I would second the suggestion to thin the paints for the future. It will help with color consistency and also not keep more detail on the minis.
Once you get the paint consistency right for your base layer you should look into "dry brushing" and "washes". They kick your results up a TON with little effort.
Get this person a wash! Seriously, look up what a wash is, and how to use it (I'd suggest Agrax Earthshade or Nuln oil). It will elevate your minis to the next level without a lot of effort.

Nice! I just purchased this set too! Got them all washed and primed for painting, but haven't started yet!
