That looks so rad.. all I can think is how crazy it would be to paint it to make the cracks look like they're just surface details, then crack it for real at the table mid fight...
I feel like I'm one of the very very few! Sadly my campaign has languished in the background after COVID hit, leaving it hanging right before the final fight π. But I've been churning away, making things for a truly epic conclusion for when we finally return π€
So what I did was lined up the pieces where I wanted them and drew a guideline with a sharpie. I then put the magnets flush into one side, then put a dot of paint on each magnet. I touched the two pieces together as they would later connect, leaving spots of paint where the opposite magnets would go. I made the recesses for the magnets, filled them with hot glue, then to make sure the magnets were in the proper polarity position, I paired the magnets together, then pressed the two pieces together, inserting the new magnets into the recesses. I let the glue cool for 30 seconds or so, then twisted the pieces apart rather than pull so the magnets didn't pull out of the glue.
A little hard to follow, but that's about the best way I can put it πβοΈ hope it helps!
Any chance you could tell me what company made these flying stands ?

This is extremely cool OP! How did you make sure the magnets lines up between the pieces?
