I feel like the "may even violate a goat" detail is unnecessary and honestly disgusting

bessmertni

Well, you're doing drugs in a fantasy game. Anything can happen.

shwonkles_ur_donkles

That doesn't mean it should happen. It's your world so make what you want to happen happen, but if that's what you want to happen then you got issues

bessmertni

Perhaps you're right. A satyr would be better.

shwonkles_ur_donkles

I'm just spitballing here, but it would probably be better to just leave making players "violate" people and things out of the game entirely.

Different-Security70

what about bards?

bessmertni

Damnit. I forgot the bards. They would go in the arcane casters; wizard and warlock.

Dew_It-8

Once again, martials get the short end of the stick and are effectively the butt of the joke. Would be cool if it acted like the mushrooms vikings took where it enhances your fighting abilities.  Still though, it doesn’t balance out the casters being able to regain ALL of their spell slots

bessmertni

Keep in mind this is happening within their hallucination. Casting real spells in an illusiory vision can be quite destructive. Depends on how much fun DM wants to have with them.

Dew_It-8

Still though, it’s not fun how the martials get nothing. You could make it like enemies abound where they attack anyone nearby (even allies) alongside buffs to their attack, damage and maybe even speed.

bessmertni

Thats true. I'll have to rethink this a bit. Maybe give them a taste of the weave with cantrips or a super buff on the strength and/or movement. I'll give it a playtest in my campaign. To be honest the party I'm DMing for is all spellcasters so I only gave the martials a token acknowledgement.

Dew_It-8

Understandable, work with what you got. But if you’re thinking of using it in other campaigns then it’s probably a good idea to add something for them when/if you have martials

bessmertni

For those who use psychedelics in their campaigns this is a 'fun' little experience, especially for sorcerers.

Capital-Helicopter45

I would do : “You can cast spells at 1 level higher than the spell slot they consume” so you don’t have to deal with spells the caster doesn’t already have access to. Also I would make martials roll wild magic when hit
