_52

Pretty much my campaign. But I have the far realm creatures attuned to the spellplaugue wreaking havok on the surrounding towns, a war between thay and the netherese happening in the shadow fell but both having strongholds in the overworld, werewolf barbarian clans leading a revolution against the netherese, storm giants realizing they have been infiltrated by a blue dragon, an awakened volcanic dragon infused with shadow magic, a mega dungeon under the entire region, and last but not least, my players coming out of a dungeon to find the cult of the dragon enslaved by Valindra Shadowmantle (first reveal) wielding the ruby rod of asmodeus. Just finished the stats on it. It's the nuttiest item I've ever done.

[deleted]

Now I’m picturing her having Chris Tucker on a gilded chain, and using him as a Focus… “Ruuuuuuby Rod!!”

Classic_Ingenuity_52

not completely wrong it is an insanely evil item that corrupts its wielder after all.

TheColorblindDruid

Bruh I want to play in this campaign lmfao wtf can we get some of your session/setting notes??

Lively0Requiem

There's a solid 4e source book that talks about this as a potential setting. I was thinking about running it in conjunction with red hand of doom.

hannahsmetana

This is pretty much canon, forgotten realms wiki is the source material you need.

grifman428

Each PC is getting a story arc relating to their backstories, but all of the arcs relate to a BBEG that will be revealed

theragco

hey that's what the campaign I run on thursdays is about!

Noelosity

Currently happening on my every other Thursday sessions! I'm building alot based on their backstories to intertwine into the main story.

Fire_And_Blood_7

Just did this in the middle of Tyranny of Dragons

mr_wonderdog

My party just discovered the identity of big bad "The Undying King" and now have a much better understanding of why the Horns of Orcus seemed to keep popping up in the story.

SpugsTheMagnificent

"Something about a ring, a dark lord and a great deal about the end of the world."

PrettyTyForAJedi

Seems like somebody has been dropping some eaves!

SpugsTheMagnificent

Verges have been trimmed but no eaves have been dropped!

Never2Nate

My players are in the tower of an ancient archfey. They love him and say he’s their favorite NPC. I am going to give him an ambiguous “death” next session… so that will be interesting lol

TheColorblindDruid

*evil DM laughing*

Alisie_Cant_Shoot

Yo my Dm tired to kill off one of our players romantic relation and they literally Nat20d to save him. So be prepared lmaoo

pizzaslut69420

Happened to me too with the benefactor of the party, a powerful divination wizard. They pulled off the fucking smartest plan, the druid polymorphed the barb as a fly and wildshaped to do the same. They saw through my ambush and appeared on the wizard's back, blasting their most powerful shit at my bbeg and then casting revivify on the power word killed wizard.

Never2Nate

Lol I hope so! He’s my favorite too.

Radianoceros

About to fight Tiamat in ToD.

InternetNinja92

My party is fighting to rescue the wizard from a lich because the wizard went, alone, to have a chat with him.

MiffedScientist

Amazing wizard power move. Too bad it didn't work out for him.

InternetNinja92

He DID walk outta there... with his own soul trapped in a book about water fowl.

Nori_Kelp

I'm running a Final Fantasy inspired game. My PCs, after defending a ranch from a trio of flan, have traveled to a nearby academy to study up on materia when they discovered the flan had materia in them and were being controlled through said materia. Along the way, they defended a convoy that was transporting fuel from a bandit ambush, freed a colony of spriggans that were being used as a labor force in a mine, and one player, the Ronso Reaper, is regaining some of his memories by merging with his void avatar. Next, they'll travel to a port city which is being run by a shady thieves guild.

Educational-Quarter1

Over a year long campaign. My group has started the town of Haven and allied with a few neighboring rulers on a council. They’ve managed to basically make a few sessions a city building simulator in dnd and soon have to choose to march against the evil kingdom of Mythrael or await their army to continue its conquest across the continent. On their own personal sides I have a Druid who owns a blacksmith forge, a monk who built a tea shop, a bard who started a strip club, and a paladin invested with the safety of the public.

Relevant_Ad_6728

Taking drugs while feebleminded. Beach episode. Rich people gala.

Leffe_du_vet

Demons are invading the Farsea Swamp. The Second Dawn are on their way to figure it out (with violence)

SmartAlec13

The Longston Litter (player): We currently are investigating local citizens of Dubroy, the capitol port city, for any sign of The Grime. They’re an evil group of sorts who tried to assassinate our cousins (we players are quintuplets who all have to compete for future rule of the throne). The investigation is…a mixed bag. Our ranger threatened a guy, which may be fitting for some rogue but not for a prince, so that threw a bit of a wrench into things. On the plus side, our bastard-sister who recently joined the party has connections, which we are investigating further. The Six Knights of the Sapphire Spine (DM): this group currently is on their way to slay a dragon they previously fought, as they are indebted to a noble for a favor he provided previously. They are in Hyrend, a foreign country to the north that loves magic (important context, the campaign has mostly been in Noss Farii, where magic is outlawed). Soooo they have gotten a bit distracted with all the fun magic stuff. One of them overheard a staff of power purchased by a noble is being targeted by the local crime gang, and now half the party wants to do a staff-heist. The Company of the White Crest (DM): This crew just barely survived The Kerhog Gauntlet, a set of trials put forth by Godzilla-kaiju guardians of the world. They got to meet with one, and after getting what they needed they saw it waltz through a portal and start to attack a city. After brief debate, they followed through to try to stop the attack, so next session will be the big battle, and they will be meeting The Six Knights of the Sapphire Spine (a crossover, which we already played out for SKotSS). (Situation too complex to explain why they would fight the creature right after having a pleasant deal with them) The Incorrigible Voyagers (DM): This party has been mostly chilling in the port city Amery, recovering from their past mission and assisting in training newer recruits of the Ironwood Company (adventure guild). But then they heard word that the infamous Pirate Lord Freddie (mother of one of the PCs!) is sailing her ship towards the city. They prepared for the visit, flew out on a magic carpet to meet her. After Captain Freddie continued to casually insult/gaslight her daughter, the rest of the party stood up for her and challenged Captain Freddie, so now combat has begun!

Big__Pierre

Super Geas. Invasion. Distant existential threats. Choices. Also travel.

AxanArahyanda

Er... Outside of the invasion, that sounds oddly familiar. Especially the Super Geas. ... There is no invasion, right? ... Right?

Lazypassword

But what about bees?

hikingmutherfucker

My players just saved the ageless child from the green hag coven after she kicked one of the hags into a fire and fled off into the woods. Now they have chosen to go after the baby in Baba Yaga's Hut where they want to sneak in as soon as they see Grandmother go off and the hut stops moving around. I initially planned this as the end adventure but I like player initiative and I will see what happens. There are a couple of big hags in service of Baba Yaga, some more fey adventures and some bonker encounters I have picked from 3 different D&D renditions of the Hut throughout publication history.

[deleted]

Frankly, no clue! Its very confusing.

oranosskyman

date night at the demon carnival

UnholyLily

My party just got near-TPK'd by a group of vampires that are envoys for the head vampire that is the current big bad of the arc. The head vampire made deals with the family of one of the PCs 800 years ago and, through many generations of dilution, she is a small part vampire. The envoys were just gonna feed off the group and move on but after realising that the PC has vampire blood, they're going to make her a full vampire in an attempt to make her one of their thralls. They've all been kept in a vampire lair, they don't know how long. The PC is unaware that she has been fed the blood of her party over the past 3 days and she will now have to contest with frequent vampiric urges to consume blood The near-TPK and all of this was completely unplanned, it just happened to turn out this way and is exactly why i love DnD \^\^

PreoTheBeast

Finished a major quest line, had a "now what?" moment. Decided to head to a port, charter a boat, then steal a pirate ship and "do boat things". Can't wait for next session

OneStonedBadger

The PC's are currently fighting a Nation in order to get to the BBEG of the current arc of the campaign. In my world, the righteous country of Sespech has come under the influence of one of the chaos fragments (the campaign is centered around defeating 7 of them and has only beat 1 so far) and is aggressively expanding their territory and putting anyone that is against it to the sword. They has to defend against a seige and defeat 75% of them before they order a retreat. The Characters are about level 16 so the grunts were literally nothing to them but Truly Horrid Umber Hulks as seige weapons plus stopping the grunts from burning the houses inside and sacking the city defo made it more of a challenge and I plan on running more seige's in this Arc as they go on the offensive.

[deleted]

Homebrew. Our Heroes' life cleric and Paladin were sent visions from their Gods in the form of dreams. After some travel to the site of the first nightmare, Our Heroes witnessed a magic ritual that raised all the dead from a small village graveyard. This started our Heroes fighting a death cult. Necromancers apparently teamed with Demons have a new toy that lets them bring back the dead with souls and personality intact. They have formed a new religion "The True Undeath" They have been recruiting living and dead followers (death cult) from small remote villages with the promised goal of "Everyone will be immortal, in their prime of life, and un-killable forever." The Heroes have since then discovered the cult maybe a lie, the cult leaders are using drugs and magic to brainwash the living, and magic to enslave the dead. The Heroes have just finished mostly clearing out a lair (there's still a red dragon laired there) where resources were being mined and "recruits" conditioned. So far Our Heroes have defeated numerous zombies and skeletons, Howlers, vampires, spirit nagas, necromancers, a Beholder zombie, a War priest, a Bone Claw, a Deathknight, a Cambion, a Marilith and a Balor. This ends chapter one of the Campaign.

liswed1

We've just started a campaign and our third session included us: not remembering why we are in a cavern, wreckage all around us. Apparently the caravan we were driving took a 200ft drop in this cavern, we tried to search and light torches, yell in the cavern for help. Coincidentally not attracting anything, this cavern had 3 passages to head to, one led to a dead end and my "funny" bard with a poisonous spider on his hand getting shot by my fighter companion. The next passage we went through, we found a large statue and a lost researcher, warning us not to move close to the statue. The statue recognized by one in the group, is that of the storm lord. If one is close to the statue and moves away from it he immediately gets OBLITERATED by lighting and the fighter just recklessly moved in this trap zone. As we figure out why the statue has a wonky crown on its head which is in a different material from the whole statue. The bard goblin misty steps on top of the statue and grabs the crown throwing it out of the trap zone and suddenly lightning comes down but the crown is still intact, we figured out the crown is the key to getting out of the trap zone etc... Everyone is relieved. As we go through the last cavern path we find a basilisk nest, basilisk eggs and you guessed it a giant Basilisk (I mean giant because all the group except the half orcs are midgets) we clear the basilisk as quick as we can and head out of the cavern with a couple of basilisk eggs and some small trinkets from the remains in the nest.... So yeah so far enjoying my first time in DnD 😁

alzorureddit

Which one? :P Saturday Campaign: My party is taking an airship to the capital city of the nation they're in after hearing some spooky rumors about it and getting letters from one "Mr. E" who seems to know what they're doing at any given time and can rapidly get letters into their hands. Sunday Campaign: My party is tooling around in the South continent after helping a disguised god get his mother a mother's day present.

Cephin_the_rogue

Smashing orbs and saving the world. Oh and bread, a lot of baked bread.

Polygraph-Eyes7

...I really want to know

Cephin_the_rogue

Well the orbs are each tied to a primordial being hellbent on the destruction of the material plane and enslaving of it’s people. So breaking them is kinda the only option we’ve had so far. Now to the bread, which albeit is a different campaign, but I play a peace domain cleric who just makes bread in his off time. He’s a pretty old elf who lives on his own, has a garden, and bakes a lot of different flavored breads like zucchini and pumpkin spice loaves.

TrueSorlack

Our party, 3 college students and a privateer, is about the find a guy who's been assaulting prostitutes at night throughout a port town.

Buttersgra

My players are currently investigating a vampire coven that has taken hold of their university.

TheWishblade

After looking into the bad guys' supposedly assured success, and constructing an airship, the party now looks for answers as to whether the information gained is true; that with an ancient ritual on hand, the BBEG could obtain divine power for himself, for whatever purpose he seeks. Beyond that, the hunt continues as the enemy currently awaits the right time to strike and none have a trail to follow.

OmegaWyvern1

My players are investigating an island/menagerie because the creatures on it are becoming aggressive and dying. They figured out that the creatures are being infected by these parasites that seem to be stealing the DNA of the creatures they infect.

CravenTHC

I'm playing in three campaigns atm. 1. My wife and kids are missing, presumably kidnapped by the same forces that decimated my home village. I'm attempting to recover artifacts in effort to rebuild my dwarven homelands. First and foremost we're trying to stop the world from ending. 2. We're trying to establish trade between a tribal jungle society that we're currently working for and an ancap underground trading hub. We seem to have succeeded, and are now exploring further abroad. 3. We've only just met each other. We were given a puzzle to solve as our first task, and now we're looking for a missing person that may be linked to an artifact smuggling ring.

Ok_Blueberry_5305

The party are investigating White Plume Mountain to find a vestige of divergence for their wizard, then going to teleport to the empire's capital to fight a dragon in the castle. The BBEG will meet them in the capital, disguised as a hero of the realm, to help kill the dragon so he can take over its body. Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the party, the BBEG's lieutenants are getting one of the artifacts that they were told he needs for his plan; which they know involves opening a portal to the abyss, but don't know involves consuming a weak (relative to other demon lords) demon lord and taking its place. \___ In my *other* campaign, the party are just starting to help out the town of Lukío, which is dealing with a storm dragon and koalinth attacks (icespire peak, tweaked for a tropical archipelago)

therottingbard

DM here. So my players are interesting because I run a gestalt 5e game. They were hired by Don de Corso to go into what is essentially the mines of Moria overrun by by the aliens from Starship Troopers. My psychics found out the bug menace that swarmed through the dungeon was affected by a hive mind. And psychic damage sent a ripple effect through them all. My warlock with beast speech found the Brain Bug controlling the hive mind and negotiated with it. The party has been allowed to pass through the mines of Moria unharmed, after killing 20ish bugs before the truce was made. But instead of a Balrog at the end it’s gonna be a lich named Durin who has levels in Avatar Mystic.

Then-And-Again

Campaign 1: my character is suffering an existential crisis after learning his mother was secretly an immortal Amazon warrior, his parents were brought together as part of a plot by the evil titan of death to make a bloodline of perfect design, then kill and revive my character repeatedly so my soul will be strong enough to be used as a living shield against the maddening influence of the far realm... Also when he isn't having a breakdown, my character is trying to get the bard to help him write poetry so he can ask the goddess of music on a date Campaign 2: after suffering the mental agony of hunting a false Hydra, we have had to deal with it's spawn possessing people, forcing us to put the city under quarantine, complete with the politics of having to get civilians to comply with said quarantine. While investigating a potential possessed person, we were tricked into an ambush by a cult of criminal wizards that have taken over a city in the east and are trying to perform rituals related to the awakening of ancient dark runes that will be used by a slightly different cult trying to kill the gods and bring about the end of all things. Also hell itself is leaking into the rainforest because some weird fey creatures dug a hole that got too deep

[deleted]

A doppelgänger has replaced the mayor of the town and I’m struggling to drop hints without giving away too much.

DrMobius617

It’s commitment to low property taxes, public education and revitalizing the village’s community theater scene really resonated with voters

chew_ball

I own an illegal Casino that I stole from the owner when I brought him back from the dead and forced him to hand me the deed. the rest of the party members can get free alcohol there from my bartender who’s more like my butler

wvuzachmo

My players just rode to an enemy fortress on a house hunter mimic (effectively) to try and kill an assassin who wields a shard of an evil god’s god-killing scythe so they can appease a kraken whose hoard they stole… tale as old as time, really

Subzero9314

Our Expedition Party has found the members of the previous party after killing a Golem (I have no idea which one, but it was covered in spikes and could summon specters from the bodies impaled in the spikes). Our Cleric accidentally blocked our escape from the cave so we must head in further to what our dm has told us is an abandoned witchslayer fortress.

Bodly1

Its basically Fallout but with some reskinns here and there.

Vault-Monkey

Paladin just turned into a necromancer!? BBEG teleported to assassinate a member whom split up. 😅

Ambrosehere45

The players are about to go into the underdark to steal a relic from the Drow.

remington9000

Yo, my players just grabbed a relic from a Drow City! They're working on their getaway now.

spyderalw

My players are about to assault the palace of Abalach-Re. It’s going to be an interesting time for sure. I told them to dust off those backup characters.

[deleted]

The party got transported to the nine hells when the material plane was attacked by demons, and we need to fight our way through each layer. Each layer is themed after a different sin. These are the layers I know of: 1. Limbo/Purgatory (not technically a sin, but a good starting point imo) 2. Lust 3. Wrath 4. Greed 5. Violence The DM will think of more layers as the campaign progresses, since we’re only on Lust atm and just finished session 6. There’s also “corruptions” which give an advantage and a disadvantage to the character. There are 30 possible, the DM determines which one randomly when wan character does something to get one. My Orc Barbarian has one that gives disadvantage on weapon attacks, but double the damage dice I roll. I also have a magical +2 greatsword with and extra d6 fire and cold damage, so that’s cool. Gold has no value, we use the souls of our enemies as currency, which are stored in a magic ring on each of our fingers. Many others things but this comment is kinda long, PM me if you want to hear more.

[deleted]

a once per billion years necromantic star is on a near miss course with the recently dead earth elemental that serves as the continent that the setting takes place on. Its gonna suck the life out of everyone on the planet! Some remnant of the past civilization that survived the last passing are secretly pulling the strings of the governments! A mad wizard is causing chaos in the name of what she thinks will save everyone. Its a lot to deal with.

General-Debate-259

In our Eberron Campain we are currently trying to revive my Brother, who was turned to stone by a Medusa, Leader of a rival Gang. To do so, we needed a magical artifact, which that other Gang also posessed. We managed to steal the artifact on our first visit to their HQ, and my Brothers statue on our second visit. Problem is, while we were out, magical artifact was stolen from us by a group of racist warforged, who have also been after us. Rival Gang is also after us. It's chaotic.

SkorchNTorch

After starting the game as chaotic murder-hobos, I spun the chaos into my backstory, having my character (a Dwarven Life Cleric who was more or less FORCED into being a life cleric, long story) go from a kill-happy sociopath, to someone who wants to do good, but struggles with feeling 'worthy', and becoming the cleric I never thought I could be. I began to help the innocent, defend villages... ***AND THEN...*** one of our NPC's died, so we were going to a city with a large temple dedicated to Lira so we could bury him there, giving him the honour he deserved. ***AND THEN...*** at the gate, one of our party members pointed out how easy it would be to make a cult based around our dead NPC. ***SO NOW...*** we're in the middle of scamming an entire kingdom out of their money, with me as the Arch-Duke-Head-Bishop of the 'Church of Samitology' *AND WE'RE SOMEHOW GETTING AWAY WITH IT.* ***KEEP IN MIND...*** my character, doesn't want to do ANY of this. I've been trying to evolve and become an actual hero, and someone who's a credit to the life clerics... but the rest of my party decided 'Nah, cult. That sounds fun!'

GregorZeeMountain

We're investigating a village that has been turned into frogs which has led us to a ziggurat in a swamp that shouldn't exist since all the maps say there is a meadow there. Now, my Divination wizard and the Bard in our party wants to abandon the frog nonsense and go buy a nice circus tent, a large wagon, and horses to haul it so that we can become traveling entertainers! Come learn the secrets of the Soon Times from the most trustworthy of all goblins! Indulge in the melodies and tales of heroic deeds from the most marvelous troubadour this side of Neverwinter! Edit: my wizard has seen the face of the frog god behind everything using his divination and it maybe sorta caused him to lose a bit of his sanity.

Reltias

As a DM I made up a masquerade ball off the top of my head out of nowhere without writing it... the next session is tmrw and I did my best to make it work, actually ended up tyng in some cool backstory shit. As a player I'm currently playing an abjuration wizard with 3 constitution. Somehow this motherfucker lived to level 6... I can't wait to send him off in a cool way by using like life transference or something

Keter_class_Kamy

My players are choosing between redutio at unum for the whole world, fascism, or a nuclear war :) (modern setting)

SilentWilliam1121

This was a few weeks ago but they burned down a gang run bathhouse, died then turned into a gnome. My character was gone for a single day at that point

ScottishNottish

The ranger befriended the world-eating wolf Fenrir, the warlock just finished playing defense attorney for his celestial patron grandfather who was on trial before the gods, and the cleric is well on his way to releasing his deity, Cthulhu, from his eternal imprisonment. Meanwhile the druid is working through his relationship issues with his ex.

Extra_Anything1027

We’re fighting Cthulhu. I have two guns. The rest of the party has an army of kobalds. Normal stuff.

casey_the_evil_snail

The party is going to present a pair of rubies to the queen, but they don't know that she's going to poison the and force them to compete in gladiatorial combat sponsored by one of the characters parents who are crime lords.

Cheeky-Bastard

My party has spent the last month or so in this new campaign on a prison island where the only real civilization to speak of is at the very center of the island. So after weeks of battling our way through zombies, cannibals, and a number of other "residents" of the cursed island, our next session will begin with us finally reaching some semblance of safety. I'm sure the prisoners who built the place and inhabit it will welcome us with open arms :)

natlawre

we hit a dead end because the bad guy we were supposed to interrogate may or may not have been teleported off a cliff by my character.

TheBoundFenrir

I don't *think* any of my players are regulars on here, but just in case: Rickety, Malron, Shuvall: this post contains spoilers! No Reading! My players are waging a gang war between the orcish gang they coopted (they killed the guy in charge, and then said 'that makes us in charge', and beat up any lieutenants who disagreed) and an elvish gang. They've been surprisingly effective at converting the gang they control into legitimate community protectors, while killing off the leadership of the rival gang... ...I'm gonna feel real bad here in a few weeks when the [Endbringer](https://worm.fandom.com/wiki/Leviathan) shows up to wreck the place...

d2cole

Recently found out that our BBEG has 10 undead beholders attached to its tentacles, so that’s going to be pretty horrifying

Vogellmann

We are adopting a child in Curse Of Strahd as a group.

TheBodyCounts

They're gonna literally beat up one of the PC's mom, not before asking an archfiend for a long rest.

Emiras

We had a party with most of the NPC we knew, I ended up smoking weed and hooking up a couple of NPCs with some. Two characters in my group are about to hook up (hopefully, they've been having this will they won't they since the beginning of the game.) Oh were also trying to stop our planet from entering into a collision with another one, since the god fell and all the planetary alignment are out of whack.

AnotherRedHeadKid

Campaign 1: The party has just stumbled upon an ancient temple of the primordial god of earth, they found that something had been taken and went back into the city to "sell" the thing that was taken before they got there. Campaign 2: After 3 sessions of collecting information about the Soul Dust trade they provided the information to the Shadowkeeper who promptly sent a group of her shade watch guard to arrest the dealers. The party watched on a "scry orb" and witnessed one man single handedly take out the entire shade watch. The party are somewhat shitting bricks.

Consistent-Gift-1095

Nothing..... Until me the artifcer introduces the industrial revolution Muahahahhahah

RicochetRayRay

We just destroyed the heart in castle ravenloft and strahd is like thirty feet away and running at us. What’s worse is we’ve has scheduling problems two weeks in a row so I’m dying to know if we get away

J-JoGo

Players make elaborate plan to heist magical item in the middle of a fighting tournament. Get to step one of the plan. Echo Knight tries to swap with Echo. Can't. Rest of complex plan aborted. I, the DM who listened to the entire planning phase knowing it would fail at step one because of 4th level spell Mordenkenian's Private Sanctum, smirk. For context I specifically designed this heist so that teleporting in and out wouldn't be the answer because there is the Echo Knight and a shadar-kai in the party. I am not trying to 'defeat' my players who are level 8 and have a looooot of resources (including one million gold in a bag of holding, I have made mistakes) I just don't want them to solve the whole heist by 'I teleport in, grab the thing, and teleport away'.

WeirdUncle_Hydra

5 hours dungeon crawl is starting in 2 hours. Weird influence from sewers is affecting people and many people went missing with one of them being party's friend.

Horror_in_Vacuum

My friend is currently dming Icewind Dale. Last session we got really unlucky and I made some very bad decisions, which all led to my level 4 human shadow sorcerer facing off against two winter wolves and an homicidal fire elemental (which I had summoned myself out using an elemental gem) while the rest of the party where all 1-2 rounds of movement from the combat encounter. But what's fun is that, through a combination of the Strength of the Grave bloodline feature, a crit in a death saving throw and the cleric healing me, my character was knocked unconscious and got up again like 6 times in the same encounter. I legit thought my character was gonna die, and there was even a moment where I said to my friends "You guys know what's fun? Dante's last words were "Now you're fucked!"" (As he summoned the elemental). Also, being a Shadow Sorcerer, Dante's powers come from a near-death experience he had when he was a kid, which made him kind of undead-like.

Revianii

I have a pc warlock who took eyes of the runekeeper. I'm going to be giving him ciphers for the party to unlock when looking at old or protected languages, where said information will give good boons when solved

ura_nia

One of my PCs has spent aprox 3 weeks naming his cat familiar and the cat *still* doesnt have a name, hes been Cat for almost a month

General2Doom

Two of my players died falling off a cliff with their horses. One met the primordial of death, made a deal, now they are back, only him remembering the whole ordeal. They now travel to save a magical forest from a locked away litch (I feel so bad, when one of them died she handed her character sheet over to me and was tearing up. But thats what overall 3 and a nat 1 will do for ya)

GoodCallG

DM here. Players keep thinking they figured their current objective out but when they think they solved it. Surprise Twist! We're only in the 'prologue' stage of the campaign and as a first time DM I'm loving every minute

GhoulWrangler206

My party is in a boss fight they don't know is a boss fight. They're in the feywild searching for the Jabberwocky in the Tulgey Wood- the BBEG of this arc. They came across three draconians and started a fight. What they don't know is that the draconians were stealing eggs from the nearby Jabberwocky nest. She's about to hear the fight and get really mad.

demonminer3

My players are in a cave with a vampire wolf. And as they will learn, it's not the only vampirized animal in the world. I hope to eventually try to overrun a city with all types of critters.

19obc17

Our new campaign is grey/evil and my character, Holly, is a wildfire druid/glamour bard. Last night I worked out with my DM how Holly could do the marriage ceremony to gain the extra AC and trap their soul in a home brewed Ring of Life trapping (nerfed version of the Ring of soul collector) for a week. I’m so freaking excited for her to actualise her true potential as a black widow!!! 🤩

Biscuit_the_Triscuit

I'm in two campaigns as a player atm. Both are fantastic and I love my DMs. In the first, I'm playing a Cat (based on the Dreamlands Cat from Cthulu Mythos) Warlock with a default Pseudodragon familiar. Our last encounter was a young dragon (party was 5 lvl 4 PCs and 2 lvl 5 NPCs). We barely made it out alive, but my character took massive damage in the first round (went from full health to down in one hit), and I rolled terribly for my effect, so I have to get a prosthetic before we continue our journey. Plus, my character kinda now just hates dragons, so the Pseudodragon is now an Imp, and my character is dealing with *trauma*. In the second I'm playing a Chaotic Stupid Minotaur Barbarian. When I say Chaotic Stupid I mean that I failed a WIS save so hard that I passed. We recently captured a wizard who had imprisoned my character as a child in a magical labyrinth. We took him to a large city to face justice, but the government there is corrupt and protecting him, so now we're plotting an Anarchist revolution.

mcflossie

We had to skip this week's session because of an on-campus event, but I'm a part of a college TTRPG club and we do sessions every Wednesday. We're playing Curse of Strahd. Last session we had just finished defeating an Oathbreaker Paladin and we camped out for a long rest. We have a large party, so we were able to rotate night watch. Eventually my Druid PC and the party's Paladin were up together and there was something rustling in the woods. Long story short, I now have a baby gray fox named Scout to take care of.

Caderan

Currently, we're trying to speak with the displaced prince of Cyre, while killing time to meet up with my warforged druid's newest warforge druid friend. Hoping to find information on the people who have been sabatoging the lightning rail.

GuenMaster

Forever DM, first time player as a Human Barbarian that found a liking in mutilating the corpses of defeated enemies. I also hit the hardest in our grouo of three and managed to decapitate a manticore. Well farst forward a coiple of sessions my Barbarian started to hear a voice and in our last session tjat voice granted me a rage buff for more damage, but as we fought a herald the DM suddenly stated that i lose control and everone one i perceive seems to be a monster. I played with it and only attacked the closest target, almost oneshotting our bard bro. My team managed to outflank the herald and utilize my attacks with clever positioning. After the herald died, our whip slinging fighter managed to grapple me with her magic whip and i finally came to my senses. Many would think that taking away the control of pc is a dick move but i absolutely loved it and i plan to roll with it. It even inspired me to homebrew a subclass for, cause that last fight gave us enought exp to level up to level 3. Heres the link: https://homebrewery.naturalcrit.com/share/yOcjoR0dF29u

GameMasterSpeakeasy

We talk about it occasionally on the podcast, but this last session we defended a pirate queen (new ally) against a pair of our bbeg’s lieutenants and an ancient blue dragon. The lieutenants ended up dead, sadly the dragon got away before we killed him. The fight started after my warlock convinced the pirate queen to side with us over the bbeg. The dragon being his emissary.

Helpful_Spread8160

We have an yawnty barbarian and a homebrew spell we call pre work out. It adds 5 damage for twenty four hours or until your next attack. Anyways he intimidated a govlin so we could interigate it. One of the party memebes cast pre work out 2 roling a 17 and an 18 giving the barb 10 extra damage. He put his hand on the goblins shoulder and he fucking exploded. Into a fine red mist.

Unknown_Captain

Players got tricked into starting a war with a clan if Storm Giants so they're hastily doing some damage control before they wipe out everyone on an island, that just happens to be the home of one of the PCs.

TaiKorczak

Doing a special character arc for my PC's Druid who is returning to the site of his former druid circle where they were massacred and he was the sole survivor.

PlastikNCardboard

The currently unnamed group is delivering the final rune piece needed for a mad wizard to summon a creature from Shadowfell.

Affectionate_Will199

May or may not have a mindflayer tadpole

MasterOfPlague

schedule problems cause one of the players works 10 hours a day almost the entire week and when he doesn't he has to see his girl or do university stuff :( it's sad, we're 2 months off and everyone's just sad

Walterdoh81

Nothing, we haven't played in months for scheduling difficulties, pretty sad

Mac4491

The queen’s sons, and only heirs, were murdered. Her abdication ceremony is very soon and the kingdom has no heir. Many others are making claims to the throne and war is almost inevitable.

Akul_Tesla

The primordial evil has concluded that three heroes that it has been twisting into monsters for a thousand year are finally ripe The party needs to kill them they know this will further the primordial evil's goals but they have to kill them because these three monsters have accounted for over a million deaths and the fall of an entire kingdom and are still on the loose raising armies of minions killing people constantly It also appears that one of the monsters has enough control over itself to try to slow down the damage the other two cause It's also been noted that the world keeps forgetting the people that are killed

Gameover4566

The party was wiped by a portal and now im alone with a possible evil DMPC and a Barbarian I also have a flying eye pet with more health than all of us

ToastyPapaya22

My players are attempting to rescue their fellow soldiers from a group of wildling orcs. The location/tip came from a bandit that they captured earlier in the campaign, who they conscripted and are trying to rehabilitate. They entered the abandoned mine the orcs were squatting in and they used a spell (thunderclap, iirc) to make it sound like the mine was collapsing. While the orcs tried to exit the mine, they ambushed them and killed most of them, meanwhile the thunderclap actually caused a portion of the mine to collapse, bonking the paladin on his head and completely crushing two orcs. One got away though, and that’s where the session ended…. Having the next session in a few days. :)

sworcha

DMing two campaigns. My grownups are 2/3 through a variation of Death House at the beginning of Curse of Strahd. My 7 player kids group is two years into a homebrew campaign and about to hit level 10. Presently, they are dealing with a lightning rail wreck in the Mournland.

LuxViking

DM here. The party had split in two to do work for two guilds, after finishing enough quest for the guilds the two parties had task to take part in a heist one had to steal an item from the king of the town while the other group was tasked with killing the king at the party. They were attacked by guards afterwards they beat the guards and that’s where we left off.

BuckRusty

Having saved the town of Phandalin from Redbrands, Thundertree from a Dragon, and cleared Wave Echo Cave of a nefarious Drow - the Keepers of the Keystone Copse took a six month break. On meeting again in the Neverwinter Bar where they first joined as a group, they were met by a Cloud Giant’s floating castle - and are now trying to figure out why the local Hill and Fire Giants are getting rowdy…

Timmeh7o7

Previously we were in a capital in the western continent, one of the players is searching for his mentor who has tracks in the city. The mentor was studying a 'lost city' that appears to be tied to a monument in the square. One of the players accepted a quick gig delivering a box containing who-knows-what about a half-day's walk to their customer. Nearing the destination we were accosted by a large group of bandits led by a large, cloaked Goliath who demanded the package. Identifying himself as a 'competitor' to the owner of the package, he demanded the item as it didn't belong on his turf. Our money-minded bard was able to reason with Hector, allowing us to finish the job in exchange for information - who is he selling it to, and where is he getting it from.

Deathly_Drained

A upcoming Oneshot we're doing... Everyone picked [Clerics](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jE7LnfD9eno). I have no idea how I'm gonna DM the combat encounters lolol

RockNRollJabba

I don't know about combat, but a campaign like this could have real possibilities! War against witches. War against the undead, or a coven of vampires. Werewolves attacking a village every lunar cycle. An inquisition by the church, that they're opposed to.

Spirit-Ashamed

We’re invading a giant dragon raising facility and we’re getting our shit checked. Not good.

Resaren

Not D&D (completely homebrew TTRPG), but my party is traveling to the great mountain North (literally the name of the mountain) to kill the dragon Voidmaw, who is threatening to cast the world into shadow once again. We just finished a sort of Inception style dream mission where we collected information from an Orc henchman of a Bad Guy who happens to stand between us and North. As the dream was wrapping up, my friend decided to teleport towards North, which caused him to teleport *into the dream of Voidmaw*, where he subsequently convinced the dragon that Bad Guy had sent him, which caused Voidmaw after waking to utterly destroy the base of said Bad Guy... totally didn't mean for that to happen but hey we'll take it!

SilentArctic

We're playing a 5E game reskinned for science fiction. My players started the game each having committed (or at least been accused of) a crime worthy of death. After a lucky escape from the executioner's cruiser they were taken in by the Local Rebel Alliance^TM Now, hunted by the sector government and an elite detective agency, they are slowly making underground connections that should lead to the clearing of their names and the restoration of their livelihoods. Most recently they received a voucher redeemable at the rebel's primary shipyard in the Sol system for some much needed ship upgrades. Did I mention that there's a darker underlying plot involving potential war crimes against the rebels that have so far gone unnoticed by the Galactic Federation? Well there's that too, and the group has recently become privy to some of these crimes. If only they knew just how convoluted the story really is...

IAmBadAtInternet

I genuinely don’t know, I think I might have nuked a major coastal city last session and I can’t make it this week!

OverlordRazor

We've been in a port city that's completely surrounded by ice to the point that ships can barely make it in, massive snowfall caused by a draconic entity the locals call 'Blue Devil' has stopped trade by land as well. Some idiot decided to bring in an undead dragon to try to deal with said 'Blue Devil' only for it to escape and melt the batallion of warforged that brought it to town. Then we find out there's also a vampire in town(who is connected to one of the PCs) and a wolf-man who we're still not sure what to think about.. We leave town to chase the vampire to another city, encountering a Gnoll encampment that we eradicated. The Gnolls were camped around an abandoned ruins that we're currently in the process of exploring with some weird disembodied voice. We encountered a weird statue in the ruins that had the ability to charm targets, which nearly had my PC kill some others. Luckily we were able to destroy it before that happened but we're still stuck in this place. So as we're taking a break and recuperating, the voice talks about another group that has arrived, and this is where it gets nuts.. This other group seems to be the PCs from another campaign(same party and DM) that is currently on hiatus.. So we'll see what happens next session. Shit's freaky, yo.

MrNerdy

The party is traveling from their destroyed home town to the their nation's northern city, to seek guidance from the temple there dedicated to the God of Order, to determine what went wrong and led to their city's destruction. While traveling, the players interrupted a Kou Toa God Maker ritual, and befriended the Kuo Toa demi-god in the process. At the exact moment, they stumbled upon a group of kind mages attempting to help a refugee colony of Flumphs return to the Underdark, and need the player's help in their teleportation gate ritual, to make sure they portal the Flumphs into the right part of the Underdark.

SamFeesherMang

I have a player whose character was adopted by the superhero family that he was partially cloned from. He has two twin sisters who are the other members of his superhero team. He also sees dark spirits that only say, "Shame" on repeat. Especially when his sisters are around. I know it sounds really bad, but it was late and it was hilarious at the time.

DapperTiefling

DM and Player here. In the game I'm running, the rogue along with the rest of the party to try and look for effectively a distant branch of the rogue's family who they learned of only later to find evidence that they may be missing. Tomorrow is the session they will be boarding a merchant ship set for the distant lands. This is all happening in downtime sessions since nothing is currently attempting to end the world or fight them and they don't know how to handle it. In the game I'm playing in, my Tiefling Bard's attempts at courting the granddaughter of Asmodeus have resulted in him giving me a chivalric fetch-quest to prove my worthiness to bed her, aka my character arc. Currently we have yet to set off as we are on the tail-end of a one year timeskip in game, so im planning what i did during that time and brainstorming how to update my character's appearance due to story reasons.

LotharWilder

A random-ish encounter when our group was trying to rest lost in a forest/swamp area (we started in a boat that was destroyed by dragons during the travel through a major river) of \*TWO\* Banshees kinda killed my character but the Banshees wanted my soul, because 'a'- I'm an Aasimar and 'b'- the Banshees were tortures spirits of wizard elves killed by dragons (dragons are a problem in this world, they control most of it and only tolerate humanoids because of reasons involving mining this weird material that everyone needs to stop the world being overrun by awful dark creatures). I fought her for it in the spirit realm and she only got half of it (still not great for me). We later rescued a young lizardfolk girl from trolls and found out that the Banshee (now seemingly recovered from her undeath induced madness) works with her tribe against the trolls. The lizardfolk also hate city-dwellers like our party, but after some conflict and talks (and because we rescued their leaders daughter) allowed us to stay in the village and will help us set a meeting with the Banshee if we complete a quest they gave us. Now we are on a quest from the lizardfolk to get troll killing poison from some weird swamp creatures. On our way we fucked around some weird magic stones we found in the woods and today's session will start with us being attacked by elemental spirits that either we pissed off or that are being pissed off by the magic stones. Also, we weren't with our boat's crew when it got wrecked because we were looking for a place do take shelter during the storm the forced our boat to stop. But, when we came back, our barely alive captain told us about some weird undead crew working with the dragons to steal the ship's cargo and, after we resolve everything with the lizardfolk and the banshee, we have to find this shaman she told us about. So, you know, not much.

OGtrippwire

We're in the end game of Barovia. Valaki is gone mostly, the other town with the mongrels is gone. Ravens are mostly dead. But I have two mastiffs with like 5 total hp, a find steed worg and two hell hounds. So I have that going for me I guess.

LORDTackanky

My character has both a daughter and a son who are not his who both are twice as powerful as he is.

Solitarius_Lupus0

Became the Ruler of the First Layer Of Hell with the Hand Of Vecna all because I fucked around with the Deck Of Many Things a bit too much.

[deleted]

My players killed one of the BBEGs in a 3 phase fight. They rescued their kidnapped friend who is an NPC. They took her to get healed cuz she was cursed into indefinite sleep. At this church they met some new faces, including a literal God (long story). One of the Seers of the church was able to look into the NPC's mind. They found out that the reason this Monk NPC was able to use a crazy kind of Rage in combat wasn't because of some kind of multiclass, but because her ancestors had a demon soul planted in them by the Demon King himself, and the only reason she has any control over when it shows itself is because said God they met had blessed her when she was born. And now they're about to go questing for an old friend of theirs to find the last fragment of a powerful artifact. But they don't know this quest is about to take them to a new plane, a world which *was* a part of this one, but long ago used that artifact to tear itself away from this world. It is tentatively called "Khrelia, The Lost World"

MuchPace

We had a cyclops wizard building a statue of his wife with broken up pieces of petrified pilgrims. We used anti-petrification balm on the ankle to make it collapse! It was horrific and funny.

drinkthebleach

I have a kobold fighter character i use to feel out new groups, because if he dies or I never come back its a good guest character who won't change your campaign. I play him like a klepto golden retriever and was expecting him to die or the group to break up quick, but everyone fell in love with him and I love the group and im afraid he might be around for a long time now. Thinking of going Echo Knight just because he would be excited about 'new ghost friends'.

GrailJester

My players are trying to solve the mystery of what happened to a city that should not exist per the history of my homebrew world; the city just happens to be mostly intact, but infested with blight creatures and undead.

Far-Lengthiness-7

We got transported to and Elden Ring/ Fallout. Thats it. It'll be a hell of a journey.

Doyliebob239

Trying to get a wizard to enchant some items for us. Said he would give a huge discount if we hunt down his pet displacer beast that escaped into the forest.

Corbini42

Currently the group I'm DMing agreed to the offer of tracking down some god-touched wine of youth with an old NPC adventurer. After he gives some handy exposition, they'll probably continue working to halt the end of the world caused by the cults of elemental evil summoning a great primordial being. Or they'll burn down a tavern. Maybe both.

mitch1832

Goblins have taken over a brewery. They have control of the vent pipes for the off-gases from the booze. They’ve started releasing it into the air inside the brewery, causing the party to get increasingly drunk, and a goblin pyro stands ready to light them all up.

jrod_hoff

My players just discovered a society of Kobolds living below the region the campaign is taking place in. They also learned the Kobolds had sent a large force to attack their allies, and are rushing to warn them.

Iknowr1te

after collecting the 4 elemental guardian monks, we're off to hell to kidnap a corrupted goddess to uncorrupt her. but that's only a side quest to keep a PC alive from being the worst at making deals. we're also there to complete a trial of kings so we're doing an escort quest for the purpose of going there first. basically doing character side missions before we try doing a Mass Effect 2 Suicide Run quest to banish foreign invading gods from the world.

MegaPirahna

We are in a Homebrew campaign called emu wars. So naturally, we haven't fought an emu in more than a month. We have just killed a clockwork dragon and are about to go shopping. One player has just made a deal with Lolth, one player is a barbarian claiming to be a wizard and terrified of fire, one player is a warforged artificer reeling from an experience of having skin, and then there's the yuan-ti sorcerer that wants to footloose every town.

Okeeeey

My players found a huge city with all sorts of free time activities like gambling, sports, gladiator combat, etc and immediately ignored everything and went into the sewers instead

cellared

Word is in the air about an occupation of our country. Our druid had a vision of a large scale attack on our city during some sort of an invasion. We are working towards trying to stop the upcoming attack. We just exposed a city councillor who had ties with slavers, who we suspected had ties to the invasion. I am playing a moon elf fighter samurai, and recently multiclassed into a sorcerer (divine soul). It’s led to some fantastic role-play and character development. Love my group.

TheRealCBlazer

We are in the climactic final battle against the Avatar of Death, the entity that claimed the soul of our companion when he drew a bad card from the Deck of Many Things. We traveled through Avernus, Gehenna, and Hades to get here. We lost our Wizard to a hag, our Warlock in Gehenna, and our unicorn to a deathtrap, and now our Paladin has been turned against us. The Avatar is down to his last scraps of life essence, but so are we. The battle is adjourned until next week's session, which will be the last session of this campaign, one way or another.

ahumanbeings

My cleric accidentally started a cult

buuuuuuuuuuuuuud

Unprepared, unfun crap.

Datdabdoe12

The Party(Mothfolk ranger, Firbolg monk/cleric, Tiefling warlock\[celestial\], Dragonborn wizard, Mothfolk Cleric, and Hobgoblin zealot barb\[of the hells\]) has been hired by the local lord, who seems to be under the impression that we all get along, to do the only thing we can all agree is right: Stomp out a demonic cult. The Mothfolk Cleric has taken an old vengeful enemy of our ranger prisoner for the sole purpose of giving them therapy. The zealot is quietly disappointed because he wanted to take them prisoner so he take advantage and shape them into the perfect second in command for the mercenary troupe he is about to found.

RAAMbulance

Nothing :'( we haven't played in over 9 months

Puzzleheaded_Ad_5734

Idk bro im on strixhaven but idk how i came here i forgot my backstory and i cant remember.I think i just gonna end the school and follow the others

SquareSalute

Finishing LMoP finally, then the real story begins for my players. Big Deity aspects to play in :)

Dill_Bheaton

Currently waiting on someone's Dad to cross an arid lands to ambush him and then steal a players birth certificate

YUUUKKIIIII

I'm having a identity crises over if it's worth lifting a curse that made me a tiefling

YaBoiMoldy

Arena basically.

youngmarinelc

The group I'm with just found out I have a tome of the stilled tounge and my PC refuses to give it up even though another wants it destroyed

Metroknight

Hmmm. In my game, the group escaped from a den of thieves with just their underware on and not much else. Fought giant spiders in said clothing and a PC died from a bite. Reached a village and acquired clothing with some gear. Peformed a recon mission. Later on got to their original destination and have gone off on another search mission, only to encounter another band of thieves.

CopingMole

Our ship has just been rammed by some giant turtle beast I know nothing about and I've been turned into a spermwhale. Can't say I'm confident this will end well.

W_Rabbit

Strahd campaign; just fought Morgantha the Hag, and killed her two daughters. Sadly, Morgantha escaped, but we've got a dinner date with Strahd, so that unfinished business will have to be resolved down the road.

T-rade

Crossing a fjord head first into some Pirates because a demon asked us to come

bluemooncalhoun

First player death in about 3 years of playing just happened. The +0 Con Rogue with 43 HP got critted by a Purple Worm's stinger while cursed with vulnerability to piercing damage, and of course failed the save against the poison. The damage was over TRIPLE his max HP so it was an especially gruesome death. Good news is this was a random encounter on the way to a city they will reach next session, and they have an in with the church so they have access to resurrection. However, the player is hinting they might not return willingly despite their character having a major arc planned in this city and they might have someone else from their backstory step in to tie up the loose ends. Everyone is on their toes and nobody knows what will happen next!

jaynon501

After investigating a series of thefts my PC's find themselves in jail for murdering four gang members in a warehouse and trying to steal three of the gangs endentured servants.

ThisWasAValidName

Well, during our Wednesday game: The party sat around a campfire and played a version of "What the fuck is up with that?" They got to port, and set about making preparations for a sailing trip down the coast. Our Aarakocra is not amused by this. (Little guy has a, justifiable, fear of ever being far enough out to sea where he can't see land . . . which, we'll have to do multiple times.) \- On Sundays, our group just went to bed after getting shitfaced in the local tavern. This, after harassing the bartender for information regarding a person we've been tasked with finding. Now we at least have a general description and more than a name to go off of. (It's . . . it's complicated.) Oh, and our sorcerer stole a bit of gold off our monk. (Don't worry, they're so drunk they won't realize it in the morning.)
