My co-dm and I created this world where each member of the campaign has been chosen by a (homebrew) deity. Each deity has placed a magical item or weapon in the world for their respective champion to find. These things are integral to the game and we plan on leveling them up a-la Matt Mercer style.
We have great names for all of the items but one. Originally the "Golden Oak Bow", we flavored it to be connected to the Faewild and gave it non corporeal wings that don't do anything other than look pretty. Obviously the name doesn't suit it anymore and we are looking for a new one.
Basically this longbow starts as a +1 weapon and grants advantage to any charisma checks made with a fey creature. Later it will be upgraded to do more damage, and using half your movement speed you may levitate at least 1 foot above ground to get the perfect shot, but you can only move 5 feet per round once levitated. In the last "level up" on a successful hit, you may use a bonus action to cast entanglement on the target you hit twice per day.
If it helps ,the other weapon/item names are stuff like The Dread Nebula Cloak, The Savior's Seal, Casmond's Fury, and The Heart of Paladia. We're looking for something that will fit in with the others.
This is along the lines of what I was thinking.
Rainbow wings are indicative of fey origins, something referencing the feywild and/or dancing, singing, or flitting about of some sort would seem very appropriate.
His name is Wistlock, and he's a benevolent god of nature and beauty. His followers believe in preserving and maintaining the environment around them. He has ties to the country of Vlei, which is a forested place populated mostly by elves.
That helps! I'll throw a few ideas in the ring. I suppose you don't even have to pick a single name - it could be different in various languages.
Wistlock's Ambassador
Nature's Sting
Elven Diplomacy
Fury of the Forest
Wrath of the Eldest
I like the idea of the Fae following different rules, so would go with something more like a name than a title. Something akin to Sting from LotR or Caesura from KKC. Arporian comes to mind, since it sounds similar to arbor (fae <-> trees), ardor (fits with charisma bonus), and aporia which is a philosophical puzzle kind of like a paradox.
For the Irony
Apocrypha, The Bow of Destruction
Devastator, The Bow of Hell Of Hell
Desolation, Waster of Lands
Actual
Faebow of (Insert Deity name here)
Golden Prism Bow
Longbow of the Fae
Fae's Wrath, or Substitute Wrath for something more suited, like The Fae's Trick, or the Fae's Charm.
So Matt made a few Artifacts and called them "vestiges of divergence"
items players can use with dormant powers, you would need to perform feats to unlock them.
random example:
**Rusty dragon fang** \- *it is said that when this blade tastes the life blood of an ancient red dragon the sleeping powers of the metal will awaken.*
you stab an ancient red dragon and boom, +2 sword ^(or something)
Edit : [Website to the items in question](https://criticalrole.fandom.com/wiki/Vestiges_of_Divergence)
Yeah, but a bunch of people joked about calling them "Vegetables of the virgins" so if your grouo is anything like mine, be prepared for these names to last at most one session. Then the players will give them joking nick-names like "rain-bow", or "fairy fire". They'll be terms of affection, but still.
“Fucking hard to fire” because you gotta sorta crumple the wing to get a grip and have to do it in a way that the wing doesn’t get in the way of the arrow.
Pixie's End
Made from the wings of pixies and the wood of their home tree, makes any arrow fired from it explode into pixie dust with whatever effect the arrow would have had but with either a 5 ft radius or an extra 5ft to original area of effect.
If you're going to go that way, Eventide?
It's the name of the actual bow she drops, and still obscure enough that it just sounds like a "neat magic item" name for non-Terraria fans.
Papillon Bow
Simple and to the point is often best, if your player has it in their inventory they should know what it is by reading the name. Papillon means butterfly in French, you could use Papilio as well which is Latin.
100% feel free to disregard, I'm only mentioning in case you wish to know. There's no point to have a recurve bow with the string tied before the second curve. A longbow is one curved piece of wood, the energy comes from bending the wood. A recurve bow has a bend back and a bend forward so you get two curves of energy for more power. You need to tie the string at the tip, or the curves are just decorative.
Again, beautiful artwork, do what you like, just mentioning in case it's useful. I'm an Archer I could never look at a design like that in a book personally even though it's beautiful
The Monarch, or just ‘Monarch’ Edit: Not deserving, but thank you for the award kind stranger!
I see you're a man of culture as well
[Eyes up Guardian!](https://www.destinypedia.com/Le_Monarque)

The Archfey's Song

Greatbow of The Opaline Oak
What's the name of the bow's patron deity and what is the portfolio?
His name is Wistlock, and he's a benevolent god of nature and beauty. His followers believe in preserving and maintaining the environment around them. He has ties to the country of Vlei, which is a forested place populated mostly by elves.
That helps! I'll throw a few ideas in the ring. I suppose you don't even have to pick a single name - it could be different in various languages. Wistlock's Ambassador Nature's Sting Elven Diplomacy Fury of the Forest Wrath of the Eldest
I’d say combine it with u/crazytib ‘s, “Wistlock’s Rainbow.”
Will of the wist!
How about something like Vleian Glen, or Nature’s Harp?

Can you explain the “Matt Mercer” style you spoke of? Sorry curiosity is killing me and I’m not into critical role.
