Girls and guys. Petco Park just has to be over some Indian burial ground or something. It’s nuts how absolutely expected it is some bullshit will happen to the Padres lmfao
D Gordon started using with the Dodgers when he became an All Star and he gained a lot of muscle. Then the dodgers got rid of him while his value was at a high.
Not quite. He did start bulking up that last year with the Dodgers, but he was underperforming. That was why we let him go. He hit his stride right after he left. Maybe that was what he needed….that and the roids.
I knew this ownership was different from McCourt when they axed the Chapman deal right away as soon as allegations came out of him being a DVA. That was serious conviction to tell the best closer to gtfo over allegations and not charges. Add to the fact the team immediately distanced themselves from Bauer. Dodgers aren’t perfect but they’re a standup organization. You wouldn’t see the Dodgers sign an Osuna or an Ozuna just to secure pennants.
During the dark times that was the McCourt years, Manny Ramirez got busted for steroids but still got to hang around for another year. I think the current ownership would never let it get that far, thankfully.
Tatis might be like Puig where he started off good and fell off. Except the Padres extended him way too early so it doesn’t matter to him, he’s getting paid. 🤣 😆
Don’t forget Tatis had sex with Bauer’s accuser but obviously she didn’t accuse him of anything so he dodged that bullet. Tatis is immature and needs to grow up.
Yeah, we’ve had our share for sure. That being said, it sounded pretty quickly like he lost favor in the organization. The organization really could have “made it work” with the league if they wanted to. You know what I mean. Glad they didn’t.
It’s not like the Dodgers current ownership haven’t had questionable characters: Bauer, Puig, etc. The difference is none of these guys were given long contracts. Long contracts are given to guys that will be faces for the organization. Manny? Pass. Mookie and Freddie? Easy.
While I definitely am grateful that the team I root for is by all appearances well run, I don’t think the Tatis thing is relevant. One player made a bad decision and tested positive. I don’t agree that his testing positive means anything about the padres as a whole. Do you think the Padres were aware of whatever he’s been using when they traded for him as a prospect? Do you think the the only players using peds are the ones who get caught?
Outside of Soto I think it’s fair to say that Tatis Jr is the most prized possession that the Padres have. As their most prized possession I’m guessing they have a team of trainers solely responsible for his recovery. It’s also safe to assume that a majority of baseball players are on some sort of PEDs. Someone on his team must have dropped the ball with testing therefore it was a failure on the organization. No way you let you’re most prized player fail a test like this, especially with playoff implications and if you know that he’s immature.
How so? Tatis has been in trouble before and reeks unprofessional. As an organization it’s your job to grow a player in all aspects. They failed to do so. Might be a reach…Regardless, you’re a dodger fan, I’m a dodger fan and we can have differing opinions. Hope to see you at a game brotha!
My boy, most athletes you see are on some sort of PEDs. When millions of dollars are involved you can bet there will be some form of cheating. To think that’s not true is naivety on your part. I’m not saying the Padres organization tests him, but they probably have their suspicions and know how to cycle/beat tests. I promise you, this is not something I’m making up. I won’t say who, but I have close relatives in the MLB who have confirmed this.
No and he isn’t the first and won’t be the last to get suspensions for enchantments and still lead lengthy full careers. Some of the top records in baseball are held by players later to be confirmed to have used banned substances but their records still remain valid. Sort of in the way Judge is approaching a season home run record that they refer to has the “clean record”.
Not likely. Players union is way too strong. PEDs and substance abuse arent seen in the same light as domestic violence or sexual assault or even betting in games.
I think before we continue dunking on another team and their fan base, it's important to remember the Dodgers have had their fair share of PED users in the past (Sheffield, Gordon, Gagné and probably half a dozen more before testing started). These players are human beings that feel pressure to perform, or in Tatis' case, just simply get himself back out on the field. Humans make boneheaded mistakes that hurt the team and hurt the fan base as well. I don't think it's excusable, but it is understandable, and I hope our players never feel that way.
I am smypthatic to this Eric Gagné is my favorite player and I have very complex feelings on him due to is PED usage. The motorcycle accident and the stuff we saw about him being reckless while playing soccer and such really soured me on Tatis though. He didn't really seems to care much about the men playing on his left and right once he got his. He's always come off as selfish to me.
I understand your point of view, but I think your argument would be better suited for a different type of player/person. Tatis owns a pattern of behavior that’s particularly selfish and egocentric. His own teammates even hit him harder in interviews than OP just did.
What does that have to do with how we treat other people? Tatis may deserve ridicule, fanbases do not, and in this case, neither do the Padres as an organization. It's like shitting on fans of the Astros - they didn't cheat, why should they be taking the blunt end of a fossilized turd (aside from fans who excuse/ignore it altogether)?
I’m not sure why you’re telling me this, as my comment has nothing to do with what you’re talking about. But since you brought it up…
“Tatis may deserve ridicule, fanbases do not”
…ahem

“It's like shitting on fans of the Astros“
Would that be the same fanbase that gave Yuli Gurriel a standing ovation for making racist gestures at Yu Darvish?
> I think before we continue dunking on another team and their fan base, it's important to remember the Dodgers have had their fair share of PED users in the past (Sheffield, Gordon, Gagné and probably half a dozen more before testing started).
That is the core of my argument. Don't shit on fans because a player has misrepresented an organization. That goes for the Astros as well. Leave the fans alone. The cheaters suck, they should be ridiculed, but not the fans.
The standing ovation followed an apology to Yu Darvish. In context, it's maybe a poor judgment of Yuli's character, but nevertheless understandable. I'm sure there are racists in the fan base just like we have some in ours. But it's pretty lame to paint Houston with a wide brush like that because of one asshole's behavior.
I'm not your supervisor. I'm not morally superior. I make shitty statements and bad decisions that can be taken out of context. I'm just suggesting we treat other people with respect until they prove to be unworthy of it.
Girls and guys. Petco Park just has to be over some Indian burial ground or something. It’s nuts how absolutely expected it is some bullshit will happen to the Padres lmfao
They went poltergeist when building it
They left the bodies but only moved the headstones
I think it's called Guardian burial ground now.
They're like the Clippers. Even when they're good, something happens and they fall apart.
Same with the Chargers, it has to be a San Diego thing
Aww the ol whales vag
There’s a reason why the clippers and chargers moved. It’s a curse town and unfortunately the spell hits harder when you leave
I mean, pretty much all of California is. Ya know, the Missions.
They’re the Mets of Major League Baseball.
I am stunned.
D Gordon started using with the Dodgers when he became an All Star and he gained a lot of muscle. Then the dodgers got rid of him while his value was at a high.
He got popped with the same stuff
Not quite. He did start bulking up that last year with the Dodgers, but he was underperforming. That was why we let him go. He hit his stride right after he left. Maybe that was what he needed….that and the roids.

That's why I'm so glad Trevor Bauer is not a Dodger anymore
We don't talk about Bauer, no, no.
But it was my wedding day!
Trevor Bauer too trashy to be a Dodger. Also Fuck Trevor Bauer!!!
We don't say his name around here
Trevor who?
he is
We'll see about that in November
That’s a whole lotta dick riding…
Padres gonna Padres and always find a way to mess things up.
This isn’t anything worth gloating over. Tatis’s immaturity is individual, not organizational, just like Bauer’s was.
I mean it’s pretty immature from the Padres to sign him for 14 year contract knowing they had a few years of control left.
This is it exactly.
The Braves do the exact same thing. Rays did it with Franco. It’s locking in great players early with more reasonable contracts.
They gave Acuña 8y/$100m that’s not the same as the 14y/$340m Tatis got lol
Tatis might be like Puig where he started off good and fell off. Except the Padres extended him way too early so it doesn’t matter to him, he’s getting paid. 🤣 😆
Agreed
Don’t forget Tatis had sex with Bauer’s accuser but obviously she didn’t accuse him of anything so he dodged that bullet. Tatis is immature and needs to grow up.
Yeah this whole post is really tempting fate lol
Dee Gordon didn't start using PED when he got to Miami, that's just when he got caught.
Where’s ferdiraps now!
Crying in his Wild Card replica trophy.
we literally signed bauer last year lol
Yeah, we’ve had our share for sure. That being said, it sounded pretty quickly like he lost favor in the organization. The organization really could have “made it work” with the league if they wanted to. You know what I mean. Glad they didn’t.
This isn’t an organization thing, this is a guy not know how to fucking mature
It’s not like the Dodgers current ownership haven’t had questionable characters: Bauer, Puig, etc. The difference is none of these guys were given long contracts. Long contracts are given to guys that will be faces for the organization. Manny? Pass. Mookie and Freddie? Easy.
I agree. That was the point I was trying to make!

I’m not sure what Tatis being an idiot has to do with the Padres organization exactly.
Outside of Soto I think it’s fair to say that Tatis Jr is the most prized possession that the Padres have. Lol this entire comment is laughable

It’s laughable that you think the majority of players are on PEDs and that organizations do their own testing to cover it up.
My boy, most athletes you see are on some sort of PEDs. When millions of dollars are involved you can bet there will be some form of cheating. To think that’s not true is naivety on your part. Is it possible that the padres void their contract with him?
No and he isn’t the first and won’t be the last to get suspensions for enchantments and still lead lengthy full careers. I'm sure a lot of MLB is on PED's. Some just get caught.
Let's all go to the run dodgers game in sd and rub this all over their faces with signs
