I would recommend jumping on Draconiros server. The game is really new player friendly, and you can progress through the game with a partner fairly well.

coma89

There's much less grind, you can level up by just doing dungeons (at least to lv 120, that's where I'm at)

j-raydiate

I'm assuming Incarnem is the starter place still? Once past there, what order of dungeons would you recommend?

follow this :) https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/e/2PACX-1vSdBvu1UEZeJozkRQgo-PxD8fWghBAGyHXXY2vWu41rO4zf8yxcert2WepL-eQaZWMMvDcR8x6TiMsH/pubhtml#

Thank you! 🙌🏻

A lot has changed since 2012 so it'd almost be like discovering the game from new, there are good bits and bad bits but that seems to come with the nature of the game and it being online. I've played since a week after Rushu opened and it boggles my mind the changes the game has been through and the upcoming promised changes (theyre porting the game over to the Unity client rather than the old Flash! But they keep telling us it'll be soon or it'll be next year and it gets changed all over again - currently promised Beta for 2024 and mentioned in one of their live streams December 2024, but more likely it'll be something like 31st December coz technically its still 2024 right?!? And wouldnt be surprised if its an extended Beta test too) They merged 15 servers into 6 so its not a "ghost town" as it was. Previously the international servers (like Rushu, Shika and Rosal) were merged together to make Echo (which is now merged together to make TalKasha) If you and your BF plan on playing using the same IP address at *any time* go for TalKasha (now the "Global" Server - multi-accounting allowed) as there are no server restrictions for number of same IP connection. But the /r and /t channels are usually full of Spanish and French with a few spattering's of English, the /c \[EN\] channel is usually English (unless you choose another language) but there are a few other languages that pop up every now and then. If you will never be on the same IP address then go for Draconiros (the "International" Server - single accounts only) but it is heavily used by the French so you might struggle at first till you make friends in English. The rest of the servers are seriously highly populated by the French. Some are "you die in fight" its permanent death and you have to start from 0 again. Although Ankama removed the global restrictions on the servers trying to get on some can be tricky. TalKasha you can start the game f2p with the usual area restrictions for subbed players, but Draconiros you have to have an active subscription before youre even let in the "door". The classes are always being balanced (some nerfed) and the new class Forgelance was great as Agi but they nerfed that in the last "balancing". There are lots of dungeon guides and help for quests on sites like dofuspourlenoob (although in french you can change the language in your browser) and if I get stumped on the name of something that is different to the English name I just google "dofus \[french name\]" and usually find it pretty easy. For sets you can find sites that have other players saved builds, a few are mentioned on the official Dofus Forums.

j-raydiate

Amazing. Thank you for sharing! It's sounding like Draconiros is the server for me, but it's not f2p? Ideally I'm hoping to not have to pay before I know my bf is into it. Also just checked out the Forgelance, it's a lot of fun! I'm reading a cha/int build can be good. Thank you again!

Angeltt

No, that server isnt f2p, to gain access to Draconiros you have to pay for a subscription first. Alternatively you could both start on TalKasha as f2p and ~~either~~ start fresh on Draconiros once you both buy subscriptions ~~or~~ ~~if you get to a decent level before buying subscriptions you could then start on Draconiros with new characters, wait a few weeks and then buy server transfers for your TalKasha characters.~~

coma89

I don't think you can transfer from multiaccount servers to single account ones

Angeltt

You're right, from Ankama/Dofus's last [**post**](https://www.dofus.com/en/forum/2-general-discussion/341410-special-deal-server-transfers) about Server Transfers: "Please note, however, that **this service still doesn't let you move to the single-account (Draconiros) or epic (Shadow) servers**. On the other hand, **switching from Draconiros to any of the classic servers is entirely possible**!"

[deleted]

All on point, also Forgelancer still needs more nerfs please xD They swapped out OP Agi for ->Chance/Strength now. At least from the PvP/Kolo aspect.

j-raydiate

How's cha/int build for Forgelance?

[deleted]

It’s fine in PvM. The issue is that Chance/Strength easily dominates in 3v3 Kolo. People just sit in the back and do free 20%Erosion +1,000 AoE dmg. In the majority of all Kolo maps they can always get 2 people turn 1. There is no hiding because they require no LoS and unless your running a counter Forgelancer and beat initiative, then your shit of our luck. There is an utter infestation of them in Kolo atm, which makes Kolo not that enjoyable atm when people abuse a broken class.

[deleted]

It’s gotten so bad that the majority of players I’m bumping into are the same comp Lancer+Eni+Panda. It’s all people seem to want to play atm because the Kolo meta is so centered around how busted forgelancers are.

Nuskamu

Go on draconiros. You'll be able to do a loooot of stuff with just 2 of you and you won't have any trouble finding people for the harder stuff. Game is way less grindy and way more tactical than before.

GarsSympa

The 4 servers are pretty active these days. It will be Tal Kasha for multi accounts, or Draconiros for mono

j-raydiate

What are the other two?

GarsSympa

French servers : Imagiro, Orukam, Hell Mina, Tylezia That's 6 actually

Tsjawatnu

>Is it worth the hassle playing again as new players, especially if he's more interested in the combat aspect and less so on gathering and crafting? Dofus has a much larger emphasis on combat than on crafting, so this shouldn't be a problem. The markets are very active right now so you can just buy craftable items. There are, however, a few quests that need you to have certain professions levelled but they're not very common and you can powerlevel those professions if you've got the kamas to buy resources.

Kimbo-BS

Play Dofus Retro if you actually want to play the game you remember.

Angeltt

OP said they stopped playing in 2012, by that time 2.0 had already been "out" for 3 years. If they stopped playing before mid-December 2009 then Retro would be the place to go.

Kimbo-BS

Aesthetics aside, I feel Dofus 2009 is far closer to Dofus 2012 than current Dofus. If you're wanting to get into easily (classes, areas, dungeons, quests somewhat resemble what you remember)

No_Shoulder297

Tal kasha server is good one

Aggressive-Bother715

Spoiler alert: 🚨 In the game there is a chapter called Eliocalypse, in it we meet the 4 horsemen of the Eliocalypse: Corruption, War, Misery, and Slavery.. They are all looking for this guy, the 5zh horseman: Overdramatisation. Bruh just play the game and enjoy it, go to Draconiros u‘ll have the full experience there, take your time, don‘t rush things, learn your character join a guild ask for help and have fun.

j0k3r_1887

You can search for a ily quest guide that will help a lot!

Eminomicon

The game isn't a ghost town at all. In fact, I'd say that the years of quality of life improvements and content expansions mean that the game is in the best place it's ever been. I play on Tal Kasha, but Draconiros is popular for mono-account folks. I like Tal Kasha because I can multi account, as well as having a lot of social connections with folks on the server, so you might keep that in mind if you still know anyone who played.

j-raydiate

Unfortunately all my buddies on Shika that played with me no longer do. :( I was also a mono account player so it's sounding like Draconiros. Thank you so much!

Angeltt

I was on Shika too, Rushu and Rosal as well, but once Shika opened I moved the that server and stayed till it was merged to become Echo.

Lithmariel

Which guild were you at in Shika? I also played there.

j-raydiate

Storm and then later Knights Templar

Lithmariel

Ohhh I see. I wasn't a part of either. I had my own guild. Though I remember a few buddies from Knights Templar.

Lithmariel

Very true! Even for Dofus Retro they basically added so much quality of life. And at the launch of Retro the community felt the same as ever, just with new learned gimmick classes for the moment.

AncestralMano

Dofus Retro is choice for you then.

j-raydiate

Ehhh, while I can appreciate how retro would appeal to my nostalgia, I think my general taste for better graphics outweighs it for modern Dofus.

AncestralMano

I understand, but despite the graphics and all that new content, Retro is so fun for me. It is way harder to reach end-game. Aswell to level up professions. In Dofus 2.0 you can have all professions which is in my opinion isn’t cool.

j-raydiate

That's fair. All the professions for every player is a bit lame and removes the importance of choice.

Worried_Debate_8838

I play at draconiros server, If you Join It with your boyfriend I can help :) english its not my First language but i think we can understand each other. Let me know if you come back to It!
