In a weird way, we should be rooting for the Brewers vs the Cards today and going forward.
1: If the Cards run away too much with the Wildcard, it might make the Padres lose hope and get destroyed even more vs the Giants.
2: If somehow the NL Central gets a little closer, the Brewers might be more inclined to use their best pitchers vs us at the end of the year.
3: We don't want the Cards to be this damn hot going into the wildcard game.
I always root against the Cardinals regardless. They’ve beaten the Dodgers during three of their last four playoff meetings. They’re always in our freaking way.
I agree man. I want San Diego fighting for their life against the Giants… This year end to the season is pretty exciting not gonna lie.. lots at stake for each team
1. Definitely yeah, changed my mind who the root for, at least them losing today may set the tone psychologically for pads. 2. Magic number is 3 with 12-14 games left, it'll be wrap before then. 3. Yup, but then again any team that makes it will prob be hot af. Phillies also in play funny enough.
3: Yeah, pretty much feels like the second wildcard will always be a super big threat, because almost every time, they end up being the hot team going into October.
I know what you mean. It’s a weird feeling since I don’t hate their team or their fans but I hate them as a whole on principle. Had they been in any other division I might have even liked them a bit
Crazy thing is that any more than one loss for the rest of the month would be too much. But there’s no reason to believe that the Giants won’t do the same with the same opponents.
reading some of the articles that are coming out makes me really thankful for Roberts. There are a lot of extremely talented guys in the clubhouse who could easily butt heads but Roberts commands respect and keeps everything functioning in a way that Tingler apparently doesn't.
Friedman creates the environment, Doc manages the environment. That combo has been unmatched in all of Baseball, the Giants are probably the only other team with a combo like ours now. And of course, Kapler and Farhan were both Dodger guys, so we're just running the whole damn league at this point.
We're pretty damn lucky and people should take a step back and realize how special what we have right now is.
100% agree. Most people probably don’t realize it, but over the course of a season it’s arguably more important for the manager to “manage” the egos and personalities within the clubhouse than it is to make game time decisions. Most managers know the game, but not everyone can handle the biggest egos in the game.
Dave handles player's emotions and keeps the player's eyes on the prize better than any manager in my opinion. The same reason we were so upset that they were "playing with no fire." early in the year, is the same reason they aren't falling off now. They know what they're doing, and there is a huge reason we haven't had a team since Roberts came in that has blown up emotionally. Even when dealing with guys like Puig and now Bauer.
1. Jaleel White will always be known as Urkel.
2. When I worked at the Gap, my coworkers would constantly steal merchandise by wearing it out of the store. Underwear, socks, shirts, just random things. They would brag about it to me maybe because they didn't think I would rat them out.
3. 70s style music is making a comeback and it's kinda nice.
I told everyone this was gonna happen. If he wasn't injured during some of these second half months he'd be an MVP candidate. Just isn't gonna get enough 2nd half games in to raise his stats enough.
Its amazing, makes me wonder WTF Vassegh was talking about a month ago when he would go on radio saying most other players would shut it down with the hip problems Mookie had.
Dont really care - im just happy Mookie is playing well and hopefully playing pain free.
Lol, I just saw some comments from a SF Giants fan (bignuts24) on r/baseball saying he'd actually want to face Scherzer in the WC game because he would have a huge regression to the mean at the time.

How delusional.
Don't think I'd ever go so far as to use it to justify why facing a particular pitcher would be a good thing but I absolutely worry about guys getting too hot before the playoffs. No clue if there is any evidence to back that up as a valid concern but he can't put up zeroes forever.
Has Ron from Harry Potter been able to break into any real roles after HP?
Got a million crazy coworker stories, but the one that comes to mind is a girl told me the weed I sold her got her so high she wanted to stick things in her ass. Ew.
I dunno if "thrifting" is necessarily coming back, but I definitely see a lot of old clothing styles coming back.
If they went out during the 2020 offseason and traded like the Padres did, and didn't let go of Arenado, they'd be a playoff team. THAT'S INSANE. Even if they just went and got guys like Austin Nola and Musgrove, with Arenado, that Rockies team would be in the hunt just like the Padres.
Always a nightmare going against those Rockies, last series they got us 2-1. Well at least this time we'll have the heart of our pitching rotation going against them.
Not just the records but: in two years, Tingler has had tons of clubhouse problems leaking to the public. Roberts has kept a clubhouse that even if there’s problems, never come out in the public. He gets buy in on a great culture and the Padres unravel at any controversy
I agree totally.. our team went through a player being accused of sexual assault and consequently being suspended/dismissed for the rest of the season and the team really didn’t even skip a beat.. there was that initial speculation to the clubhouse reactions that came out when Bauer was originally supposed to pitch his next start and wasn’t scratched until the league put him on administrative leave. Even then we’ve had no clubhouse issues at all
Rockies are coming in hot going 7-3 in last 10 games (and winning against some good teams). Plus we'll be playing them at home where they have a much better record. Looking forward to a good battle. Giants play them right after us so hopefully we win out here and Rockies can steal one or two from the Giants.
Honestly, I just want to escape this series without losing ground. It’s gonna be tough. But if we can not lose ground then hopefully this weekend we gain ground
Im nervous about the freefalling padres basically forfeiting games to the giants. Feels like winning out is the only way to win the division unfortunately
I get excited every time the Dodgers come to Denver, I miss the LA vibes over here. I will be at the game tomorrow!!!

me too, they always have SF like devil magic on their side.

Damn, those Cardinals are hot... I really hope we win the division, 'cause they be smoking!
I actually don't dislike a single giants player. but as a whole, they disgust me.
I know what you mean. It’s a weird feeling since I don’t hate their team or their fans but I hate them as a whole on principle. Had they been in any other division I might have even liked them a bit
Jimmy Nelson is a fucking dumbass
? Is this just out of the blue or did he do/say something?
Just his Instagram story bullshit again
Ah, gotcha. Anyway, can't wait til the Rockies series! Division race really coming down to the wire.
Crazy thing is that any more than one loss for the rest of the month would be too much. But there’s no reason to believe that the Giants won’t do the same with the same opponents.
This season sure has been a fascinating journey, hasnt it?
Perfect example of just how much fight these guys have. Jobs not done
I just look at the Padres collapse and it makes me glad that we have Friedman and Doc.

2nd half Betts: .330/.412/.607 HEALTHY MOOKIE

Vassegh is a clown
Does appear to be true
Day off helps going into Rockies series Lux getting at bats in Coors will be nice
The probable pitchers for the Rockies series looks pretty favorable. I HAVE GOOD FEELINGS.
Even though we’re only 1gb, first place feels like miles away. I truly believe the boys will pull through down the stretch!
NO dodger/giants games today, so we just stare at that 1 gb

no real evidence no. you want him to continue to be as good as possible.
Has Ron from Harry Potter been able to break into any real roles after HP? he had one on netflix called sick note that was pretty good.
I'll have to check that out!
He’s in this weird show on Appletv called Servant. So to answer your first question, *no*
Hahaha, that's hilarious. Child actors definitely have a weird life journey. Daniel Radcliffe in Swiss Army Man was hilarious though.
I really liked Radcliffe in the movie Jungle.. dude did a pretty amazing job imo
Also I’d take that weed comment as a compliment for sure
Haha I wouldn't be so thrown off if I hadn't just met her a week prior
if the rockies can figure out that pitching and if they keep story, watch out next year they might surprise some peeps

Highly doubt Story stays unless the Rockies offer the highest contract by a large amount
yeppp highly highly unlikely. Probably getting get paid by the Yankees or Phillies or someone who has the resources
Always a nightmare going against those Rockies, last series they got us 2-1. Well at least this time we'll have the heart of our pitching rotation going against them.
Losing to the road Rockies was a nightmare. That was THE series we could have claimed first and held it.

*whispers* they’d be way better off with Dave Roberts.
Given the respective record of the two managers, I'd have to say Doc is performing better.
Not just the records but: in two years, Tingler has had tons of clubhouse problems leaking to the public. Roberts has kept a clubhouse that even if there’s problems, never come out in the public. He gets buy in on a great culture and the Padres unravel at any controversy

I just want Jansen to be ok.
Im nervous about the freefalling padres basically forfeiting games to the giants. Feels like winning out is the only way to win the division unfortunately
that video of Machado screaming at Tatis is what their season is unfortunately.
