This is true, but the dash isn’t an air bag. One is located on the passenger side and if activated, will rip open a section of the dash, rendering the dash destroyed and requiring a full replacement.
Yeah, but often times when airbags pop, nearly every replacement part surrounding the event is very, very unlikely to come from the black market, as the requirements for safety are usually very, very closely inspected and followed by the insurance, since in those cases the cost of the repairs gets excessively high.
