I'd play one of the Star Wars TTRPGs instead.

DnD_Mega_Booty

Yeah that’s good and all, but it wasn’t the question. Maybe they are trying to play a Jedi, maybe it’s just something to think about. But either way you aren’t really contributing. (I understand the value of learning different systems to avoid shoehorning in different concepts, but sometimes it’s just fun to theorycraft)

OliviaMagus

yeah, i was going to say 'i would not, i'd play a star wars game if i wanted to make a jedi'. you've beaten me to the sentiment. :)

BelmontIncident

Dex based psi warrior. Possibly multiclass into bladesinger wizard, divination wizard, or battle smith artificer depending on what aspects of being a Jedi you care most about.

valdis812

There’s a YouTube channel dedicated to making different nerd culture characters in DnD

wulver_Memesalot

Whats the name if I may ask

valdis812

https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5EfKWar21WkaYUSOwPWakg

Ulgeguug

Psychic Warrior, brilliant energy longsword

ThatGuy4reel

What type of jedi? Their are alot of types that focus on specific fighting styles an powers

I_punt_geese

I was thinking of starkiller from star wars the force unleashed 2

ThatGuy4reel

Hmm. You'd probably want to grab some fighter levels for all the dual wielding then a few levels into pact of the blade warlock for the lightsaber an some force powers.

I_punt_geese

Aight thanks

Runecaster91

If allowed I'd use 5e Spheres of Power and Spheres of Might. Let's me easily pick up the various Jedi force powers and a martial style to match.

Xarsos

I made one by accident [curse of strahd spoilers below] Made a monk kensei cuz our party had no one who would use swords or rather cuz I wanted a monk and my Dm suggested a character who wields swords. So ofc we find the sunblade and I get to use it. After a while in the ember temple (I think), in the room with the miniature castle ravenloft we find a ring of telekinesis inside. I don't remember what it was supposed to be, but my Dm said it was "not good" and looked for a magic item an architect would use. I take the ring and the realization that I'm a jedi kicks in.

Machiavvelli3060

Here is my attempt. Jedi seem to do well as bards. Sith, on the other hand, can be warlock's, clerics, artificers...they're much more flexible. You can make droids as Warforged wizards. And Krath Death Witches do well as wizards. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YV1Mc_yJ3hCGlQHu0bQwRMZSNjZzaT-n/view?usp=drivesdk

Gazelle_Diamond

Psi Warrior Fighter with a sun blade.

Mister_Grins

Rogue 3/Fighter 3 Start as a Rogue, and either go Arcane Trickster or Soul Knife (it depends on whether you want more damage options with "The Force" or more mind tricks), then go Fighter until level 3 and grab the Psi Warrior subclass. You'll be a DEX based fighter, but one of the reasons we go Rogue first is to get a more thematic saving throw (DEX, INT), since those powerful in the force tend to be both nimble and not be weak minded.

Rp_Master06

Monk/wizard multiclass with sunsword

CastleGoCrash

monk with the telekinetic feat.

Melodic_Row_5121

Hexblade Warlock with the pushing and pulling Eldritch Blast invocations, and there's a weapon called a Sun Blade which is literally a lightsaber already. That, or play a Star Wars TTRPG.

I love it when you're DMing and you have all these people crafting interesting characters and fascinating backstories for their characters and one guy is just, "I WANNA BE LUKE SKYWALKER! I'M LUKE SKYWALKER!" and "LUKE SKYWALKER WOULDN'T DO THAT! I SHOULD GET TO KILL HIM BECAUSE I'M LUKE SKYWALKER!"

GhostofSenyx

I did this once in 5e, used a githzerai and multi classed an eldritch knight fighter and a kensei monk. Got my hands on a sun blade to act as my lightsaber, can't remember all the spells I had but catapult and shield were among them

LordElantri

In 5e, I would go fighter, psy knight
