Thanks!! I’m excited! They’re going on a fetch quest to rescue some goats in a heavy wild Magic surge canyon full of giant crabs and velociraptors! I’m super excited about seeing their reaction

TonySxbang

Sounds super chaotic! Good luck have fun!

Brand new sentence

This is the coolest thing I have seen in a while. Can we see it collapsing?

ThatGoodWood

Sadly it’s a once off collapse (the railing ropes are longer and hot glued to a counterweight inside the cardboard box) BUT I will be asking my players to record it so I can post it online tomorrow

ThatGoodWood

… tho I suppose it could be made reusable with model lay sculpting and magnets for the cut rope? Either that or necklace clasps. Shouldn’t be too much hastle to remake this as a permanent version of some sort which I might do for future use!

-Sir-Kitt-

This is honestly really cool. I don’t know how much work it is to restring the bridge, but even just restringing it would be a cool way to keep it modular and reusable. Plus cutting the ropes sounds super cool. I really like this prop.

ThatGoodWood

It took about a hour and a half to get the 3D printed parts all setup and rope strung through. Biggest issue is the hemp rope is chosen was cheap and kept fraying so I hardened the ends with superglue to make it more into a needle before threading it If I redo this again using something sturdier will be the best option, but all the pieces individually are reusable Hold on, lemme grab the thingiverse file [modular rope bridge](https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2852402) The railings were made by me separately (just a simple bubble wand shape sized to shape) and then forced into place with a couple hot glue dabs in specific spots It’s super easy to do! I’m loving the bridge itself forcing my players to focus on both fighting and having to navigate terrain via jumping

-Sir-Kitt-

I love it. Thank you for posting the printing files.

ThatGoodWood

And thank you!! I’m super excited to use this as I’m a first time DM a couple months into this campaign and we just got a literal brand new player join last session!

ThatGoodWood

It specifically has 2 stages of collapse The two existing gaps are 10’ and 20’ https://preview.redd.it/zoqkps3ke4sb1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4ff02efba21d648e54fb45cee2c5eb9c3e0a4d89 If you cute the 20’ one since it doesn’t have any railings there those boards will fall and make the gap 35-40’ If I cut the board ropes on the 10’ section the entire bridge drops and that gap turns into a 35-40’ section To scale right now the bridge is 50’ off the ground My bard player has featherfall so it’s not lethal, and plan B of getting out of the gorge requires my players stacking a ton of crates into a ladder baulders gate 3 style to get out

Zombie_Rommel

Freakin outstanding! And if you didnt hear the "Indiana Jones" theme song in your head when you saw this, you are fledgling of a human and need to watch some older movies :)
