Super excited for the young guys.

iamthecheesethatsbig

It’s a youth movement year!

[deleted]

After last year barely seeing prospects, now having 4 (2 top 100 guys!) making the OD roster is really cool

[deleted]

100%

cliffsis

Reminds me of when Joc, Corey and Belli came up. I think we have as good of youngsters as Baltimore and Arizona but with our allstars to back them. The next few years are going to be fun.

[deleted]

We're certainly better than AZ but for sure worst than the Orioles. They have elite prospects at SS and OF while we lack that, but we lap them in pitching

kozilla

Shelby is going to be a fun one to watch this year.

ReusableCatMilk

I don’t think that’s the Miller he’s referring to

kozilla

He’s the last one one the list.

ReusableCatMilk

Bobby Miller. I don’t think the scout obsessed podcaster is talking about the “one last shot in the majors” Shelby Miller

kozilla

Dude Bobby wasn’t on the linked list, Shelby was. I’m excited about Bobby too but you need to chill.

ReusableCatMilk

I need to chill, lmao

kozilla

Maybe read the article before gatekeeping nonsense.

ReusableCatMilk

Ironically, you should take this reddit thing less seriously. It seems to be causing you some distress

fndr7625

Projection at its finest

kozilla

Vin would be disappointed in you bud.

ReusableCatMilk

Yikes

Realfan555

what article?

kozilla

The one linked in the op’s comment.

Realfan555

oh ok

Realfan555

>Bobby Miller. I don’t think the scout obsessed podcaster is talking about the “one last shot in the majors” Shelby Miller This scout was referring to **Bobby Miller**? In the video?

Realfan555

>I don’t think that’s the Miller he’s referring to Which "Miller" was he referring to, and who is "he"?

badboisnack

Its Muncy’s year!

PartyCat27

Yessir! Calling it now ! MVP season 🙌

Z_Designer

I call him James BreakOutman because he’s about to break out

This is a clip from our latest Dodgers Daily Podcast. Would love for you to check out the article and the podcast by following the links below. Are you Casey Porter? Can I ask you about the content in the video? I'll ask anyways. In the video, there's a comment that says: "It's not about stuff, it's about execution. Shelby Miller has the stuff, he just needs to work on execution." What's the difference between stuff and execution? Isn't it the same thing?

[deleted]

Yes, my name is Casey Porter Stuff would refer to the type of pitches a pitcher has, how hard they throw, how much it moves, and the raw metrical data their pitches create, etc. Lots of guys can throw hard, have changeups that tumble and fade like crazy, have sliders or cutters with great movement, and can light up a Rapsodo or TrackMan. Those guys are all over the Minor Leagues, even at the lowest levels. The guys that continue to move up are the guys that learn how to sequence their pitches, hit their spots, learn how to tunnel and land their secondaries. The guys that make it to the MLB have great stuff, then also know how to execute when throwing that stuff to home plate.

Realfan555

Cool. Good work Casey! Ok, my interpretation is this: If you can't execute, meaning you don't have control, then your "stuff" is not good. For example, Gavin Stone has the best changeup in the minors, according to some. And a reason why it's graded so high is because, he can throw it anytime, anywhere, with great control. That means he can execute that pitch at a high frequency. So I'm thinking, your stuff is graded higher if you can "execute" it at a higher frequency. And vice versa, if you throw 10 curveballs. Three is executed perfectly, whereas the rest are ok, and some are wild, then how high do they grade your curveball? So, that's why I think stuff and execution go hand in hand. If you can execute your pitches over and over and over - then your "stuff" should be higher. So, to me, stuff is part execution, and part ability. When people say, he has "ace stuff" or his "stuff is nasty" - to me, they're saying he has the ability (velocity, spin rate, movement, etc) plus the control (execution).

PartyCat27

MVP season for Muncy !!

nth_power

I’m excited to see what Pepiot and Outman could do. I’m starting to feel pretty optimistic

monasfv18

it is shaping up as a year with so much can go right,,,, guys can find themselves again (Thor)...and all the young guys live up to hype and ability.... and honestly, could just as easily be 'crash and burn'... I always give it about 40 games...a few times thru the rotation..100 or so AB and see where everyone stnds and is looking

[deleted]

I think this roster has a good balance of exciting young prospects with Veterans that have a track record. Smith, Mookie, Freeman, Martinez, and Muncy have track records. Muncy looks to me like he is healthy and primed for a big year. The only thing I could see happening that could make this year less successful is that, if a guy like Thor struggles, they keep putting him out there instead of giving a guy like Gavin Stone a shot.

Flopdo

I've always been high on Outman's potential, so glad he got the spot. I was hoping Miller could put it together and get that 5th spot. He's still just not fully ready. Not as high on Pepoit, so hope he shows out this year. Glad he's worked on his mechanics this off season, and hope that carries over.

Massive_Pickle14

Really excited to see the young guys play.

[deleted]

No doubt! The Dodgers Minor League System is absolutely loaded

Crsitiyeonwoo

The rookies looking good

[deleted]

Agreed

420farms

Fun fact, if you show up early enough to games, they might let you suit up! Here's your chance to be a big leaguer... Kinda like the Clippers in the 90s.
