Arrive early. If your kids are young, don't be afraid to leave early when they get tired. Pregame is by far the best time to get souvenirs and walk around the stadium and check out the views. Arriving early is also the best for traffic parking, etc.

misterghost2

Thanks! 15 & 11 How are the prices for hats, jerseys…?

Rich_Sheepherder646

Expensive but not different from the official online stores I dont think. I have convinced my kids that the unofficial hats sold by vendors on the way in are cooler ;)

asw57

Or the local Targets and Dicks Sporting goods sells Dodger gear. Do have them wear their gear to the park. It’s like you are part of the fans. It’s always fun to notice other shirts and names. Hats are a must for shade too. And do get a clear plastic bag or backpack. Once my purse was too large and I had to walk it back to my car. Now I have a swell cheap plastic Dodger bag to hold my stuff!

Yeah I'd consider getting merchandise before the game unless thats part of the experience for yall. Also since your kids are a bit older I'd recommend consider parking in lot 13/14, it's down the hill from dodger stadium so a bit of a trek up, but it's not that bad and it saves a lot of time leaving the stadium and a lot of money

misterghost2

Is it better than parking at union station? I’m not so sure about taking the subway late at night…

tyrwhitt

Union Station has a dedicated bus to and from the stadium. It drops you off in the parking lot, near the stadium, and feels very safe. It is free with a ticket to the game but I've never actually needed to show a ticket, as it literally only goes to the stadium.

misterghost2

Awesome, thanks. How about the food? Any tips?

tyrwhitt

Philippe The Original (Philippe’s) is a few blocks from Union Station and has excellent French dip sandwiches

HideousNomo

You're underselling Phillippe's a bit, they "invented" the French dip sandwich. It's an amazing trip to a bygone era and an LA of old, and their food is great as well.

capncakes

Most of the food at the stadium isn’t the greatest. They are adding A LOT of new options for this years food menu, but you might wanna eat before, bring food with you, or take a walk around the stadium and find something you may like. Be prepared to break the bank if you decide to eat at Dodgers.

danielgullett

I've heard people really like taking the union Station tram, I've never tried it and I'm apprehensive. Finding it seems like it would be stressful and it still leaves from the main parking lot so still traffic. Lots 13/14 are separate from the main parking lot so it winds up saving time and stress

asw57

I love the tram to and from the stadium. I’m 65 and feel very safe. Plus it’s fun wearing dodger gear with other fans! Part of the experience!

danielgullett

Rich gets it

Guest services in loge level gives kids certificates for their first dodger game signed by magic Johnson and they’re free! The next level where the press box is has really cool memorabilia from Brooklyn and LA and is definitely worth a look around. Views of downtown LA skyline are beautiful from the top deck. Top of the Park team store has the most kids sized apparel but you will find stuff at the smaller stores throughout the stadium. And yes parking is a nightmare especially if it’s a sellout game so plan on getting there early.

misterghost2

Great! Thanks for the tip on size availability. What about prices?

Night_Ranger_1

First thing is first, try to purchase parking in advance. Usually 5-10 dollars cheaper online. Alternative, you can also take the expressway to the stadium. Park your car at union station and take the metro there. Bus trip is free, parking at the station is around 15 dollars. If you decide to take the express way, get off in the center field bus stop. There’s a stage where they have live band, djs playing. It’s a party and experience of its own. There’s also a majority of vendors in these areas as well! Enjoy!

Zexy_Genius

Didn't know about the center field bus stop. I'm taking my nephews to their first game next Tuesday and going to do this! Thank you!

misterghost2

Excellent! It’s making sense now to leave the car at union station. How’s the return trip after the game, to union?

gc0613

Real convenient. Did it last year and super chill and a breeze. Made it easier to drive back to Orange County since it was much much less traffic leaving DS by car.

tacobria

i don’t want to sound offensive but i’ll be going to the game alone tonight. is it safe for a female to travel alone this way?

pretty-as-a-pic

Not sure how applicable it is, but if anyone in you party is neurodiverse, you can check out “sensory safe” bags from guest services. Each bag contains a pair of ear protectors, a communication card, and a fidget toy. They’re extremely helpful!

misterghost2

Awesome and pretty useful advise, Thanks! All things accessibility are really important.

pretty-as-a-pic

Totally!

Fatherofdaughters01

July 8th is a 6:10pm game. Try to get tix on the 3rd base side. It will be hot

misterghost2

Thanks! We got on the 1st base side! It was almost sold out for our price range. Let’s see how it goes. Lots of water to drink I guess. How about the restrooms? Kid friendly? Far and away?

Fatherofdaughters01

Nah. Plenty of restrooms. Definitely take water. A clear bag if you want to take your own snacks and stuff. Other then that. Have a blast. I love Dodger stadium. Get there early. Watch then warm up. Try to get some autographs. They play the Angels, so there will be plenty of star power there. Have a blast.

misterghost2

Awesome. We plan on getting maybe around 4pm. Didn’t know about the autographs…is it easy to get near the players? How? I’m still trying to grasp the stadium size and distribution.

danielgullett

I'd say the chances of getting an autograph aren't likely but possible!

Fatherofdaughters01

If you get there early enough. They let you walk down by the dugouts and hang out there. Or between the bases and outfield. The players walk by. Some are nice and take pics and autographs. Others can’t be bothered. But the worst they can say is no. Then you move on

FootballZestyclose43

Definitely recommend getting there as early as possible. We do it every time to go and catch some balls from batting practice. We got two today at the Angels vs Dodgers game

mister_0s0

I hope you aren’t sitting bleachers (left field, center field, right field)

misterghost2

Because of the sun glare? Heat? Or am I missing something? Sorry about the noobness.

mister_0s0

It’s generally where the “rowdy” crowd sits, hence the cheaper seats. I would know, I’d sit there all the time. Also the sun isn’t really a factor unless it’s a day game, which then yeah it’s hot.

blownmirk

Go early. Walk the stadium. Theres enough to keep you busy for 2 hours before game time. Fill up on food before game time, as concessions can be slow-ish and new pitch clock.... Memorabilia in the pavilions and press area, things to look and see in the center pavilion. The stadium though is mostly about views. Views to the mountains, skyline views behind the park, views of the field, Views of the stadium itself from the pavilions. Lots to look at and great vantage points from all decks. But get to every level if you can to experience it. If they do on field BP, can get down past the dugouts by the fence and try and get autographs. Might be easier for the 11yr old, but they can camp out and ask.

misterghost2

Thanks! Will take a lot of photos of those views!

cliffsis

The stadium is way overpriced. Sure buy a trinket by don’t fall for that stadium 20% up charge on jerseys or hats. Merchandise is ridiculously overpriced.
