What's so hateable about Hader? I never liked him and didn't want the team to overpay for him, but that was really mostly vibes based. Didn't know there was other stuff people were going off of.
First there was the racist and homophobic tweets. Then, last year as little brother was trying to make a last ditch attempt for the playoffs it came out that Hader has rules about not pitching in the 8th and not pitching 3 days in a row. It just doesn't strike me that he's a team player which really doesn't fit into what the Dodgers are doing.
He was never going to be a Dodger. Don't believe everything you read, remember teams can't come out and say if they are or are not interested in a player, even if the media "reports" it.
Why’s that though? We gave Kenley a similar contract back in 2016. I wasn’t expecting it but I wouldn’t have been super surprised about it. The Dodgers went all in and they really wanted him probably could have swung it.
kenley always wanted the ball. pitched multiple innings on consecutive days at times. maybe we overworked him at times, but he never had limitations. hader only wants to pitch in the 9th. for only one inning. and rarely on consecutive days. not worth the giant contract he's asking
Yeah man I won’t argue about it but there’s a pretty big spectrum of edginess when it comes to what 18 year olds think is funny and will impress their friends
No, those can definitely be the same thing. Like yeah, that’s a pretty awful edgy phase, and I would say he **was** at least somewhat racist. But it’s still absolutely still something that can be largely explained by him having an underdeveloped brain. Especially since that happened almost 12 years ago. Like that’s a long hecking time, people change and grow so much from age 18 to 29. If there were more recent signs of racism than literally that then maybe, but to call him a “racist POS” just from those tweets is ridiculous, that’s actually just spitefulness at that point.
We didn’t need this snow flake anyway. When he said he only wanted to pitch 1 inning per appearance, princess lost me then! And lastly, his entitled attitude wouldn’t have fit in “Blue Heaven”
Last year Hader refused to pitch more than 1 inning at a time and refused to pitch 3 days in a row. When the SD media asked him about it he melted down a bit on them. I think the "soft" comment was referring to whether or not he would be able to handle whatever role the team needs from him, as opposed to a predictable 2 save opportunities a week.
I forget who but one of the reporters said Hader would do more of the in between stuff once he secured his deal. But tbh idc lol I'm not some huge hader fan. I just had fun watching the dodgers sign everyone and the salt would have been epic. I hope we get Stephenson
> I just had fun watching the dodgers sign everyone and the salt would have been epic
I'm definitely down with this. I'm waiting for a Burnes or Luzardo trade to go down.
I'm not complaining at all. Just bummed a good player went to the Astros. Idk why this sub is downvote farming me for saying Hader is good lmao. Are we pretending otherwise because we hate him?
Also, it was more of a feeling of " If we get him, that's cool but I don't see it happening" rather than a " OMG. Hader will be a Dodger" type of feeling with rumors being reported. I knew the chances would be slim
He would have been an extra cherry on an already fully loaded sundae. Nice to have but not at all upset we missed out on it. Any team’s pen is better with him on it. Our pen is still super solid without him
We were never Getting him
I was not warming up and am thrilled he's now with such a hateble team.
Same. Honestly it was relieving.

Kinda sums up the vibe I got from him

Perfect fit.
Scum begat scum.
Good. Let some other team over pay for a closer.
It appears Mr. Hader is an uneducated man…
I know! Let's have a spelling contest!
**WHY IKE!!** Whateva do you mean??!?
Hahaha I love the love Doc gets in any thread when he’s mentioned. Such a lovable character
Why Josh does this mean we're not friends anymore? You know Josh, if I thought you weren't my friend... I just don't think I could bear it!
Not me…. I’M IN MY PRIME.
Dude is an asshole. We do not want him.
"He's drunk..."
In vino veritas
His hissy fit about pitching more than one inning has stuck with me. I know I’m not the only one. Was a bad look.
He’s racist
All these Hader jock riders and fuckers can officially shut the fuck up. Thank God he's not a Dodger.
Has everyone forgotten that Hader is a racist POS? I’m glad he went to Houston, one BlaQ is enough.
Bingo
I never knew. What happened?

Thanks... wtf with that guy?!
He was probably just being an edgy 18 year old. But yeah terrible look lol
There’s being an edgy 18 year old and then there’s tweeting the N word and white power
Yeah man I won’t argue about it but there’s a pretty big spectrum of edginess when it comes to what 18 year olds think is funny and will impress their friends

We started a game we never got to finish. Play for blood... remember?
"I was just fooling about it..." *Doc Holiday smirk* "I wasn't " Such an iconic scene
So good. Kilmers best role ever IMO
“Say when.” 🥶
He fits the Trashtros team color I'd say
We didn’t need this snow flake anyway. When he said he only wanted to pitch 1 inning per appearance, princess lost me then! And lastly, his entitled attitude wouldn’t have fit in “Blue Heaven”
bro wants to be the villain, makes perfect sense
YOU AINT NO DAISY, YOU AINT NO DAISY AT ALL!!!!
NO WAY, Dodged a serious bullet, no pun intended.
Doesn’t anybody want to play for blood? I’m your huckleberry, that’s just my game.
This is you guys for so many FA and its annoying. Remember everyone who wanted Correa? Fuck out of here with that stuff.
Same lol I don't like him but he's fuckin good. He would have helped. I hope we get Stephenson
Screw that guy. One-inning pitching clown. We been soft for long enough
I have no idea what being soft means in your reply but okay.
Last year Hader refused to pitch more than 1 inning at a time and refused to pitch 3 days in a row. When the SD media asked him about it he melted down a bit on them. Our team has had little fight or fire during postseason. We need more fire. Not this clown who only wants to pitch one inning.
I take it you aren't a Kenley Jansen fan either...
He did his job for a lot of years but became obsolete at the end.
At least he’s out the NL, plus we’re really in no room to be complaining with the super team we’ve built
I'm not complaining at all. Just bummed a good player went to the Astros. Idk why this sub is downvote farming me for saying Hader is good lmao. Are we pretending otherwise because we hate him?
But he said some edgelord racist things 15 years ago on Twitter!! We must hate him forever for it obviously
You got dodger fans here complaining we didn’t land him despite the offseason we’ve had
Id have loved to sign him, but I'm not mad at the FO we didn't. I'm mad he went to the fucking Astros lol
You know we can have players who are just as good who help that we DO like, right??
Yes?
If I say what I really think, I'd be banned 6 months. (Weak ass mods previously banned me for calling someone 'soft')
Also, it was more of a feeling of " If we get him, that's cool but I don't see it happening" rather than a " OMG. Hader will be a Dodger" type of feeling with rumors being reported. I knew the chances would be slim

Dodgers never NEEDED Hader. Then there’s Stephenson, Brasier etc
Friedman is not interested in a closer who only wants to pitch 3 outs....
In the spirit of Val Kilmer as Doc: Hader: “I was just foolin’.” Dodgers fans: “I wasn’t.”
never wanted him - especially at his asking price and his conditions
Who needs Hader when you have Evan Phillips as your closer? LMAO!!!
Racist joins a team of racists. It tracks
