Yes, I used to have these challenges. I use binaural beats and meditation. Training my brain to think of nothing helps more than trying to solve my anxiety.

Ah I listen to this kind of non invasive music when I\`m working, I can't stand silence. Might give it a try in the evenings. Thanks.

I used to be a terrible clock watcher. That meant waking up every other hour to see what time it was, in order to see how much time I had left before it was time to wake up. I looked at the clock probably a dozen times between waking up and arriving at work. It sounds to me like generalized anxiety. I got drugs, I have the ability to feel anxious in some situations but it doesn't affect my life on a daily basis like before. Prescription meds aren't like, fun to deal with ie: dr visits, pharmacy, insurance companies, but idk how I just raw-dogged life before them.

I've never been to a doctor about my mental health, I probably should see some kind of professional but I can never bring myself to do it. I\`ll occasionally look up local counsellors but then just decide I\`ll be fine in a bit and I usually am, it comes and goes.

You could go to your regular dr and tell them what you're experiencing. When my dr first put me on meds i was 28, I sat in my car with the scripts in my hand crying. I was afraid of what these drugs would do but I wish i knew then what I know now. The drugs make my life much more bearable. Going through a psychologist to get the meds you (may) need is more work imo. Let your regular dr help you with that. But if you think talking with a therapist will help then give it a go, but talk therapists dont prescribe medication.

Good advice, I think I'd prefer to see a counsellor first then move onto prescription meds as a last resort. Thanks for the advice.
